  1. Dear All,

2 weeks ago I informed you that my visa was granted. My Russell and I were the happiest couple in the world. We had so many plans, but on Feb. 6 God called him and Russ is now with Him.

He died here in Mexico and soon his ashes will fly to the USA. I can't tell you more.

I am tired of living without him

    tired of his absence.

    Rest In Peace

    Russell Allen Ehlers

    I love you my Ehlers

  2. my thoughts for you is to apply for the k1 visa, much easier. You just have to be patient. Just like your mexican SO I waited a very long time to get it, I was also by myself here in Mexico waiting for him. Our main tool of communication was the messenger, emails, and text messages. Again, the fiancee visa is easier to go through.

My So and I wanted to marry here in Mexico and our lawyer in the USA advised us Not to do it and apply for the k1 instead. I waited 10 months to get it.

    This is just an advise.

    Take care

  3. Thanks very much to you all.

We waited for the visa 5 days, so we were stuck in Ciudad Juarez. Believe me I even heard 3 shots at 4.45 am one day, I was so scared. We are safe back home. It was worth all the trouble.

My SO and I are planning to drive from my home town to where he lives in the States. It's going to be another LONG journey.

Thank you all, I now know what k1 happiness means.

  4. Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that my k1 visa was approved!!!! We are still waiting for the DHL package to arrive; not nice to be in Ciudad Juarez just waiting.

This was a real journey but it was worth the trouble. For the ones who have doubts about the difference in age....mine was approved; the Consul was even surprised on the PILE of evidence I brought with me and she checked nothing.

    Oh well, so happyyyy

Good luck for the ones still in this journey.

  5. Hola Lori,

    http://foro.univision.com/univision/board?board.id=visas

  7. Hi Kathy again

My fiance has a question for you: Did you hre an immigration lawyer? He was advised at the beginning of our process by the Immigration office in the city where he lives in the USA that hiring a lawyer to fill out all of the necessary papers and negotiate with USCIS will greatly improve your chances of being approved for the k1 visa. For even the simplest mistakes can add years to the process of obtaining the visa. As I am sure lawyers are expensive, my fiance has already spent over 3000 usd in retaining the attorney, so my fiance advises you guys to engage an immigration lawyer if you have not already done so.

The best of luck to you both.

  8. Hi Kathy,

I am from Mexico and I can perfectly understand Manuel, how he feels like, how patient he has to be. I am in the same situation than him, so Kathy please be patient as my fiance and I have been. It is really frustrating to wait and wait, but that is the only thing to do, no way.

My fiance and I filed the petition in March this year, we already got approved by the USCIS. Now I don't know how long we have to wait for the Ciudad Juarez invitation. Fortunately we can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

    A message for Manuel:

    Siempre piensa positivamente.

Kathy, I hope you get news soon. I wonder why it takes so long, you're not the only ones. Be always positive.

My future husband is right here with me and he also wishes you the best.

    Another one waiting.....

    Gilmore Girl
