For a few quid extra (far less than the change fee on the flight) the courier will be delivering before noon tomorrow! It is confirmed.

Approved November 30 and visa now with DX!! We are trying to arrange for a Saturday delivery instead on Monday so we can keep our original flight plan. God is good!!

We got approved on the 30th on November. Still nothing on the website and no text. Not sure why? Anyone else in the same situation?
Yes. We were approved on Nov 30 and nothing. We called the courier to confirm and they said they do not have our visa. There are now 2 people I know who were approved on Dec 1 who have received a delivery notification. I guess they do not process them in any particular order!

OMG...I just got the courier text. I can't believe it...it's only been 2 days since interview and my visa will be here tomorrow! I've checked the website and it's there to be delivered. I'm so happy but at same time feel bad that it's been so quick when so many have been waiting longer than me. It seems that London are over their back log and I pray that everyone gets their visas asap. I'll save my happy dance until the visa is in my hand!
That's awesome! Congratulations. Are you also able to track it online or is the website still saying that there is no information available?

I checked on the courier website just a few minutes ago and it shows that the visa is to be delivered tomorrow 12/3. It does not show a time but just a date. David has not received a text message as of yet with more specific details but was told that sometimes they will not send them. I will post once it has been delivered. From our timeline it is 1 week and 2 days from the interview date for delivery. That could be because of the holiday that caused the delay and may not be the case for everyone.
Had you checked it already today? I am trying to work out if the courier's site is updated throughout the day or just once every 24 hours. I believe it is the latter... it is not a "live" tracking system like UPS or FedEx.

I called DOS today and was told that they usually show when the visa has been printed and according to our case number, it has not.
Sorry for being so naive, but what is the DoS number and will they be able to provide information on other visas besides K-1? Which case number do you provide? CIS or NVC?

Has anyone had an interview / visa approval in London recently? How long did it take for your visa to arrive by courier? The embassy is saying 3-5 business days but I was wondering whether that ties with actual experiences?

The plans you linked to are bridge plans until they qualify for government run healthcare.
Yes... sorry My original phrasing was confusing. We will exercise as much prudence as we can to protect our health and finances. We will use the bridge plan until they can apply for Medicare and pay the premiums.
What I meant was that we value being together as a family higher than the financial security of having them stay in the UK (where they have "free" healthcare).

It depends on their ages, the low limits would be my main concern, but like you say it is something assuming they are otherwise in good health.
Thankfully yes. According to their doctor and the embassy doctor they are both in remarkably good health for their age. We understand that could change overnight but we would rather trust God and be together as a family than for them to live out their days alone under government run healthcare.

My parents had their IR-5 visa interviews in London today. Their appointment was at 9AM so they got in line outside at 8:30AM. It was pouring with rain and freezing cold but there is no covered area to wait so make sure you take an umbrella (you are allowed to take them inside!) Despite speaking to the security guards and showing their appointment letters, they were not allowed in until 9:20AM.
Once inside they were given an appointment number. They were allowed to do everything together as a couple so they only had one number. They waited for around an hour and a half before being called to the first window. Everything went fine except the lady struggled to get an acceptable set of fingerprints which is apparently common with people their age.
About 45 minutes later they were called to meet with a consular officer. The CO went over their paperwork but the only questions she had related to their medicals. She did question how they were going to get health insurance. My parents responded that I had researched their options and had found a plan that would cover their age range. The officer accepted that as they had no other proof with them.
The officer told them that she was approving their visas, had them swear/affirm the necessary statements and told them to go and pay the courier. They were told the visas take 3-5 business days (including the day of interview) to be delivered.
They were out of the Embassy by noon.

The document checklist sent with the appointment letter stated that all requirements had been met and that they did not need to bring any additional items to interview except for their photos, passports and appointment letters.Should I send them photocopies of everything that I submitted on their behalf as the petitioner (I-864, original I-130 etc.)? The embassy appointment letter states that those documents have been accepted so is this even necessary or should we do it anyway for prudence sake?

No they dont need anything else for the interview. My parents took a copy of everything that had been sent to USCIS and NVC they were not asked for any of it, so Dad had carried a heavy bag all the way from the hotel for nothing..
As long as everything is checked off on the checklist they are good to go..

Mum and dad had their visa medical in London today. Everything went fine and the doctors said they were in very good health for their age. Next stop... the Interview (in 53 days!)

Not quite sure how, but my interview date disappeared as this table has progressed so I am just adding it back in!

Both cases completed at NVC!! Praise the Lord!
We are now awaiting the Interview Date for the embassy. Apparently they schedule those once a month and I just missed London's scheduling so I will not hear anything until around the second week of October. According to the lady at the NVC, at that point they will be scheduling interviews for November but as they always have more interviews needing to be conducted than can be scheduled in one month they said I may be bumped to December.

Hey guys,
I just called NVC and they assigned case numbers to my partents files. I have both case numbers, I already provided my email to them. Then I asked oprater If she can give me Invoice ID number, she said no she dont have access and they will send me via email in next 2 to 4 weeks.
I am going to call again to get IIN number... I am not sure if they will send me via email... Richard and Tay any thought???

They will send an email to both the petitioner and beneficiary when the DS-3032 has been generated and the AOS fee is payable. The email will contain an attachment with the IIN number. There is not much point in pushing them for this ahead of time as you will be unable to pay the AOS fee until it is invoiced at which point you will receive the email anyway.

I spoke with the NVC and they told me I need a German Police check despite being told twice by the US Embassy in London that it was covered by my RAF record of service.
I have just printed off the documents and have now to take these to the local Police Station for Authorisation. Then a DHL package to Germany.
Add to that stress we now have the threat of UK Postal Strikes.
Richard... SO sorry! That is incredibly frustrating. I hope you are able to get the certificate quickly and that things move forward fast. I know you don't want to be in temporary housing very long!!
I am very nervous that we will have something missing. With M&D living in so many different places I expect they will want something we haven't provided even though we have already sent 10 police certificates with the original DS-230.

Richard and ptrober, any progress on your cases?
I sent my DS230 in today by express mail. That is all they are waiting on. They told me that my AOS was approved (it took about 4 business days after they received it). Given how quickly they processed the AOS, I am hoping that I may be finished at the NVC by the end of next week.

My emailed DS3032 has finally been received. Similar to Richard, I discovered this by the IV bill showing as NOT PAID rather than receiving the bill by email. So I have paid the bills online and will no doubt receive the emails later today when the NVC's overnight processing catches up!

My emailed DS3032 was finally accepted yesterday and the IV bill was payable this morning. This means that it took 15 days for them to process my email versus the 4-5 days they are taking with snail mail.
Finally we are moving again!!
