1. Hello June Filers!

I just want to say congrats to everyone on recent approvals!! I've been so busy with work I haven't been able to keep up!

I had my interview this morning! We got there about 20mins before, we through security.

About 15mins after we sat down, we got called by a young man. We got into the office and there was a lady there. She said

she was just training and was going to sit in on the interview.

During the interview I was holding hubby's hand and I swear I almost broke his fingers because I was so nervous and holding it so hard!

He asked us the normal questions. Then asked for updated work letter from my hubby ( I gave him one from my new job too) and then

asked if we had a bank account together. I JUST was finally approved to be a co-owner on the account because they wouldn't let me

until I had my SSN & State Id so I only had 1 month worth of bank statement. He said it was fine.

He turned to the lady and she said go ahead so he started talking about lifting conditions and then said "congrats we're going to approve you today"

and right when I heard congrats I let out a little excited scream.

Everyone laughed and they said it's reactions like that, that make the job exciting.

We finished up and left and hubby and I sat in the car talked about it and how excited we were!

We went out for lunch and then drove home.

huge thanks to everyone in the June filers & VJ for helping me through this process. It's been stressful, but worth it.

Good Luck to everyone still waiting. Just remember that in the end, it'll work out for you!

    - Jenn

  2. Thanks Everyone!! I hope we get some more news for everyone this week!

Aw man Leo, I wish I could help you. I hope you get things worked out. Not quite to the extent of your's, but I'm having to pay $150 to the phone company for international calls (from when Josue was still in Guatemala in December) that were supposed to be part of an international plan that I paid, because I went over my prorated minutes for that billing cycle, although the woman on the phone when I added the international plan told me "you have 6 days to use 500 minutes, talk away!" Stupid customer service...

This may be random, but you should look into skype! We pay $3/month for unlimited long distance! I think it's slightly more for unlimited world wide but not that much!!! :D

The officer I spoke to today did look into his computer to see whether an interview has been scheduled for my case.

My issue? I'm scr**ed by our bureaucracy.

The first I-130/485 the lawyer submitted was incomplete, lacked signature, no G-28, etc. He told he had sent it but he didn't, not when he was supposed that is... but almost 60 days later. I gave up/fired him, completed my own and sent it. This is the second set of I-130/485.

Turns out the lawyer had sent the application 5 days before I did but he issued a stop payment against the check he sent (his own).

The problem started in Chicago with their contractors. When they got the second set of apps. they did not realize my name had just been entered a few days ago and I had an application still outstanding (THEREFORE my application and its payment should be consolidated). Instead, they issued a new NOA1 and assigned me new A# for me.

On 06/23/09 an officer in Baltimore issued a service request to the NBC to consolidate the applications. Nada. No response. Just a letter a few days later saying "We're processing it". (the application, not the request to consolidate).

Because of the bounced check the first set of 130/485 was put on hold, and just rejected a few days ago. Turns out the second app has apparently been put on administrate hold by NBC because of an outstanding debt.

So that could be one of the reasons I'm not getting an interview letter for me. The Burlington Finance Center people (very helpful) told me there's nothing they can do because they answer directly to the NBC... they're the ones who must annul the debt.

I owe Uncle Sam the processing fees for the 130+485 and $10 administrative fee, $30 bounced check fee and $3.42 in interest since 08/06.

The BIG dilemma is... write a check, pay the debt, and forever claim a refund from the NBC because they didn't do their job right (consolidate)...

    or...

Wait for an answer to another letter/email to the NBC.

    or...

even crazier: drive to Lee's Summit and picket until they let me in and give me 15 min. with their head honcho.

Sorry that you are having such a a rough time. If it was me, I would just pay it to get the case going and then try for the refund. Good Luck!

I got my EAD in the mail but for some reason they put the WRONG date of birth on the card.I called their costumer service and they managed to make me more confuse than I wasbefore calling. She told me to send another I 765 application with the original card and some evidence that my DOB is the actual one and that I am eligible for EAD.They also have to determine if it's my error or theirs and depending on that I might have to pay again for I-765.
I got sooo mad and told her how come yesterday I was eligible and today I'm not and asked her if she expects me to send the whole application again and what will happen if they lose my EAD somehow. After a few minutes she changed the story and said I could just send one copy of EAD ,a new application for EAD and some evidence of my DOB.
Just wanted to share my experience with you.Hopefully nobody will have to deal with this.

Do you really have to worry about that knowing that most likely the GC will come in a month or two, depending on your interview date?

Yes I do because I would like to find a job now and not in 2 months or when I'll have my GC.Imagine how you would feel if an employer would tell you that the informations on your social security card and EAD don't match. So don't tell me it's not a big deal if you haven't been in that situation!!!

Wow, no need to get smart. Your SS card doesn't have your DOB on it, so you might be able to explain the wrong DOB on the EAD to your employer OR they may not even notice it. Also, if you kept copies of all the paperwork you sent in, you'll be able to see if it was your mistake or theirs. I was just trying to give another perspective to try to be a little more positive...

You are trying to get smart and actually FYI your SS card HAS the DOB since I had the wrong DOB on that too and I had to go there to change it when I applied for the driver lisence because of a mismatch. So please try no to write about something that you really have no idea about. Since I have already been through that once I'm trying to do whatever it takes to get it right.

You might think you know a lot but you actually don't.

Whoa, you are being really rude for no reason. People are just offering advice. We understand you are stressed and annoyed with USCIS but there is

ZERO reason to take it out on people who have provided nothing but help and good advice in the past. EVERYONE is stressed/annoyed with USCIS and wants things to go perfectly but reality is, life isn't like that. You just have to take each bump as it comes and deal with it.

They made a mistake. First thing I would do is check the paperwork. Then, contact them. Get the stuff changed. And your done.

I also HIGHLY doubt an employer is going to turn you down for a job if you explain the situation & provide other paperwork showing the real date.

Go take a deep breath, understand that things happen and it's part of the process AND that things will work out.

And also remember, it's not any of our fault that it's not correct so don't take it out on us :D

She was talking about something not knowing anything about that thing. That's all and I wasn't asking for any advice I already did what I had to do.I just shared my bad experience and she made it look like it's no big deal...but it does when it involves you and not someone else. So I was just responding to her mean post( that's what I felt that she was implying that I am overreacting for no reason).I think you should read her posts twice, unless you are taking sides in this...and I'm sure you are.

And I guess I have the right to say when someone posts wrong informations here that's not being rude that is correcting faulty informations.

I'm not taking sides at all. I read all the posts, twice. I thought you replies to them were infact, a little out of line towards a person that was

trying to be supportive. And to be honest, none of us "know" what we are talking about. Everyone is learning what they can and trying to

apply what they've learned to other situations.

And as much as I know I'd be frustrated to, I know that it IS something that can be fixed.

    WAITING.....

There are a lot of us waiting that haven't heard anything. It seems, according to my timeline at least that I should hear something this week/next week

All we can do is continue to wait!! :D

  6. I can't wait to have my greencard so I can start visiting all the time! I'm actually hoping to have it before christmas so that I can surprise everyone!

Sorry about your grandpa :( My uncle isn't doing too well either. I'd really love to go visit him.

I am sorry to hear about your uncle! It is hard when loved ones are far away... But I am certain you will get to see him soon - and you will have your green card WAY before Christmas!

Thanks. He's been through a lot. He had a major brain surgery about 6 years ago because they found a cancer tumor the size of a lemon!

Then he got skin cancer and between that, all the drugs he's on to handle everything, he just can't handle it.

I'm off for a hair cut! Have a great evening! :D

  7. and plan our trip back to see my parents that I haven't seen in over a year..:/

I haven't seen my parents/brothers in FOREVER too. To be honest, I think I miss the dog the most! hahaha I talk to my brothers daily on msn and I call home every other day.

This forum has helped a lot. And soon, it'll be over!

Ditto! Last time I went to visit Bulgaria was in 2003. I miss my family. My dear grandpa recently passed away and I never got to see him... :( And my grandma has Alzheimer's but she remembers enough of her only grandchild that she always asks me "When am I going to see you again?" when I call her. Breaks my heart... :(

I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa! Are you planning on going down there any time soon? My sister was on a vacation in Bulgaria just a couple of weeks ago with some of her friends, she really liked it (she's 15!)

Sometimes when I think about my family, I start thinking about moving to Ukraine with Peter and living there for some time.. It's always an option in our minds, but it would be hard to make such a move without knowing we will find jobs right away there (most importantly, for both of us - with him speaking neither Ukrainian, nor Russian)..

    Life.. :)

It's a hard decision to make to leave here, or go back home. My husband & I have discussed it many times but I think [right now away] it's best for us to live here. It's very hard to become a teacher in Toronto and there are tons of jobs here. Plus, we can get a house here. In toronto, houses are VERY expensive and you usually have to go way out of town to get them.

  8. Thankfully, overall things have been proceeding fairly expeditiously for everyone here. Hopefully, it'll keep up the pace.

It seems like there are a group of people each month that move quickly and others that move slow.

I think I've moved into the slow group :(

I am in the same group with you. We even have kinda similar timelines as far as when we sent out application..

I had my biometrics done 20 days ago already, and have not heard any news..

I think they forgot about us!!!

I did my Biometrics early, which I think was just torture because it didn't speed up anything at all. There was exactly 2 weeks between my original Bio appt and my EAD approval, but there was a 29 day gap without anything on mine. Don't give up! You're still well within the processing time...it will come soon!

Thank you everyone for warming words!! I know it'll happen sooner or later.. Just really anxious to start working again, and plan our trip back to see my parents that I haven't seen in over a year..:/

I can't even imagine how much more stressed out I would be if I didn't find this forum and did not have people to share this experience with!

Good luck to everyone! Hopefully someone gets some more good news today!

I bet you'll both hear something next week. Your timelines both say that you'll be adjudicated between August 4-11 -The biometrics appointment has no bearing on the approval date.... It's usually around 45 days from the NOA1. I wouldn't get too stressed over it yet!

That's what my husband said! I guess, as you all know it's just a scary process!

I just notice you are having a wedding in Toronto next summer too! I am as well :D

Oh I know. and I def don't think going early affects it at all - I'm just impatient!!!

Tonight I'm going to order and pizza and try and relax!! I really have been trying not to think about it. But it's hard!

Maybe I need to take the bookmark to the USCIS login off my toolbar. I think it's distracting me! :P
