Kashif-Congratulations about getting the interview e-mail recently. Hope you get the interview letter soon after that, and my guess is that you will get that sometime this week and/or next week in the mail. So be on the lookout for that letter. Hope you get the interview letter soon too, and yes, keep us updated about that too. By the way, if you don't mind me asking, how come you had to reschedule your fingerprints date? And did you have problems when you had to reschedule such?Noticed the status update today -- Case sent to Local DO for Interview Scheduling.

Actually, My Wife doesn't drive and I was going to be out of country from Oct 15 till Oct 30. We went for walk in on Oct 13th, but they didn't allowed walk in, Instead they offered to reschedule. Which we have to accept
. But I guess it didn't delay it as it is in queue for Interview one week after FP.On Small Note for my FP I was able to do the Walk-in earlier than my scheduled. So Seattle DO some times allow Walk-in FP, some times don't.

Interview appointment was at 2:40 Reached there 1:40 after going through security ( There are 3 queues Make sure you go to the one marked for Interview as it is a short line)
I was in the waiting room at 1:50 at that time there were around 60 - 70 people in the room by 2:40 there were only around 40 left waiting.
Checked time again it was 3:40 and only 3 people left in the room :confused:
But around 3:45 heard my name and was escorted to the interview room by a nice young immigration officer who was from a Asian decent and very polite first he apologized for the delay than guided me to his office.
Once in the office he asked me to raise had and took the oath to speak truth.
Then he asked for GC & passport then went through my application question by question. Verified my address than asked me to sign the pictures & Application.
Than he said it is time for test.
Reading/Writing:
He gave me a peace of paper which has 3 line written on it as asked me to read line #2 ( What country is north of USA)
Than I was asked to write ( Canada is in the north of USA)
Then he printed a question sheet and asked me questions:
1- Who is the Chief justice of Supreme Court.
2- When do we vote for President
3- name 2 rights every resident has
4- Name one war USA fought in 1900
5-
6-
7-
Forgot the other 3 , after asking the seventh question ( I answered all correct
) he stopped ( there were 3 more on that paper)Than he congratulated me for passing the test and said he is recomending me for approval.
He also gave me 2 papers
1- approval recommendation letter
2- Oath appointment letter for Sep 29th.
That's it i was out with in 10 min

My interview experience was great and I am approved for naturalization.

All Done! 176 people from 46 countries were naturalized in the 1st ceremony today. Hopefully Red Diablo found a place to park, as it was crowded with a long line of people waiting at 7.20am, but the ceremony was all completed before 9am.
Congratulation Jayde you are first one among us to complete this journy.

Cool - good news Kashif - sure the letter will turn up in about 10 days perhaps?
Did you have to go through to an IO on the 1800 line to get that info, or was the CSR able to tell you?
Had to get it escalated to 2nd level as i was unable to find my Case #

Just called the USCIS My interview was scheduled yesterday, tentatively for Sep 22, 2009.
No letter has been printed yet.
Will keep my fingers crossed

and I an still in Queue for the interview schedule. as per agent my back ground check is complete and file is in queue to for interview to be scheduled.
It has been almost one month since FP was completed

The guide on the USCIS site How Do I Apply for US Citizenship says that you can apply after being an LPR for 3 years. Nothing there about filing 90 days before the anniversary date (as with removing conditions).
Given the info that you supplied that would be 2/13/2010.
Someone please correct me if I am not reading the guide correctly.
Check out the N-400 instructions. Says you may apply 90 days before meeting the "continuos resident" requirement.
I know MANY who have done so without any problems.
My understanding from 90 days rule is that it is only applicable if you apply on 5 year basis for a 3 year qualification there is no 90 days rule.
I am not an immigration expert this is my observation from different posts and web sites I have been through

I couldn't resist calling USICS after reading your post. I was transfered to 2nd level and she told me that I am in queue for Interview as soon they have time slot available.
I have noticed Seattle is little slow compared to other -
Yeah I'd like to try do a walk-in but not sure they will accept me in Houston... there was no walk-in mentioned on the letter, just a reschedule option... Hope yours goes well Roosh!

My FP letter didn't had any thing about walk in, but I tried an it worked. They only thing I made sure was I appeared on the same day / Time of the week as per my schedule but 2 weeks early.
As I have read some where that some centers only do FP during certin days of the week.
On an other note while I was wait to be called. I notice an other dude trying to do the Walk-in FP he was refused and I think following were the reason
1- He was supposed to go to counter 11 ( In Seattle DO) , Lady on counter 11 has to step away for few seconds and instead of waiting for her he went to counter # 3. and the lady at Counter # 3 asked him to re-schedule ( I believe she was not aware of walk in as she was not dealing the FP cases)
2- He was not dressed properly, I recommend you should be in the formal office dress ( not need for the suit)

That's great! I have 9 more days before I get fingerprinted.
Just wanted to give a headsup to those who have biometrics on the 6th-10th (think there are 3 of the Juners), USCIS has said they may have 'overbooked' so some people are getting canceled (you can see the threads in the I-751 and AOS forums).
Application Support Center Appointment Rescheduling - July 6 - 10, 2009
System errors caused a number of Application Support Centers to be overscheduled during the week of July 6-10, 2009. As a result, some applicants may receive cancellation notices for appointments originally scheduled during this timeframe.
If you do not receive a cancellation notice, please appear at your ASC appointment as scheduled. If you do receive a cancellation notice, you will soon receive an ASC appointment notice for a new date and time, typically for an appointment within the next two to four weeks.

My Appointment was for July 7th , I guess I did the right thing and got it done next day I received it by Walk-in (FP done on June 23rd)
Also I called the FBI help line yesterday, my FP report was sent back on 24th June.

woot in a good twist of fate, turns out my letter did come today My appt is on 7/11 strangely in Elizabeth, NJ instead of Newark. Did you run into this too Moshin?
I'm wondering if anyone knows of how walk-ins are handled in Elizabeth? I've seen that a few people on VJ have walked in, now I don't technically have a good reason, although I'm sure I could think of one... Just wondering how easy it would be to walk-in and take care of this

Now the question is that Can I go to Seattle Do before that ? as I might have to travel to LA starting Jun 6th for 2 weeks ?
Hi Kashif - congrats on getting your FP notice!
Does it say on it like Jess1's that you can go any Wednesday or Saturday or something like that? If so, then you can go anytime that's convenient.
Otherwise, if the ASC is not far from you, you can certainly try to go earlier even if it doesn't say that, and explain to the guard that you will be traveling, and perhaps they'll let you in and perhaps not. You can always send the letter back in for rescheduling the appointment also.
