Congratulation! I want to ask you a question. I dont know if you apply for N400 basing on marriage? if you do, so they collect your GC 10 years and GC 2years? Also did they collect working permit card? What else they need to collect?

They ask you to bring any immigration stuff like work permits, traveling docs, green cards etc. The main thing you really need to take with you is the oath letter and the current GC. They staple the GC to your oath letter when you check in.

I wouldn't worry about the old cards and stuff.

Congtrats to you too my fellow texan!!

There were 226 applicants from 52 countries. We checked in at 11.50 a.m and the ceremony itself started at 2.00 P.M. Before the ceremony, they had a band playing some tunes and they Collected the GC and any other Immigration stuff anyone had. We were Out of there by 2.45 after taking Photos with the Judges.

Over all, everyone was very friendly!.

Very memorable and now am a US citizen!!

For those waiting, its worth the wait.

Finally got my oath letter today....set for Oct 26th....guess the only thing I'm worried about is that I never received my GC from the removal of conditions application. Guess theres not much I can do now anyway, but I am going to USCIS tomorrow to try and get my I-551 stamp renewed. Anyone have any other ideas or suggestions? Anyone know someone in the same situation? Would really appreciate any help.

Congrats on your oath notice. As for your concern about not having a GC, you should be ok at the oath. They ask for the GC from people coz they don't need them anymore and might land on the wrong hands. My guess is they actually shred them. Let us know what the officers say 2morrow.

finally, my wife got a notice for her oath ceremony on Oct. 22. I'm happy for her. she will officially become U.S citizen. It's a very long journey for us.

on behalf of my wife, me and my little doggy. we like to give all the thanks to all VJ members, who helped us from the beginning...

to all those, whose cases still pending, processing, you gotta keep working and fighting for your love ones until she/he become U.S citizen (like my wife). the process is a pain in the a.s.s , but don't give up, alrite!

What is I-751. I didn't file this form. The officer didn't say whether the evidence needed to be recent or not. Evidence such as utility bills, credit card statement, bank, car insurance, purchase receipt, tax transcripts (even though he saw the tax return from a tax service), DL.... Have a month to submit these.

If the decision cannot yet be made , why did he have me sign on the passport-style pictures? Anybody knows?

I had the same experience as you. The signing of the pictures is to make sure the process goes first once they receive the docs they need and just send you a oath notice once all is reviewed and approved.

After consulting with My Lawyer, this is what he said about the waiting for a decision and request for more info.

" The first thing you need to do is supply the documents she is requesting and whatever other documents you have showing that you did live together prior to your move."

I know how it feels to be in such a position. It will all be okay. Just supply the docs and wait for the decision.

I'm taking a boatload of paperwork (bills etc evidence), in case they need to see more, since we're applying based on the 3 years, so don't have as long a marriage history as y'all...

This time in 3 weeks, I will be sitting at the DO, hopefully waiting for an OL *wishful thinking*

I passed my tests of English and us history. However the Officer Said I will receive a written Notice in the mail. She was a young lady and went over the application line by line. Took about 50 Mins.

I was hoping for a decision today. I just have to wait!!

I successfully completed my interview yesterday in San Diego, downtown. My interview was at 12:45 pm and I arrived at 12:40 pm. (I should have come early...but there was lot for traffic and had difficult time get a parking spot). Anyway I was called in at 12:42 and IO was very nice. At first I was asked to take the oath and then he went through the application. I made one international trip since I applied, but the IO was not interested in that so I did not bother to mention that. He just asked me whether I will bear arms in case I need to, to which I answered "yes". Then he took the test, asked me 6 questions (very simple questions...# of senetors, age for voting, ...i don't remeber others). Then he congratulated me for passing the test and said that he is recommending me for approval. I was out of the office in less than 10 minutes.

I asked the IO to put me to oath on wednesday (19th August), but he said there is a 10 day cut off date so he cannot put me in. He said that I will get the oath letter in mail in next couple of weeks.

In all very pleasant experience. Just wished if I could get my oath done sooner, but that's ok....

I will keep my fingers crossed for you, Phillydude...It looks that Philadelphia schedules interview appointments 1 month and a half in advance...and I see that they have some people from DE coming to the interviews as well (that's why they are not the fastest). So let's think you will get yours in a week and a half from now to make it perfect for your traveling plans.

I am in shock! The dreaded/anticipated letter with my appointment arrived today. It had a white checklist letter enclosed. My interview will be on Friday 28th August and I just tried to update the list but it looked skewed again, so I will let one of you experts to do it for me,

Appointment letter says to allow approx 2 hours, need to take: appointment, green card, evidence of selective service, passport, marriage cert, Divorce cert, spouses birth cert and any originals of copies I sent with application.

Good to hear your Biometrics went well. I did mine a while ago but the Application support in austin didn't have the study booklet or the cd. I have been looking at the one on the uscis website. is there a place i can download the cd from? That way i can listen to it in the car while driving?

So, I'm scheduled for my interview on July 28. I had saved a copy of the N400 that I had mailed out. Glancing thru that today, I observed that there were a few typos (yes, I'm going thru this now & not when I mailed the form out..). The first one is a minor one - a typo on my city name. The second one was on Part 7 of the form. Questions A & B ask for days spent outside the country in the last 5 years. C asks for trips since permanent residency. I had 2 trips listed that were before I gained PR. Not a big deal, coz all those add up to like 80 days. Should I point them out during the interview ??

Yes you should point that out during your interview. It shouldn't be a problem. Just let the officer know. If possible go with corrected pages on the pages with errors. The officer will like that. makes his/her job much easier.

Hello! I also completed my Biometrics yesterday and it was a piece of cake...20 min in&out!

The staff was very friendly and they gave me a booklet and a CD to study for the test.

Good to hear your Biometrics went well. I did mine a while ago but the Application support in austin didn't have the study booklet or the cd. I have been looking at the one on the uscis website. is there a place i can download the cd from? That way i can listen to it in the car while driving?

Well, I was going to try to do a walk-in biometrics today, but somebody hit my car in the parking lot at work last night (I wasn't there), and didn't leave any contacts for themselves of course, except their hub cap So car is in the shop now, will go next Friday for my appt instead as scheduled and hope to get the same great service others have been reporting... Meanwhile, I am trying the 'Corn Huskers' lotion tip I saw in another forum, to hopefully improve my fingerprints...

Wannabe_Texan, they should not set appointments for interviews before the required eligibility period is past anyway. They set the rules, they know the rules, they should set appointments accordingly.

The thing is when these laws were set, where one can apply 90 days prior to be eligible under 5 years or 3 years, cases used to take over a year to process, Now that they are taking less time, I think they will review the laws and change them to you can only apply when your are eligible nor 90 days prior. This will happen soon based on the fact that they are getting people into the interview and then decide they applied too soon.

I have read some cases where when you are interviewed prior your 3 or 5 years, the officer can either schedule you for another interview when you are eligible or its denied.

Either way, the USCIS need to fix this. It can be very frustrating.

U warned me on how fast San antonio might be. ha ha. You are okay in Houston. Things will pick up soon. I got the NOA for interview and a N-659, Naturalization interview Document check list which is on a white paper. All came in the same envelope.

I will start reading the civics. It should be pretty easy to memorize, its only 100 questions after all. lol
