  1. Hi Guys!

I sent off my AOS forms on May 5th, received in Chicago on May 6th. NOA received May 18th. Check cashed :)Nothing has been 'touched' yet, and no Biometrics Appt letter...you would think that after the LONG K1 process I would have patience sorted by now, but still getting impatient!

btw..and I know I should know this...I'm still not sure how to get my time line in my signature...hmmm..

All the best to you all!

  2. I just checked my online status today to see that it hadn't touched (NOA1 was 30/06/09) and then got on the phone to my fiancé to vent about my frustrations...well....

then I came back to the laptop, and for some reason checked again, and they must have just updated their system because we finally have our first touch! (Besides NOA1 of course).

Now, I know that we could still get RFE etc etc but I'm just SO happy that someone is finally looking at our application!! I hope the NOA2 follows shortly!!!

  3. Hi all!

I am a South African living in Ireland and have been here for over 8years now :) Well I am marrying the man of my dreams soon (visa permitting!) and I need to get a police clearance certificate from the Gardai...only when I went to my local station (in Bray, Co.Wicklow) they said that they don't issue them? Can someone please give me some advice?!

    Thanks a million

  4. Thanks guys :) I'm so glad I found this website! We're still waiting for our NOA1 (I think that's what it is called)....I guess by the end of this all i will really know the meaning of patience!

Me and my fiance are going to have a wedding ceremony (but not a legal one) in South Africa in December so hopefully we don't have to spend too much time separated after that! The ideal situation would be that it is all sorted by the end of December but even if it isn't it will be ok....we have the rest of our lives to look forward to :)

All the best to you all!

  5. Hi!!

So, I've been reading visajourney for some months now but finally got round to setting up an account and actually posting something...hopefully I do this correctly!

My wonderful fiance and I submitted the our I-129F package on Friday! Woohoo :) I'm so glad the process is on it's way, now I just have to pray for patience and that it all goes smoothly!

Perhaps I should put a bit of our story on here?! We met in March last year in Canada where we were both in Worship School - we were there for 5months. Oh yeah, I am from South Africa (but have been living in Ireland for the past 8 years) and Andy (my fiance) is from Ohio. So in July last year we finished our course in Canada - he went back home, and I came back here for Ireland. To cut a long story short - we kept in touch - I went and visited in December, and we officially started dating then. And surprised him with a visit in March (thanks to his lovely family who paid for the flight!), and then he came over here last week, when we got engaged!!

Anyway, we are applying to have the visa processed in South Africa because I am going to go back there in November, and will stay there until my visa is processed. I can't wait!

Well I suppose I should go - I'm looking forward to having a bit of support on here, and following the stories of the so many people in the same position!
