Still in queue since 03/17, I called them today talked to a tier-2 and got basically nothing, wait.

I can't believe that a name change can take so long.

Hey me too! I got interviewed and passed last 02/12/2014 but until now I dont have any update yet, not even a "in queue" letter. I tried to request an infopass but they said I am still in the processing period of 6 months. It is very frustrating. I had a name change, coz I followed my customary change of using my maiden name as my middle name and legally use my hubby's last name. Its ridiculous coz SSA had approved it when I got married 4 years ago.

Well, what else can I do? Nothing. I guess I will just have to wait like I always do. Still lucky to be where I am now, that's for sure

Finally received my oath letter today. Ceremony is at the courthouse on April 24th.

Now to keep patient lol..

ravi_niu i can see we both have almost the same timeline for citizenship and we have the same field office. did you get any updates yet for oath schedule? i did not get any notification for que yet. i so wanted to get an infopass if i dont hear anything by the end of March. i think they are delayed. my interview with the IO last 02-12 was so slow and it took him at least an hour to interview and review each of his assigned applicants. he approved my application and gave me the paper though but until now no news. so frustrating

I am gathering all the documents I need for my application for Naturalization. I just found out that my husband's US passport expired last year. I read on the requirements that they need proof of your spouse being a US Citizen. Is it really necessary to have an updated copy? I have all other proofs of our marriage. I am just hesitant to send an expired copy, although I can support it with his Driver's License....

Any thought would be appreciated... Thanks!

Hi everyone! I need your opinion. I will be visiting the Philippines by October to attend my brother's wedding. I entered US with a K1 visa. However, I have not made a change of name in my Philippine passport so it is still under my maiden name. All of my legal ID's and documents here in the US are under my married name though.

Question #1:

If I book a ticket, should I use my maiden name since my passport is still unchanged?

Question #2:

They say I will just need to bring my marriage certificate so that when I come back, the US immigration can verify along with my green card and passport. Will it cause delay or problem at the airport coming back?

Question #3:

I am in the process of renewing my Removal of Conditions since I entered US with a K1. I have received a letter of extension valid for one year until May 2013. Will this cause delay or problem too?

Anyway, anyone of you who have similar experiences please share it here. At least I can make decisions and won't waste time, money, and effort. Thank you!

I received my NOA1 yesterday, although my check was not cleared yet in my checking account. It stated that my conditional resident status has been extended for a period of one year and that I am authorized employment and travel. Yey!

Anyway, I know this question sounds stupid but I want to be sure... this means I can leave the country and travel abroad without getting a Parole Visa, right? My husband and I are planning to visit my home country this October and I do not want any problem at the immigration....

What do you guys say?

I assume your talking about Advanced Parole?

You do realize that if USCIS knows she left the country before it was approved then it will be denied, right? Not only that but her AOS will also be denied!

I am aware of that. But wht I meant was her Advanced Parole has been approved when she checked her online status before she left US, but the printed document has not arrived in mail yet.... now she wants me to check her mailbox and mail it to her non-US address....

A friend of mine is still waiting for AOS approval. She renewed her parole visa because she wanted to go home to her own country for vacation. The problem is, she did not get the approved document yet on the mail and she already left US. Now, she made inquiry at the local US embassy in her country and asked if the immigration at the POE would allow just a printed copy/document of the approved parole visa because she wants to return to US and go back to her job. THEY SAID NO.

So now, she asked me to receive the letter when it will be delivered to her house and have it mail to her non-US address. I am a little concerned for her. Will she have a problem at the POE considering that she left the US without the approved document? Just curious if anyone in this site has the same experience as she has..... I would appreciate your responses......

Received my green card last Monday on the mail... expires 2012. Finally!!! So now, taking a break from USCIS until May or June of 2012... Hope to hear from you all then! To those who got approved, congratulations! And those still waiting, just be patient.. everything will be in place at the right time... God luck everyone!

Try to get an infopass at your local USCIS office and explain the situation as soon as possible. The earlier they will know, the less questions they might ask...

My Wife entered at JFK on Aug 31 on her CR1 visa with the sealed brown envelope. She showed the envelope to the passport control officer there who opened the envelope and stamped her passport and wrote the A-number there as well as on the white paper that was on top of the brown envelope. He then returned the contents of the envelope. The officer asked her about the cat which she had brought with her and said that she needed to go into the room to the right.. She thought that she needed to go there for the cat to be checked. When in the room, she was asked why she was there, and she said that she had a cat. They told her she didn't need to be there and she left for customs. At customs, they told her she needed to go back to that room and have her customs form signed there, which they did. Then she was allowed to leave through customs. We are worried now that she was supposed to give her papers to someone in that room which we now think must have been the Immigration Hall and that they should have processed these papers in order for her to get her Green Card to be sent. The question is, now what? How can we fix this? What can we do to get her Green Card? Is the stamp and the A-number that the officer put there the "endorsement" that is supposed to be done for the I-551 temporary green card on her visa in her passport?

Just try to call them and inquire about your case. If you are way beyond the processing time they will file a service request for you. I got that email too twice maybe a week ago. If you will look at my timeline, I got transferred to CSC March 9.... So I inquired about the status, and 2 days after, I got approved. The agent told me an officer from the local USCIS office where my jurisdiction is will review my papers... But my approval letter was from CSC. So it wasn't transferred at all....

Just try to ask..... It wont hurt anyway...

Hi All...I need some help. Today I recieved a status change saying: Initial Review

On September 14, 2010, we transferred this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location for processing because they now have jurisdiction over the case. We sent you a notice of this transfer. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

My case was transferred to CSC in March and then it was sent to a local office. Now it was sent to NBC. Does anyone knows what this means?

I can't believe it! It was only last Friday 09/10/2010 that I called the customer care for USCIS to file a service request for my AOS application. After the weekend, came Monday, 09/13/2010, WE GOT APPROVED!!! Thank you so much God!!!! It really did help calling the customer care.... So for those of you who are still waiting for approval, go grab your phone asap then make a service request stat!!!

Our timeline is similar... touches on 8/5 and 8/6 then nothing. I called USCIS on 9/2 and they sent a service request to the CSC. On 9/9 (yesterday) I received an email saying that my case status had changed to "Decision". The wording of the email is odd (see below) so I don't know whether my GC is accepted or denied... I guess I wait for the mailed letter or the next email?

Any senator in your state will do.. Even congressman (I think).. But be sure to check their website first. You have to submit some documents to them before they can help you with your case.

Did you contact your senator or called the USCIS for a service request?? 2 weeks ago the IO made a service request for us and we also contacted our senator. I think that will help make the process go faster.

Silly question but I have no idea... how will I know who to contact for a senator in my state? Is there a specific website to search for? I have been trying to google some names under the state where I am now but I just want to be sure I will be calling the correct one who can really help me with the process rather than just let it sit on the desk for nothing too.....

I got another touch for my AOS today... still under intial review and it says from CSC it has been transferred to a local USCIS office. Oh God... it's taking forever!!! It has already been 7 months! Way out of the processing time... How about those people who have the same timeline as mine? Do you have any updates regarding your application???

we filed ours in february 2,also and they sent it to csc too,we finally received 2 year green card august 14 and never had to do an interview, it just came in the mail!!!

Hi everyone! I want to know your opinion about our situation. My husband (USC) and I applied for AOS last February and until now are waiting for approval. Last March it was sent to CSC but no updates yet ever since the last touch dated August 12.

I am a nurse and when I got my EAD last May I have started working at a hospital. Two weeks ago, my husband and I decided that he quit his job and take up nursing school while I work full-time, having realized that his hourly rate before is only half of the base pay of a RN. Since we both wanted him to start the FALL term, we made the impulsive decision and we forgot to consider that my AOS is still pending, and that him being my "sponsor" is important...

Now my question is, if our application will be sent back to a local office and we will be interviewed, will this be an issue considering that my husband is the sponsor and this time he is back to school and I am the one working full-time... ???

I guess no one has the same experience as I have ... now I am having regrets with the decision we impulsively made.........................
