To those who went through Mumbai for their interview--can you please tell me, in detail, what you had to submit to VFS?

We had got are interview date in a day. So i Guess it just depends. But Good Luck and hope you get your interview date soon.

Hey ppl My name is Sid. i got married in jan 29,2008 and file I-130 march 2008 and after that my unlucky journy started. evan i am U.S.Citizen they took over1 year to approved my case at USCIS. on may 2009 nvc send me case no. and after that i finish all step without any mistake. but as it again delay processing time. on jan 14, 2010 the NVC has completed case. but they did not issuse interview date for my wife in feb 2010. so here i am trying to find out are there any ppl like me who face same problem? i have another question that how long will it take now for NVC to give my wife interview date for her visa.

Ours took about 60 days to get NOA2. Dont know y is yours taking so long? Let me know if we can help you in anyways. Good luck and hope you get NOA2 coming week.

It's been 3 months for us and still no sign of the NOA2.

If you filed for the CR-1/IR-1 -- how long did yours take? Just so that those of us waiting can garner some hope on specific days.

Such as Day 91. Or Day 120.

JUST BE CONFINDENT AND GIVE ANSWER TO THE POINT N SHORT, THEY NEVER ASKED TO SEE ANY PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP MY HUBBY TOOK 7KG OF PAPERS WITH HIM AND 2 BIG FAT ALBUM THAT WAS ABOUT ANOTHER 8KG. Hi Folks

Just to update you all i had my appointment this morning at the Bridgetown Barbados embassy and was approved. I must say it was a breeze. The actual interview lasted less than 10 minutes. The actual waiting to get called up to the window was what took up most of my time.

I went to the first window and i was asked for the white envelop attached to the brown X-ray envelop. I detached the white envelop and gave it to the lady. She opened the envelop and gave me what she said was my copy of the results. She asked me one or two questions but she was more interested in my my job as flight attendant and asked me when did i plan on leaving the job. Then i went to sit down

Then i was called to another window this time to do my fingerprint. Once that was done i was told ok return to your seat. Then i was called to the window where the actual interviewer asked me the following questions.

Your husband is the one who filed for you? Yes

Where did you meet? Back home. "Oh he is from the same country as you".

How long has he been in the US?

Who filed for him?

How often did you see each other?

Were either of you married before?

Where does he work

Who lives with him?

That was it.

The most time was spent trying to figur out how best to handle the issurance of the visa as i am a flight attendant and need my passport to travel for work. She cancelled my B1 Visa and C1D Visas as she told me i cannot have 2 valid visas at the same time. She told me that they will try to complete their security checks and issue the Visa tomorrow so i can get my passport back by Wednesday. They were very accomodating. She told me congratulations and gave me a green paper to go pay the DHL courier. And the end as they say was history.

Now keeping my fingers crossed and praying i get my passport back soon as it means i cannot work until i have my passport.

Now i am off to sleep as i did not sleep at all last night.

Oh most important i had a big bag with e-mails, skype chat, telephone bills, insurance documents, and 300 pictures of our wedding, and other pictures ready to show as evidence of a relationship and i was not asked for nothing. I even had the financial evidence, and supporting documents. I noticed that no one had to show them any additional proof of a relationhip. I felt like such a fool after trotting along this big bag of evidence, ready to aim, set, fire at the interviewer. LOL.

Some people were at the counter with the interviewer for quite a long time. I was there for no more than 10 minutes.

Thanks to VJ for making my journey a seamless one. After all that i have read and learnt here i am now giving advise to everyone I know going through the immigration process. Guess i have become quite the immigration expert. LOl

My package has been sent to Mumbai consulate on November 12th.. I am still waiting for the interview date. Actually I am trying to prepare head of time and for that I am looking around on forums for what excatly my wife have to submit to VFS.

I beleive NVC send the whole package to mumbai consulate, then my wife have to submit the copies of I130set, I864 set, DS 230 set not the original because when I submitted DS 230 to NVC I send them the original marriage certi, her birth certi.. I am confused of what have to be submitted to VFS office..

Hey Bigblue,

Did you call NVC about your interview date? As my case was completed on Nov 10th and Nov 12th they had already given me interview date. (Note Nov 11th was US HOLIDAY) About submitting documents to VFS office. I am still doing research on that to tell you truth but I am sure that she has to submit copies of all the set that we submitted to NVC. Also a copy of passport pcc if you did not submitted in DS230 packet. And I will let you know once I am done with my research exactly what docs to be submitted.

MY CASE WAS COMPLETED ON NOV 10TH AND THEY EMAILED ME THE DATE ON 12TH AT 4PM CENTRAL TIME WOW SO FAST. CAN YOU GUYS BELIVE 11TH WAS HOLIDAY STILL THEY DID IT IN A DAY? WE ARE JUST SHOCKED AND HAPPY :dance: :dance: :dance: AT SAME TIME.
