  1. My condolences on your father's passing away.

I can only comment on one of your queries.

Being there of course is a major plus (that's what the USCIS officer who interviewed us said). Because I was there, he didn't spend too much time since just my being there said a lot. And we had a LOT of photos, travel itineraries, phone bills to prove that we met often and spoke daily.

That being said, it doesn't matter a lot. I had gone for the interview, but we met some applicants whose fiancees were not there and it did not matter. Their applications were approved as well. And your fiancee can always show that you weren't there only because you couldn't take more time off due to your father's death.

  2. While entering the country on K-1, my fiancee(now wife) was told not to leave the country till she got her AP or GC.

If I were you, I would make the trip either before your fiancee enters the US or after she gets her AP/GC.

We have made a few trips on AP but the time at the POE takes longer (something to keep in mind incase you have a connecting flight soon after landing at the POE).

  3. New Jersey:

Dr. Marciano A Tiu Figueroa, Jr

North Hudson Community Action Corporation Health Center at Hoboken (Family Practice)

124 Grand Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030

    (201) 795-9521

Cost: Co-pay ($10) for full medical

CBP & USCIS lost my wife's medical (done in Canada).

Dr. Figueroa's office said that the medical comes under annual physical and since my wife was on my health insurance, it cost us only our copay to get the entire medical done again. (vaccinations had already been done, so if you need that done, or don't have insurance, the costs might be higher)

Dr. Figueroa did not charge anything extra for filling the forms. *

*Again, your mileage may vary depending upon what all is needed and your insurance plan.

  4. Hi,

My wife entered from Canada on a fiancee visa and thus had done her medical there.

We got an RFE for a 693. We had the vaccination portion completed by the civil surgeon and submitted that.

Today we got another RFE saying that The U.S Department of State medical forms DS-2053, DS-3024, DS-3025 and DS-3026 are not in any of those records. And the entire medical has to be redone.

Is there anyway we can get around this?

    Thanks,

    Shri

  5. Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of going to a Civil Surgeon in NYC/NJ and not shelling out $200-$300 for the physical?

My wife came in as a fiancee from Canada and did her physical there in April of this year.

(I have left a message for Dr. Arnold in TX, but I want to find out other options if sending the docs over will take time).

    Thanks for your help.

    Shri
