  1. thank you everybody for your support!

my husband called them today, basically they gave the same information, said we should wait 60 days. however my husband said that he will call back in the beginning of January and if nothing has changed we will send stuff in once again, she said that will work. I really hope the case get resumed before January.

He also called USPS and made an inquiry about the address the package was delivered to. We should get a response in a couple of days. We're suspecting it might be the problem on postal services side.

  2. hello everybody! I hope you all had great holidays. Mine unfortunately were not so good. I still haven't heard anything from USCIS. It's been 3 weeks since they got my RFE response, and since than it was no update yet, according to the website my case is still not resumed. I called them yesterday, they said that they can not help and I have to wait 60 days and only after that they will check and see what's going on. I'm getting a little desperate here, hope nobody will face the same situation. :crying:

  3. hi guys im reading of some updates and im glad the october filers are progressing one by one of this journey... good luck to everyone for i know waiting moment is so stressful...

i got a notice transfer today guys nov. 6 and dated last nov. 2, 2009 my I-485 case is transfer to california service center. :dancing::dancing::dancing: is this mean that i dont have an interview

hope for rebeccaandphil and km24 there biometrics will arrive soon...

wow! that's awesome. lucky you! congrats!

  4. Nice Sweetanastasia!! I also did my bio this morning in Wheaton, MD ASC. Mine was also quick, done in about 15 minutes. Filled out the form, and the nice old man entered some information in the computer, scanned the barcode on the bio letter and they took many different finger prints, and voila! Done  He didn't say anything about EAD though..... So right after that I went straight to Social Security Administration office to get my name changed and after waiting 10 minutes, I got it done just fine and my new card will be mailed within 2 weeks. My SS card will be still with H-1B, so once I receive GC, I have to go back with GC and they will give me a new one again.... but haaaaaaa, I can breathe for now :)

Good luck to those whose appointment is coming soon!! Have a great weekend!

ReeRee, it's great your biometrics officer was nice as well, because the lady in the cubicle next to the one I was in was very mean to a guy who also had his fingers taken, she was almost screaming at him, it made everybody a little uncomfortable. Hope nobody will face it.

  5. I had my biometrics appointment today in Alexandria, VA. Everything went really quick, the lady who was taking the fingerprints was extremely nice. Security checked my biometrics invitation, passport and marriage certificate (since I still have may maiden name in passport and the invitation was for my new last name), than after filling out some form I went to a cubical, the lady filled out some information in computer, took a picture of me and took lots of different versions of my fingerprints. The whole thing took about 15-20 minutes, she said I will receive my EAD within the next 4 weeks.

Now I'm waiting for the employment verification letter from my husband's job to arrive, so we could finally send the RFE back and wait for the interview invitation.

For those waiting for biometrics interview, hope you all will get it shortly!

  6. OK, yesterday we drove to the local IRS field office. After waiting in a line for about an hour we finally got my husband's tax transcript for 2008. He also printed out his pay stubs for the last 6 months from the online employee portal. HR issued a letter of employment and sent it to us by mail (??? ).

Hope I'll get the letter tomorrow and we'll be able to send the RFE response tomorrow or on Friday. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Oh yeah and I'm having my bio appointment tomorrow. Wish me luck

PS Thanks everybody on the advise on the tax transcripts, you guys saved me at least a week of time!

  7. sweetanastasia

you can get your tax transcripts by going to your local IRS office, it's much faster than calling and waiting for 10 to 15 days. You can make an appointment but walk-ins are always welcome. I was in and out with my trancripts in less than one hour. Here's the link where you can find your local IRS office and the services they offer. http://www.irs.gov/localcontacts/index.html

    Good luck

MissAfrica, thank you so much for the information! I've found one office within 1 hour drive. I'll try to get there on Tuesday and see if they could help. The list of services does say they do transcripts. I'll let you guys know how it went.

Thanks again, I really did not know about it. Let's keep the fingers crossed.

  8. OK, I got the RFE letter today. And of course my worst nightmares came true. They were not satisfied with our I-864. The problem is my lovely husband keeps all of his documents in a complete MESS  It took me almost two weeks to go through all of the boxes with bills/documents/letters to try to find any tax related documents. I guess I did not find all of them

What they need is for us to send them all federal income tax documentation submitted to IRS for year 2008. Which I did in fact (well at least all I could find in my hubby's mess). I guess USCIS is not happy with what I've sent, therefore just to be on a safe side I think I'm going to request IRS transcript from IRS, which takes two weeks to deliver (according to IRS website). I'll have my husband call them on Monday to make a request. I wish it was a weekday today!

Another thing USCIS requests is a letter of employment and paystubs from my husband's work. His income has doubled comparing to the previous year. I guess USCIS just want to see the proof that we're not lying. Oh well we'll get them what they need.

Basically, everything they are not happy with is possible to fix, I'm just upset that I will have to lose about 3 weeks of time now :crying: I'm very anxious to go home, I haven't seen my family since February 2009, and looks like it's going to be at least 3 more months of waiting :crying:

  9. That's good you can check your status online! How can you tell they sent RFE? You know how they have like 6 circles and all of my applications is at Initial Review circle. besides those circles, does yours show anything else??

Hope your RFE isn't too complicated, it shouldn't!

It highlights RFE circle (the third circle) and the message says they sent RFE on October 26th. Checked the mail today, still not there. Hope to get it tomorrow.

  10. Is there anybody here who can not check the case status online? I got my NOA's not so long ago (all dated October 19th), when I go to USCIS website to check the status, I get information that my case can not be found. I'm using receipt number from NOA, which starts with MSC. Is there a problem here or is it simply too early to get updates online? Did anybody have this problem before? Please advise, I'm getting kinda nervous :(

  11. ok, I finally have good news, today when I've opened my mailbox there were 4 envelopes there. First I got a little bit nervous, as I was only expecting to see 3 letters (I-485, I-130 and EAD), so I was assuming we already got a RFE. However when I opened the forth envelope it was invitation for biometrics inside! I could not believe my eyes! I was not expecting it for at least couple more weeks. I'm excited! Now I can relax and enjoy the weekend

Hope everybody has a great weekend!
