  1. Hello Khmerboy,

Assuming everything is good at NVC, you will receive an appointment e-mail or letter (if you do not have e-mail).

Then you can go to Cambodia and stay until interview if you like.

Common practice is to buy round trip ticket for yourself but leave the return date as open.

Your wife can come to the US anytime after she is granted a visa. Now you can go to travel agency in Phnom Penh and buy one way ticket for your wife and have your return date assigned the same date with your wife.

  2. There should not be problem because the I-134 is already filed and the interview is very soon.

He is just "planning", so do not stress out about it. Besides, as long as he is working and earn enough money to meet the requirement

    your friend will be fine.

If he does change the job before interview then she can ask him to send her the new job description and the address of his new employment

and employment letter. If he has enough time he can redo the I-134 to reflect the new job and give to her to take to the interview.

    Hope this will help.

  3. Hello ALL,

I have read about visa denial because of a couple got to know each other through a relative, especially the beneficiary's.

Many people believe that CO will consider it a red flag and deny the visa.

(Red flag because of money changes hand)

But for many Asian countries couple know each other through relative and this is the norm. Many people do not have access to internet to meet people on facebook

or dating sites, they just have regular cell phone at best.

If this is true, people in rural area will have hard time facing the CO who thinks

couple have to know each other by themselves.

Now let's hear from you, especially those who have been intoduced by a relative.

What was the outcome of the interview?

    What was CO reaction?

    Thanks
  4. I am very sorry to hear about the denial of visa.

Since you have already married with her (even though not legally) you have a huge obligation to make sure she get to the U.S.

Please do not rush your next steps. Spend time and do more research. If you have to marry for real this time then go for it.

From reading in this forum there will be a lot of explanations from you and her in the next interview. I think you should be there again to prove that you care for her. Be prepared for tough questions.

    I wish you luck.

  5. Hello 129FK1,

DS-160 replaces all the forms you mentioned above.

Here is the link to the instruction from the Phnom Penh embassy.

    http://photos.state.gov/libraries/cambodia/231771/PDFs/k1_visa_instruction_english_08_16_13.pdf

By the way, how did you send photos to USCIS when you sent in Form 129F. I heard you can put them in a plastic bag, other said to print them in regular paper

I hope you can share your experience.

    best of luck

Please read the link above carefully. That is instruction from Phnom Penh embassy. It tells you exactly what you need to do.

It gives you the link to fill out your form DS-160 online. By the way, DS-260 is for Married couple. You are K1 and you need DS-160 as instructed by the embassy.

For convenience, here is the link again.

    http://photos.state.gov/libraries/cambodia/231771/PDFs/k1_visa_instruction_english_08_16_13.pdf

Wish you luck and please keep posting/sharing the progress of your journey.

  7. Hello Heng Heng

    Happy for you.

Hare is the answer I found from Our portal written by X2BW (Nob Jet).

Nob Jet just got K1 visa on 10-24-13. Congrat.

    Here it is:

What you need to do now while you wait for the embassy to recieve your case:

Fill out I134 and gather all the document that support that form: employment letter, bank account verification, life insurance if you have it, copy of W2, copies of pay stub for at least 6 months if you have it.

Fill out the other form for your fiancee and make a note on where she needs to sign and date.

Once of have all of the above mail it to her. If she recieves the document prior to you hearing from the embassy then it is OK. Tell her to wait and hold on to it. Then as soon as you find out that the embassy received your case and ready for Packet 3 you can tell your fiancee to sign and date and mail it to the embassy on the same day. No time is wasted.

After the embassy process packet 3 they will issue you your interview date and once you get the interview date is when you go out and do your medical and gather all other documents that is required at the time of interview.

  8. Hello romanticminds,

It is very nice to hear from you, especially the experience you had at Phnom Penh embassy. As you know, not many Khmer people came back to share their stories and give advice to the next couple.

Please accept my sincere congratulations on your marriage and wish you and your wife best of luck.

  9. Hope and Pray,

Please do not waste anymore time. Read carefully all the above help/advice from good people who care to share.

Follow those you think applied to you and your fiance(e) and start doing it now.

You do not have interview date yet ( from your time line) so you have at least 2 months to make call or send email.

Again, read each and every advice above. I think they cover what you need.

    Good luck

  10. You still have at least 2 more months before interview to come up with more evidences of continuing relationship.

Start now by writing emails to each other daily or weekly what ever you can. Broken English is OK from Cambodia as long as one can tell the meaning.

Start using Rebtel or other phone service that can give you record of call made to Cambodia. A person in Cambodia can go to internet cafe to call you and ask for a receipt each time or if you have ATT or Tmobil you can print your bill showing incoming call from Cambodia.

You must do it now so that at least you have 2 months of evidences.

Phone cards can not tell anybody anything because one can just pick them up from sidewalk.

    Hope this will help.

  11. Sorry you have all this mess.

I think she should not have problems if , like you said, she used different last name to work in Thailand.

Therefore, she is a complete different person as far as paperwork concerns.

Now, she needs to have her passport that matches her real name on her birth certificate that you send with your application.

If there was fingerprints taken when she entered Thailand then it may be problem.

Hope this helps relieve your anxiety a bit.

  12. Hello ALL,

    Need help filling out I-864EZ

Line 18: This I know is my own current income alone, but line 19 is not clear to me.

I am married and filed joint income tax return 2008 and 2009 1040EZ with my husband.

    Question:

    Line 19 Checked Box

[ I have filed a Federal tax return for each of the three most recent tax years. I have attached the

required photocopy or transcript of my Federal tax return for only the most recent tax year.]

Q: Should I check the box or not since my husband and I filed only 2 years (instead of three) of income tax (2008 and 2009).

We did not have income in 2007 so we did not file. We have worked since 2008 till present.

[ My total income (adjusted gross income on IRS Form 1040EZ) as reported on my Federal tax

returns for the most recent three years was ]

Q: Is this joint income for both of us? and do I have to write a letter to explain that

we had no income for 2007 and therefore no income tax filed for that year?

    Thanks

  14. I sent in my I-751 on 7/28/07 to NSC and I got my Notice of Action today 8/20/07 from California Service Center.

The notice date on the receipt was 7/28/07 as well. So I have no idea how the notice date became like that.

The good news is the case is now moving forward.

From reading the previous posts, it seems that most of 7/28/07 applications had been processed by California center.

    Good luck everyone.
