Hi, I have a friend who is a U.S. citizen and considering bringing her son to the United States. However, would USCIS consider the property she and her husband own as one of the requirements for sponsorship????
Thanks in advance.

Look at green-card it says "resident since" So 3 or 5 years from that date. You can file the N-400 within 90 days prior to that date.
3 years if continuously resident married to a US Citizen, who has been a citizen the entire 3 years, or 5 years if not married to a US Citizen who has not been a citizen the 3 years.

Hey, just wondering. I have my 10 year green card 2 years now and I will be eligible for Citizenship next year. Could anyone confirm exactly when I can start to apply???

If we ever play some kind of lotto, I know 2 of our numbers: 19 and 25
On the 19th of a month: I-129F sent in, POE, green card received
On the 25th of a month: Steven proposed, we got married. <-- Didn't realize until a week ago that we got married on the exact same date that he proposed, but one yr later.
Green card arrived yesterday! Time for a 1.75 yr break from USCIS!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it possible to have no touches or updates on the website and still have our case(s) processed, if not approved? I'm getting worried. It's been two weeks since my biometrics and the receipt of our response to rfe. We had a touch a few days after that but no update or anything. I can't wait for the EAD...I saw my dream job already
Yes, it's possible. Don't put to much or any emphasis on touches, they can still be working on your case and you may never receive nor see a touch.
Don't worry you'll be successful.
Good Luck

I dont know if anyone else has experienced this, probably, thats why im on here asking for help or advice. My then-fiancee', now- wife has become so homesick that she wants to end our marriage and go home . She's from a warm climate, had never left home and is close to family. She got here right before one of the worst winters in memory and things have been stressful to say the least.... the stress has affected our marriage to the point that it may be beyond repair ...Guess blood is thicker than marriage..anyway, i just sent off the damn AOS package, along with $1012.00. my question; is there any way i can stop/halt the AOS process and get my money back? at least cutting my losses and getting my money back would ease the sting of this whole mess. if anyone knows anything, please reply. i know they have already received my package [ mail confirmation ] and if there is a way to stop it before they go too far i would like to. im still in shock that everything i have gone thru to get her here has been for nothing.........
I have been here since April 2006 and got my greencard November 2009 and was fortunate to go back home for Christmas 2009.
Yes, I well understand her frustration, I was unable to work, got pregant & have a remarkable son, my mother unexpectedly died and I was unable to attend.
What helped us was and still is - a lot of prays.
Is it so bad that you guys are have already made up your minds to separate??????????
Think POSITIVE!!!!!!!!! AND PRAY,PRAY,PRAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds good to me. greencard takes an average of about 14/30 days. Give it some time but I think you're ok.
-
Yup.
Once you have no RFE's, they will then send you the biometrics notice in the mail and/or transfer to CSC /interview.
AOS for some takes a while as well as it be over within a couple of months.
Good Luck on your journey!!!!!

I agree with the previous posts. If you believe you case is complicated, then yes. However, once it's straight forward GOT FOR IT on your own.
My husband and I went thru Catholic Charities for our I-130 and as far as we're concerned we should of done it ourselves and save the money. but we did the AOS ourselves, July 2009, had no RFE's, had our interview and got my greencard early December.
VJ has the guidelines, just read once, twice, three, four times, go thru it with a finetooth comb and you'll be fine.
Good Luck

Once you have been married for exactly 2 years and more you will receive a 10 year green card.
-
colour does not matter. Better you walk with cards.
Good luck on your journey

-
Yes you can, the gc allows you to work and travel freely.
-
USCIS will contact via email and/or mail whether you will have an interview or be transfered to CSC.
-
Don't be alarmed, your case is still processing in CSC and more than likely you will not have an interview.
Just a matter of time before you get another message saying your green card is in production.
Good Luck

Large grocery stores seem to always be hiring as well as large fast food chains (like McDonalds). They are low end jobs but will help you get into the swing of going to work.
thanks, much appreciated

Hello everyone,
I got my biometrics notification earlier today, scheduled for early December and the support center is in Port Chester,NY.
Has anyone done their fingerprinting there??? If so, could you kindly advise whether I can do a walk-in anytime before my scheduled appointment??
Thanks in advance
Shelly.
