  1. Had you not received an RFE for the I-765 it would have been approved on that date.... Because of the RFE you took your self out of "normal" processing... When did you respond to the RFE?

March 25 they received our response. We are still waiting to hear any news. Also for the I-485 which we filed at the same time- on our case status it's some how still pending on "initial review" which seems absurd after all this time. Anyway, all we can do is wait. . .

  2. Hi everyone,

My husband and I have filed his employment authorization and request for permanent residency, but it has been months-since January. I know the aproximate wait time is about 3 months but as you guys can see its been longer.. We got a RFE for the employment authorization, which we sent in. It seems like this whole process is taking a long time- from what I've seen in the time lines, it's taking other people much less time. Is anyone experiencing the same wait time currently? The USCIS 800 number is not much help either because they cannot tell us anything detailed other than "3 months, sorry". Any thoughts as to whether they may be backed up, or if this kind of wait is normal? We're getting kind of worried about how long it is going to take for him to have work..

  3. I recently was given a full time position at my work, but my most recent tax forms from 09 reflect only my annual income with part time work. Can I state my income as it will be for this coming year, or do I need to have proof of it with my taxes? Or can I make a note along with my taxes and accompanied by a letter from my employer that my income will meet the requirements this year?

Also, if I wanted to just state my income as it was last year (and as the most recent tax returns state), and I asked my mom to be a joint sponser, then would she just fill an I-864 of her own along with mine? -- And if so, on part 3 question 8, where is states to check "I am sponsoring the principal immigrant" and then right below it "yes / no (applicable only in cases with two joint sponsors)", would she just check the first " I am sponsoring the principal immigrant" or does she also need to check "yes" as a joint sponsor, even though there are not Two joint sponsors?

  4. In the form I-864 Question 21 "Household Size", I am told to write the number of persons I am sponsoring which will be "1" (My Husband). Then in the next line it says Persons Not sponsored in this affidavit.. and it tells me to write "1" if I am currently Married. So, the 1 for my husband whom I am sponsoring plus the 1 for myself, plus the one for my "husband" (who is the same person I am sponsoring), somehow leaves me with 3 people in my household.

Am I supposed to leave a "0" in the space for my spouse, and write a 1 for my spouse who I am sponsoring???

    This is confusing.

    Any help?

I guess upon looking at it again I should really put 0 for "spouse" because it is clearly under the "PERSONS NOT SPONSORED"... its just confusing because its asking me if I'm married and ofcourse the answer is yes... but I guess the fact is my spouse is the person being sponsored.. and I don't have a spouse who is not being sponsored..

  5. Yes, my social security card specificly states "WITH WORK AUTHORIATION". I'm not sure how misinformed I could be about a such a simple statement. The social security rep. filed my s.s.c. this way because my I-94 was stamped with temporary work authorization. Whether or not that allows my SSC to have work authorization, My card does indeed have that I am allowed to work. So, the question remains.. but I will just file EAD to be safe.

  6. Advance Parole is for emergent personal or bonafide business reasons only.
    Nope.
Are u sure?! What does USCIS say about the use of AP?
All kinds of threads in this very forum talk about the matter. My own wife used her AP for a day-trip vacation to Mexico. As long as you have the approved AP form (in duplicate, until you use it the first time), it can be used for any reason. Readmission to the U.S. remains at the discretion of CBP at POE, of course.

You did not answer my question, what does USCIS say about the use of AP?

I know people use it for all sorts of reasons all the time but is it really correct to advise others that they can use it for any purpose knowing that USCIS have specific reasons for using AP and that is for emergent personal and bonafide business only.

Ive asked this question a couple of times already but I never got a clear answer. I've had an argument/discussion with a MOD in a different thread before but never got a clear cut answer. Once and for all, Id like to here what MODS have to say about this issue.

This is what the TOS say:

"Condone or instruct, either directly or indirectly, others on how to commit fraudulent or illegal immigration activities in any way, shape, manner or method."

this is interesting guys.. i'm listening ...

  7. Hi everyone,

Does anyone know what the rules/exceptions are about traveling outside of the US after fiance's arrival here? We are planning to marry and file AOS right away, and I had the idea to take a trip potentially outside of the country as a little vacation... When is my fiance oficially going to be able to travel outside of the US again, and are there exceptions to that rule?

    Thanks to anyone who replies..

    :star:

  8. Sorry you are in tears.

This is the risk of putting yourself and your family out on the internet. Not everyone is nice out there.

a friend of mine from vj sent me a message on you tube telling me so and so from vj wrote a blog about you and when i went to thje blog thereeeeeeeee was thier pic and thier blog about us,

may i just add again that they were not making fun of you. please go and read the whole article thoroughly. it actually left me in smiles.

and the conclusion of the "horrible blog" was this:

All in all the movie delivers what it promises in the title: a trip to Egypt an American's point of view. If nothing else it give you a real time glimpse into life in Egypt. When you start watching though make the coffee and popcorn first. Once you start you won't be able to stop.

read it, its an honor to all of the time you spent making those short clips to share with the world. thanks:)

  9. And on one more note, if I ever had the desire to post a public piece of work like a video, I would actually feel honored that someone was so moved as to write a whole piece in review of my work. I hope you can try to see the good in it too:) The way I see it, your videos were so different and interesting and honest that someone decided it was worth spending a half hour (or however long) writing alllll about it!!! :) :):star:

  10. It's regretful that someone right here at VJ would use you and your posted material to make sport (or whatever the angle was...) but really now, if you are going to post yourself openly as you have (and I don't fault you for it)

you are going to have to get a thicker skin.

If in fact you really can't stop crying...that is a good indicator you better pull back with the youtube vids lady :)

I didn't see where you named the VJ Jerk who blogged with your stuff..... why not?

welll i did a little research, apparently this person really did make a full out legit blog about what they saw in the videos.

    here it is...

Aisha, I just want to mention also that this person took a *PUBLIC* piece of work that you posted and decided, as they stated, to give it an actual "review". I think this person genuinely enjoyed your videos and thought it would be fun to critique them a little. Take it with a grain (or two) of salt!!

  11. my fiance went to his medical exam, and on the form they gave to him it stated that his history was incomplete. he got 3 vaccinations and some of them were not age appropriate. it also stated that he may be eligible for a "blanket waver" because of the ones he didn't get being not age appropriate. I'm worried this may effect his interview. He didn't have any history of vaccinations. do they give him all the ones mandatory for him to meet requirements of the interview??

He will be fine don't worry about that, that is the way my husbands medical exam read and it all went well.

Which of the doctor's did you both go to?

hey , sorry i didn't respond sooner- we went to dr. khadija .... i forget her name but i'm sure she is the only khadija on the list in casa. she was good, apparantly!

  12. This sounds like an obvious question..

we are hoping to be married in new york city inshallah, and i was looking on their website and i saw that one of the requirements is that you have to have a social security number. Does that mean we have to apply for social security first before we get married? We were planning on going straight to NYC after picking up him from JFK and doing the marriage at a city hall, and then going for a small "honeymoon" trip... I hope this is going to be possible!

From everyone's experiences, what were your first steps after arriving here? How did the official marriage part play out??

Do you mean that you need a social security number when you apply for a marriage license?? Because i am canadian and i didn't need anything other than my name hometown etc..

Yeah... I don't think you need a social security... you're absolutely right......

  13. hey friends

my gf did send the I 129F yasterday by ups , but the problme she forget to sign it ,,,,,,

is that a problme and what they will do please help

Yes they will send it back and she will have to sign it and re-send it Inshallah. She has to be very careful and shoooof dakshi mzien before she sends it!!!! So, let it be a lesson for her to be very careful in the next steps. You are just in the beginning so you have to be patient and just do the best you can.

  14. hey

my question is about that form I 134 , i need it for the k 1 interview ,, is it ok if my fiance and her sister are my supports ??? or i have to get only one

    Morocco embassy

i think u can have only one if he/she required the 2009 poverty guideline .

i also think that US consulat in Morocco do not ask for any affidavit of support i have friend who just came from there with K1 and they never asked him to bring the affidavit of support they will ask u here in US

    GOOD LUCK

    Ahlan,

I'm not sure if you recieved your answer already but from my experience I have learned that you are allowed to have more than one financial support. The only difference is that your fiance will be your sponsor and whoever else is helping her to support you is called your "co sponsor" but your fiance and her sister will both have to fill out an I 134 form. So Inshallah your fiance will send you two I-134 forms (one is hers, one is her sister's) along with all the other papers.
