  1. Hello !

Does my wife need to include in her package for Adjustment of Status a copy of her birth certificate TRANSLATED (it is in hebrew) .....

or can we just include a copy of each page of her passport ??

the guide on this site says AND/OR ....

however the forms seem to indicate we need BOTH for sure ...

    anyone know ? thanks,

    kristopher

Hi Kristopher, I would include both ( passport and birth certificate) At my green card interview the interview as to see my birth certificate (because he could not make out my birth date from the copies I send whne I mailed my AOS package) The also asked to see my passport. So I think they need to see both and have copies for both for there records. Good luck

  2. Folks, I have a problem. I overstayed more than 5 years. I am leaving the US, but to get that visa I need a police background check. I live with my fiancee who is about to get a green card.

To get my PBC, I need to go to a police station to get my fingerprints.

Are there alternatives, like private detective agencies? Maybe they will take the prints; they will have less experience with overstays, so they won't report me hopefully.

Any danger to my fiancee? Since we're living together, I hope the INS won't punish her too if they link both of us.

    Suggestions?

Hi, If you have plans of spending the rest of your life in the US, you should not leave the country. When your fiancecc becomes a citizen you guys can marry and USCIS will forgive the fact that you overstayed. ( I'm not sure what the laws are if you guys get married and she is only a Green card holder) I overstayed for more than 5 years and after I married my husband ( a USC) I got my green card a few weeks ago. Good luck and I hope things work out for you and your fiancee.

  3. Hey Everyone, My Green Card came in the mail today :dance::dance::dance::dance: ( no errors). I am so happy that I can finally move on with other aspects of my life and go home to visit my family. I want to thank everyone for all the great advice and kind words, and to everyone else still waiting good luck and I hope things work out for you and your love ones. My EAD also came in the mail yesterday( 111 days), so I guess that money was not a total waste  LOL

Thank you again and good luck to everyone still waiting :D

  4. Hey Everyone, Just got 3 e-mails say that my card has been ordered ( never got an e-mail saying that the case was approve) I guess my call to the 1-800 number after about 94 days of waiting did help. It took them 105 days to approve my case and it was approve 3 days after my I-485 was approve) I guess I have to see which one comes first in the mail; my Green Card ( got the card production ordered e-mail yesterday) or the EAD ( got that e-mail tonight) The Race Is On! LOL :)

  5. My husbands AOS Interview is coming up. I have him on my health insurance at work.

    A couple of questions:

#1) How do we prove that he is on my Health Insurance? Will the cards itself be OK?

#2) The insurance card has my maiden name, not my married. Is this a problem?

    Thanks for your help!

At our interview we made photocopies of the insurance cards, I also had a photocopies of my husband life insurance policy and a copy of some medical bills. The interviewer took the photocopies of the insurance card and life insurance policy. I don't think the name is going to be a problem they just want to see proof that you guys have a "real marriage" So just take whatever you have and good luck :)

  6. Hi, I hope that you I-765 is approve soon, I am at 102 days today and still no EAD. Good luck :0

I thought you got your Welcome Letter? You'll be getting your Green Card soon, my guess is that you'll never get an EAD.

Hi, you are so right, I did get my welcome letter yesterday and I will mostly get my green card before EAD is approve. At this rate I will probably get my citizenship before I see my EAD card :) but my I-765 was touch today,so who knows!

  10. Hi guys - We have our GC interview tomorrow at noon and I am wondering what I would need to bring with to let them know our address will be changing. Is just a copy of our lease sufficient. Also I'm super worried this is going to get our green card lost. Anyone have similar problems?

Hi, I moved about a week before my interview, I did do a change of address form but only mail it about 2 days before my interview. At my interview our interviewer when over my information and he ask me about my address, when I told him we just moved he undated your address for us in the system. So don't worry to much about it, walk with a copy of your change of address form and you also may want to call the 1-800 and update your address with them to, but atleast at your interview you will find out what address they have on file for you. Good luck with your interview :)

  11. This question is directed at anyone who may have more information... could the OP not get an Interim EAD? I don't think I will get mine before 90 days is up and am counting on an Interim EAD.. or are these not done anymore?

From what I heard they stop giving Interim EAD about 1 or 2 months ago, which sucks for me and whole lot of other people still waiting for there EAD, good luck with yours :)

  12. Hi,

I just filed my husband's ID into the file and found that his address on the ID is still his parent's address. We're going to the AOS interview on Dec 12 and I think they'll check his ID. So should he change his address on the ID for the safe side?

    Thanks.

Hi, At my interview the interviewer did ask to see our IDs, My husband I did move about 1-2 weeks before our interview and my husband did not get around to changing his address on his ID, but the interviewer never ask us anything about it. I'm not sure if he they check the addresses or not, but to be on the save side I would have it change, so it would not bring up any questions. Good luck on ur interview. :)
