Did you include a copy of the I-797C receipt notice for the I-485?
I did not. It was not included with the instructions. Only that no fee was necessary. Good idea though for anyone else reading the forum. One would think that the process of approval would include looking at the case on file. As I said no harm as her green card came two days later.

We need some advice here. When my fiancé and I returned to the US we left her son in Ukraine to finish school. Her son was not included in the K1 visa application although documented as her son with birth certificate. Strangely enough there was no interview prior to the issuance of her green card. My wife has her two year green card now and her son, age 17, has finished school. What is the process and for us to bring him over at this time?

We filed for an AP and it was sent back because there was no check attached.
It was my impression that the money sent for the adjustment of status includes an advanced parole if needed.
No problem thought because two days later my wife's green card arrived.

If I remember correctly, I think in Ukraine the cut-off for the permission slip is 16
Any idea how I can find out.

When we initially filed the K1 visa my fiancés son wanted to stay in Ukraine to finish school. Consequently he was not included on the original application with his mother.
We were married last December, biometrics now complete and we are waiting for the interview process. In the mean time her son, who is 17 years old has decided he wants to join us here in the US.
Can anyone advise me as to the best course of action to accomplish his request?

Hey everyone, I know the he went to a lot of time and expense to get her here but that is a small risk when you consider that she left everything behind for him. All he has lost is a little time and money. She, on the other hand has lost her job and probably her place to live. Not to mention the social stigma of retuning after being with her man for three months without a chaperon. At the least he should support and offer to help her get her life back together when she returns. Then again I am old school and cherish women and know they should be respected.
Having said that, we don’t know his side of the story, people change when they start living together. None the less, he has made a promise to her and entered into an implied contract and has some moral obligation to her, as well as she to he. Perhaps a little counseling and a lot of prayer are in order here.
Bring my wife’s grand niece to the US
in Bringing Family Members of Permanent Residents to America

Hi,
My wife’s niece, who lives in Ukraine is very ill with a brain tumor and may not survive. She is unmarried with one four year old daughter. What I would like to know is what would be the procedure for us to bring my wife’s grand niece to the US to live with us should her mother not survive?
Thank you for any help,
Jerry and Nataliia
