Emily's status fixing to change in a few days, Visa expiring,,,married now but no green card. Should DHS be notified she is married? Green card will NOT be obtained for awhile, cant afford it.

I have read a few times that when your fiancee' arrives in the U.S., you are to get her a Social Security card ASAP and not even wait a few weeks until you are married. Why? Why the urgency??? Also we have run into this problem with the Manila airport. For some foul reason, these fools need to know WHO paid for the plane ticket. WHY do they care WHO paid for the ticket? What and WHY do they need to know? Answers???

Kind of a screwy thing. When we set up our interview date, it asked if we wanted the VISA delivered or held for pick up. They use some service called 2GO. I put down pick up and it even said that on our interview confirmation letter BUT they delivered it anyway. Weird man, they dont get much right. Luckily, Emily was home when it arrived, whew and better yet, I was chatting with her at the same time. Great to have it in hand, just beware.

APPROVED....Amen, thank you Lord, but I wish the Embassy wouldv'e handled it better. They told her to "go home" and her Visa would be mailed to her. I havent got to talk to Emily much about it yet because she is exhausted, couldn't sleep all night, had to get up at 4 am, whew, glad it's behind us. Will post a good update for you ASAP.

Packet three are all of the forms for the beneficiary to fill out and send directly into the Embassy. Including biographic data and also a DS2001 Form which when signed states the beneficiary is 'interview ready' meaning she/he has all of the certificates to hand (marriage, divorce, police etc whichever ones the dealing embassy requires). When they get this infomration from this packet back....then they will move onto packet four....the interview date.

Hello ruizloi, I am sorry it took me so long to respond. VJ is confusing to me sometimes. Where in Tenn does he live? I live in Mt Juliet just outside of Nashville. Was your RFE difficult or easy to respond to? Ours didn't make for much of a delay.
