  1. Hello,

I need some advice about my tax matters and I came to

US in oct/2009. I stayed in NY for 3 1/2 months then have to come back to India due to important

family emergency. I am in India these days. I have not been working for last 2 1/2 yrs.

My husband has filed for his tax return 2009 with status as Married filling separately.

    1) So should I file for tax return as well? (I have not been working).

    2) As I am in India these days and want to go back to US in May when my job (as accountant)

will start. Will this effect my return to USA? Could my green card be revoked due to

failure to file taxes? I ll file for this years 2010 taxes as I will be starting my job in may/2010.

Thank you for your time in advance.

  2. i ve read all the posts. thank u all for ur suggestions.

i want to clear few things:

---my in laws and my husband were very nice and polite before marriage, they only asked my parents to help me and my husband to get settled in states once i get there. my parents agreed that they ll give the money that will help us start a new life,

---but few days before marriage they asked for more dowry, they asked my parents to fully furnish and equip their small house in india, my parents did that(my inlaws rent out that house before leaving for states after marriage)

---now they are asking more money and asking my parents to furnish their house in states.

now i have reached the conclusion that i want to take this opportunity to go to states. my brother will accompany me. we ll stay in chicago, where we know some relatives. they will accomodate me for 2 weeks. i ll call my husband and ask him to visit me there, we ll talk and i ll see if i can work out things with him. if things couldnt work out i ll come back in 1 or 2 weeks,

  3. as i already said i need advice...not judgements.

and too add few things about myself....im a doctor, and i ve passed step 1 and step 2ck with good scores.

ive already decided to give up on immigration visa (as my husband can create problems later on).

i never married for green card.

but wat are my chances of getting nonimmigrant visa...if sometime in future i want to take rest of my exams in states and do job there as a doctor.

its quite a respectable profession in india and ammerica.

  4. i ve been married to this person for 3 years, he is US citizen.

i interviewed in may and got visa approval for IR1.

now i ve got problems with him and his family

(they are asking for big dowry and money that i shud bring with me to states)

otherwise he ll take his sponsorship back.

---can he take his sponsorship back at this time.

i cannt divorce him as i donnt want to be cosidered as social outcast in my country.

---shud i got to states on this visa, or he can create problems later on as well.

im new to this forum, a friend suggested this to me.

thank u in advance for all the suggestions>>
