I need help on what to put on my w-4. single or married. Right now I am in the process of file i-130. On my W-4 form, it said If married, but withholding at single rate, select Single status. Note: if married, but legally separated, or spouse is a nonresident alien, select Single status.

I am thinking that I should select Single because my wife is not here yet. So does that consider her as a nonresident alien???? anyone know what which one i should pick?????? thankss

The bigger the number the lower the withholding will be. Put what you want. When I was single I claimed six and still got a big refund. These are guidelines intended to control how much income tax comes out of your paycheck. Do you want a big refund or a bigger paycheck?

I only concert about my wife when she go to the interview. If i put single, it will show up on my paystub as single. will this put my wife in danger of failing the interview??? the form said put single if spouse is a nonresident alien what does that mea??? thanks

I dont know what I should put on my w-4 form. This is what on the form: Indicate Marital Status ( Single or Married) If married, but withholding at single rate, select Single status. Not: If married, but legally separated, or spouse is a nonresident alien, Select Single status.

I am in the process of bring my wife over. If i put single it will look bad on the interview, but it seem like I have to put myself single because my wife is a nonresident alien. I need some advices on this.
