  1. Got my approval 68 days!!!!

Congrats! That's was quick....68 days. Your tax dollars at work! :D

    Woohhoooooooo......Got approved !

    NOA2...... :D :D :D :D

Just staying late at work and suddenly got text message :D

Now time to prepare for the next step :D

    Good luck everyone :)

"On October 28, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

That's awesome! Now the real work begins for us all...

  2. What do you guys mean by touched, or is that just me being silly. NOA1 on Aug 18th, does that mean im close to my NOA2?

A touch means that someone at the service center handled your petition. They scan it to show the system they are in possession of it. Sometimes it can mean that an approval is close, since they are probably looking at your petition, or an RFE is going to be issued, again, since they are looking at it, or it can mean your petition is being moved from desk to desk. You can tell if your case was touched because the date on your portfolio on the USCIS site changes, but the status of your case does not change. And if you have an NOA1 from mid august, sit tight because it looks like CSC are starting to sift through our month! NOt in date order, by the looks of it, but it good news for us anyhow!

We got a second touch today, but no approval. I'm getting antsy here!

HEY! The CSC worker who keeps touching my petition! I know it's a great read and has some pretty pictures in it, but lets get to the business end of things here ;)

Hmmmm...how are you checking your case status? I'm using this resource: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do

The only date I see is our NOA1 date, and nothing ever updates. Either I'm looking at a different resource or no one feels like touching our paperwork (bad).

I'm two behind you guys on Igor's List! Come on!!!!!!

  3. To add - Just logged onto USCIS tracking, and no touch yet. And, since it's the weekend there now, I am guessing that nothing will happen, if we do get touched, for a few more days. We are moving up Igor's list though! And there are a three NOA1's from around our NOA1 date that have been approved. The VJ timeline page says CSC are processing petitions from July 24. I'm not a religious person at all, but I am PRAYING we get one soon. I can't bear waiting any longer!

That's awesome! But as for our situation...no touches yet, no email. And my timeline date keeps slipping farther back. I know that the timeline is just an estimate so your "real" news give me hope. Our actual NOA1 date is only two days behind yours!

It's also great that you could be together for this event! I won't get to share my news in person with my finace however at least I will get to see her next week for 7 days.

    *thinking positive thoughts*

  4. Boooo. I check the USCIS website every day ti see if the date changes...it's a little kick in the teeth every time to see it is the same.

But, on another note, I got my wedding dress today!!! Needs a few nips and tucks but it's the prettiest thing I'll probably ever own...apart from my engagement ring :)

Hello, I just had to write a reply when I saw your post. Your dress looks really pretty and I'm sure you'll have a very happy groom! Hang in there, CSC is finally moving again :star:

Wade+Kristin: NOA2 yesterday? Congrats! I'm only a month behind you so that possibly means early November for me!!! Better than I was expecting...

  5. Don't lose hope, CSC clients.

Obami will wack that burro in due time!

    1) After the health care overhaul.

    or

    2) After he's done paying for Malia's braces.

    ============================

Just curious: where did you find your "projection" information? The only source I know of is the USCIS website, and it always says the same, general information for CSC: 5-months. Is there another source that may provide something more accurate? Thanks for any info you can provide!

  6. *bump*

So, anyone been touched by one of the hardworking USCIS staff at CSC yet? We long in every day to see if the date has changed...but no love!

To pass this long wait...lets tell the story of how you met your SO!

I signed up for the automagic email notification on the USCIS website. So far, no touches at all. But we are only about 5-weeks in so far. From what I have read I'm not expecting anything until AT LEAST after the 8-10 week window. And that is if we are very lucky. I also expect that our application, running into the US holiday season (where there are many government holidays and people tend to take time off from work), is going to take longer than expected. :(

But......back to your original question, how did we meet: Online dating site. I knew what I wanted. She knew what she wanted. Neither of us were finding the kind of people we were happy with locally. In spreading out our search areas we finally ran into one another. It was like peanut butter and chocolate!

Great news though: it's looking like I get to go see my lady again in mid-October! Thought I was going to have to wait until all the paperwork was ready to see her again. Part of the great thing about living in the middle of the Pacific Ocean is that it is closer to travel between Singapore than to the East Coast of the US! So my business trip will take me far west rather than east!

  7. I like your list! It is a nice checklist to work from. I do have a concern though...I'm getting ready to send off my I-129F next week and I did not realize that I needed to submit a "Beneficiary Certificate of Single". Unless I'm missing something I don't see this requirement in the I-129F instructions. I only see a reference to me, the applicant, having to supply proof AND only if I had been married before (which I was, and am submitting a copy of my divorce decree). My fiance has never been married and therefore will have no proof to show of divorce, annulment, or otherwise.

So, the Certificate of Single is certainly a good idea and perhaps a smart thing to include in the I-129F packet, but is it actually required???

Best of luck with your application!!!

  8. In a few places (including some help sections on visajourney.com) I have seen reference to the requirement for documents to be notarized. I have read the I-129F instructions multiple times and I don't see a reference there requiring notarization of any documents. Can someone clarify or share your experiences? For the initial I-129F petition is it necessary to have ANY of the documents being submitted notarized? Thanks!
