  1. THANK GOD I FOUND THIS FORUM. just had a verybad experience this weekend. i had to send money to the Philippines and used xoom.com and i didnt know that if checking account is being used, it'll take 5 working days for the money to get to the system of ML lhuiller where my hubby can claim the money. i didtn know that... all i was relying to was their ad on tv. they should have mentioned about that... but now??? ill try to go to wells fargo and get some info on the 2.50 charge for money transfer... and also, how can i get that paypal that mentioned on the previous reply?

been using western union for 3 yrs now but its getting expensive already.. we just realized they are charging $1 for the receiver to claim the money and $12 for the sender.

    its getting too much!!!

  4. They would probably want all kinds of evidence to prove she is really your child.

(from my reading, they don't like "tack ons" to approved petitions.)

Lawyer - in this case, may be prudent.

I got a lot of evidence to prove that she is my daughter

  5. you really need a lawyer as this maybe seen as an act of misrepresentation... and may get you booted out of US.

be careful when you seek online advices, i'm not saying all advices here are wrong. you are in a delicate situation

with legalities here, and i hope you won't file anything until you are sure of your rights and the corrective actions you

    may need to take.

Thank you "tngirl21809" for your advice I really appreciate it!!!

    God bless U!

  6. my best advice is to get a lawyer.

have you Adjusted Status already? are you a GC holder now?

exactly, what is you legal status in the US... these may play some role in this situation too.

Yes, I'm a green card holder now and in the process of REMOVAL OF CONDITION right now my husband sent the

    application for I-751 last week.

  7. so your husband lied when on the petition where it asks for him to declare any children that you have?

No he did not intend to lie, during my petition we did not know that she can join the petition and since we have no plan

to bring my daughter here at that time , we thought that we can petition her anyway later

ignorance, innacurate filing or an error of ommision... not much difference if you ask me

yah your right, ignorance is the right word for us , and we accept it... thats why we are here seeking advice for you

guys, and thanks you for all of your responsed

  8. so your husband lied when on the petition where it asks for him to declare any children that you have?

  9. Hi VJer's

I'm a newbie here in VJ and seeking advice I hope anyone else or same situation here can help me !

I came here in the US thru my husband (fiance visa) and we are so happy living together now...

During my petition my husband did not put my daughters name in the appropriate blank, he thought that we can

petition her later, and we dont really know that she can join the petitions

My question is.... is there any chance for me to petition my daughter who is 13 years old now?

Any advice you all could give me would be much appreciated

    Thanks

  10. Yes your USC husband can send in the I-130 for your daughter as a step child. Process take about a year, however there are now pretty good shortcuts to follow. What country is your daughter from? Are you the mom listed on the birth certificate? DAre you the mom listed on the birth certificate?id you marry your husband already?

Also please :time: so we can better make suggestins for your case :)
