  1. I am curious what part of the country do you live where you can't find a job for 4 months? I am not being critical, only curious. Are there jobs available that are part time just to save enough for removal of conditions?

The main issue with my being unable to find employment is the fact that I don't drive, this has been quite a factor in getting a job. The only jobs I seem to be able to get to at the moment pay absolute peanuts and I would actually be worse off than I would be on unemployment. So I'm in a bit of a predicament at the moment.

  2. Hi,

I have been posting recently regarding my application to remove conditions on my greencard. I have yet to do so and the second anniversary of the receipt of my green card will be coming up in September. I was going to file it this week but how now just found out that the fee for doing so is a ridiculous $545 and as I have been out of work and on unemployment for about four months there is no way I will be able to submit it at the moment.

I considered filing for a fee waiver but have read that if you do so and are rejected you have to file the whole thing again. I'm sure by that time my original green card will have expired. Will the initial filing count if I file it with a request for a fee waiver?

Also what are the chances of getting a waiver? I would be lying if I said I was experiencing 'extreme hardship' but we are only barely keeping our heads above water and paying the mortgage at the moment. honestly what is the likelihood of me getting a waiver. Should I just bite the bullet and take out a loan or something?

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Hi all,

I am just getting ready to send my application for removing conditions form. It says on the form that I need to get biometrics done, which I have had done previously for the adjustment of status. Can anybody explain to me why this is neccessary? Last time I checked fingerprints did not change!

I understand its probably some stupid USCIS policy but I could find no explanation of why they need to do this twice on the form so I'm just wondering if anybody else has recieved an explanation.

    Thanks,

    Nia

  4. Hello Everybody,

I recieved my provisional green card almost two years ago and am just now applying for the lifting of my conditions on it. However there is something that I have overlooked. My husband and I moved house about a year and a half ago and I was unaware that I was supposed to inform UCIS. Why I did not check this issue with them at the time I have no idea, I suppose I must put it down to the stress of moving.

Having just printed out my 1-751 form I happened upon a 'change of address' form which stated that a person who is not a US citizen may face harsch penalties if they do not declare their change in residence within ten days of their moving.

My question is, am I likely to be in big trouble because of this? It was not purposefully done and I was in no way trying to conceal my wherebouts. We only live five minues down the road from where we were.

Can anybody who can advise me on what I should do next?

    Thanks,

    Nia
