  1. Hi, someone I know arrived here on a K1 visa and the marriage did not work out. He applied for my ROC petitioning to receive the 10 year green card with the divorce decree since he married in good faith. A few weeks after he applied, he was convicted of possession of a controlled substance (marihuana). will this affect his chances of being granted the green card? will USCIS hear about the misdemeanor and can he be deported?

    thank you.

  2. Just curious cause I am from NY (NYC)too...was your case transferred to CSC before the notice of interview? I thought that NY was backlogged at least 9 months. Sorry for being off topic...

:ot2: I hope you hear good news soon.

No my case wasn't transferred. I wish it had been cause then maybe we wouldn't have to be in limbo.....the office was pretty crowded but we only had to wait about 45 minutes and the interview was pretty fast.

From what I understand, sometimes the IO at the interview does not have the authority to approve and needs to report to a supervisor? I've heard of cases similar to yours or even some where it looked pretty bad and in the end they were approved within a week.

:ot: I feel it's RIDICULOUS that after all the time you wait and all the money you spend they can't at least tell you approved, denied or just "I approve you but this still needs to go to a supervisor" . Limbos are no good!

    Ok, the vent is over...

that's what is so weird. He didn't say we are approved. He was nice in the end after the really rough grilling. I was noticeably stressed and he sort of said not to worry too much. But it wasn't very reassuring.

  3. Hi. My husband and I had our interview today in NYC. We were not approved immediately. They gave us a letter saying our case is being held for file review before a decision can be made. Of course we are really upset and nervous. I read that this happens and I am curious if anyone has been denied...i see people are approved, but we are scared we will be denied. We don't know why they held the case. We thought it was an open and shut case.

Any information would be very appreciated!

    thanks.....

  4. Hi!! I am trying to call the Spanish consulate but nobody answers ever and it is really urgent. My boyfriend is not in Spain now but he lived there before and we need to get his police certificate for when he lived there. I can't seem to find out how to do this. It's very urgent since our interview is less than 2 weeks away.

thanks so much for any help or guidance you can give me to do this quickly!!! I have friends in Spain who say they will do whatever I need help doing.

Sorry if i posted this in the wrong forum, I couldn't figure out who to put it in Spain forum either (this is not my day i guess...)

    thanks so much!!!

  5. I called NVC this past Friday August 28th and was told that my case/petition was received on Monday August 24th and that I am in AP. Yesterday I received a letter from NVC stating: "this letter is to let you know that within a week the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa issuing post where your visa interview will take place". And it has the State dept. case #. Has anybody else who is stuck in AP at NVC also received a letter like this. I thought you only get a letter after they have sent your case to the Embassy.

I was told I was in AP too, but then my case was sent off to the embassy a few days later. And yes, I did get that letter.....so maybe your case will move quickly

  6. I just heard that NVC has my case and it is in administrative processing before they send to consulates office. Can I make an interview date even though the applications is in this process??? I was hoping to make the interview now since I know it will take a long time to set the date.

Anyone with Cuban fiance have administrative processing???

    HELP!! thanks
