  1. So If I am a US citizen trying to petition my parents for green card, I know I have to submit a 864 for aos. I do not work though and my brother who is also a US citizen (now) is taking on the financial responsibility of my parents.

My question is, do I have to still submit my tax returns which are basically joint with my husband as he is the only one who works in our household. I am trying to avoid sending that in since my brother is willing to fully cover the finances. He will be sending in a full completed 864 form so do I still have to submit my joint tax return records?

    Hope that makes sense

  2. jwife seems to be on the spot atleast with our interview as well he seemed more interested in our proof of residency more. he also took a few of our wedding photos and kept him, he stapled them inside our big file he had kept our bank statemnt and bank letter stating joint account plus we gave an affidavit from my parents stating we live with them.

just checkd the uscis site today and it got touched as well on aug 11:) saying card production has been orderd its great to see the last dot filled since throughout our case the initial review was always filled, they never updated it since they recieved our aos aplication....so anyone who has no touches, dont worry they might not do any touches at all...

anyone have an idea of the average time it will take to recieve the card after card production ordered? anyways good luck to evryone again!

  3. heyy guys! i jus got back from our interview

it went well we brought a bag full of documents but he just looked at pictures, and proof of residncy. all went really well and pretty smoothly he just kept looking through our file asked my husband (the beneficiary) a series of questions like have u ever been..... all the ones in the 485 question then asked how we met etc. anyways the whole thing was about 10 mins and in the end he gave us our conditional 2 year approval :) gave us an approval letter and said we will recieve the green card in mail in 10 to 15 days.

hope evryone elses goes as smooth thanks all for all your support and help good luck to evryone!

    our passports, birth certificates

    wedding photos

photos of our small trips and just of us hanging out

    official copy of marriage certificate

bank statement with both our names

letter from bank stating have a joint account together

affidavit from our parents stating we live in their house (since im a full time student and he has yet not recieved his work permit)

also all our copies of our form 485 that we already sent to them along with copies of the affidavit of support which includes my mom as co sponsor so will take copies of her passport and her original tax returns and w2 forms.

is there anything that im missing out?

  5. Hey all you april filers, a little help since most of you have had experienced more of this process by now,

our interview is on aug 11 any advice on what we should be collecting to take to it right now? does anyone have a nice simple list of documents that are good to take with us. Also, will we have to fill out a new affidavit of support to take to the interview or the copy of the one we sent with the AOS should be sufficient? Not much has changed for us in that since my husband still has no EAD.

Another concern i have is that we have no bills together since we live with my parents right now....once my husband gets proper work authorization he can work and we can get our own place. Besides a notarized letter from my parents stating we live at their house, what other documents can we give to show proof? Even his cell phone is prepaid so theres no bill and Tmobile didnt let me add his name to my bill because he has no credit history. I feel we may not have much documents to show will that be a problem?

any advice, suggestions etc will be helpful! thanks in advance

  6. Hi! I would recommend posting this question to April or earlier filers (also found on visajourney.com) because a lot of them have already been through this process. And if could- repost back to the June filers?! :innocent: A lot of us are in line to do these interviews this month.

good idea let me copy paste this ill fill you in for watevr results i get ! thanks :)

If you check May filers, they have lots infor for interview preparation!

    Congrats again :)

how did you find out your case was transfered to the cali service center? was that on your online touch? I think you might not even need a interview then? hope you get the green card very soon! :)

  9. hey guys we sent our aos package june 2nd and did biometrics june 25th, we got no touches except the first time which was from june 8th. we recently got interview date this past thurs (jul 11). so our interview will be aug 11! we werent realy expecting it since we saw no touches but nonetheless greatful for it so in case anyone else is worried ther case has got no touches, just be patient not all cases wil show touches online i guess. We have yet to hear bout the EAD hopefully we will get that soon as well.

  10. i am trying to fill out a i-864 form for my now husband who came on a k-1 visa however the confusion i am running into is that since i have been a full time student, (never been employed) I dont know how to show that on this form. specifically on part 6 it says unemployed since ______ if i hav never worked, should I write any date or just write full time student?

in 24 i will write my mother as income im ussing from other person in household (she is a joint sponsor) but do i leave teh next section #26 federal income tax return info blank?

  11. Hi I need a little help on figuring out this form i864....i am currently unemployed, ending school now but i have zero income.(i have been in medical school and should be ending in June 2010). My mom will be sponsoring my fiance. (we will be getting married in a bout a week and will file all this immediatly after hopefully!). Do i still have to fill out a i864 as well as my mom as if we are joint sponsors or is it only my mom that fills it out as the only sponsor?

  12. If you go to the forms page on the US Embassy London website (sorry, my computer's being stupid and only allowing 1 browser at the mo so I can't give you a link, just google it.) there is a 'form' (go to visas/forms) that gives all the information about the medical including what innoculations people have to have.

Some, such as varicella, are unavailable in the UK and if he had chicken-pox as a child he's not going to need that one. Most of the others are age related. If he's 30 then he might fall into the category of not having to have the vaccinations. Tetanus, diptheria and polio are all contained in once innoculation and he can get that free from his GP (that's what I did because I needed to prove the tetanus booster). I would have thought that he'd have had MMR at 13 like most people.

Anyway, check out the website and see what it says about what he'll have to have.

    Good luck for the medical.

Thanks for your help! he actually got his interview visa in UK as he was there as a student but he is from pakistan so he has not had any vaccinations done, so with that background wondering if they will jus require all of it
