@KyleandUan: I'm going to Indiana, which requires CGFNS. I learned that the PNA group there is vying for the removal of the CGFNS requirement. Not sure if it has already been approved this year. Nevertheless, I'm taking the exam tomorrow. Been registered to take the exam since December. I also took the NCLEX last August :-) When I get to the US, I'll take an English test.

Thanks! That's exactly what I did. I live in Bicol, which is the address I used in ALL of my K1 documents. Just make sure that you're personally in your Manila address when your visa arrives OR you have an authorized representative who should have your ID and his/her own ID. Anyway, you can track your visa delivery progress online, then you can confirm via phone through their customer service, so you'll really know the day before it arrives so you can get ready for it. Oh, turned out that the original quotation for my flight was wrong, because the agent thought that a K1 visa is an immigrant visa, which it isn't. The discount is for first time immigrants. But anyway, got a nicer flight schedule with Asiana airlines for $850 including the taxes :-) Not bad, considering that I only have 1 stopover with waiting time of 1 hour, plus better departure and arrival times :-) Woohoo!

She said that my visa will arrive tomorrow (5 working days since my interview) so I should wait at home for that (sadly, my authorized representative, our maid, does not have any ID, so I'm forced to be absent from work, but oh well, this document is worth being absent for!!!). Ok. Ganyan din yung kasabay kong magpa-medical. Nauna nyang makuha ang result nya kesa sa akin, then binigyan sya ng interview date na Oct. 29. Ako 3 days later ko nakuha yung akin, pero nung tumawag ang fiance ko from the US sa call center, ang nakuha nya para sa kin na interview date ay Oct. 14. So ang ginawa ng friend ko, tumawag din sya sa call center, and binigyan sya ng Oct. 20.

Wow, malapit na! :-) Super bilis na lang nyan pag tapos na. Kung may original interview date ka na, SLMEC ang magbibigay sayo ng bagong date, pero kung medyo late ang ibigay sayo, pwede kang tumawag sa call center for a better date. Ako, wala pa talagang interview date before I went for my medical, and after I got my culture result, the call center gave me an appointment 2 days after I got my vaccines :-) Ambilis.

And Korean Air is really nice, too.

When I checked online (expedia and kayak.com), the cheapest were $777 and $805, and I think they'd still add some taxes and fees to that. Ako, $685 lahat-lahat na, plus yung P1,600+ na Phil. travel tax. Here's their contact info:
