Hello,
Just sent out my package to Vermont Service Center today, please add me to your group.
One question, I included most of typical items (eg, mortgage statements, deed, baby birth certificate, bank statement, insurance statements, life insurance, auto insurance, pictures, cards from friends/family) but did NOT include affidavit letter. Does anyone think we will be triggered for an interview because we didn't submit affidavit letter?
Thanks.

Hello,
I have 2 questions regarding traveling while I_751 is pending.
1) Do they take away your 2-year conditional green card at the biometric appointment?
2) Can you use your NOA as a 1-year extension to re-enter USA?
Thanks.
-
You can. As long as you have both your greencard and the letter that says it was extended with one year with you, it shouldn't be a problem.
Does your NOA state your status is extended for 1 year? Or do you have to go to CIS office to get an extension letter? I will file in June for September 2-year expiration.
Thank you.

Hi,
Does anyone know if one can travel outside of the US while I-751 is pending? If so, do I need special permission from CIS?

Good afternoon everyone~
I just returned from my interview at Newark USCIS office in New Jersey.
I was so nervous for the past couple of days and dreading that I would face a tough and obnoxious interviewer.
Luckily, I was assigned to a courteous and professional IO and feel ultra relieved now.
She greeted us at the waiting room and walked over to her cubicle/room. She made us do the oath and began with basic questions like name, address, DOB, passports. Then she asked most of the yes/no questions, we all chuckled when I said “Am I crazy?” when she asked if I would marry with multiple partners.
She started to go through my file and told me that she is very impressed with the organization in my file – I had cover letters for each sections and lablled each items with exhibit numbers for easy referencing.
Her questions were very simple and did not even sound like questions because she was sometimes reading items in our file out and asking us to confirm or fill in the blanks. So I advise everyone to go through your file once more before the interview. We didn't even have to pull out our photo album. Only one trick question was when she asked if my great grandfather was my father while she was reviewing the family register. I almost said yes but realized that he was my great grandfather.
Then we talked about our upcoming wedding and reception and her daughter’s wedding that was held nearby our reception hall. Ever since this moment, our conversation turned super friendly and we were talking about our vacation plans and she was showing the pictures of her daughters. She approved our case after 10 minutes and we spent next five minutes chatting about other stuff. She did a great job making us feel comfortable and we would rate her 10 out of 10. I mean how many times do you meet a USCIS officer telling you "It was a great pleasure meeting with you two and good luck" with a genuine smile at the end of a meeting???
Congratulations to everyone whose cases have been approved and best of luck to pending ones (especially I hope USCIS straighten things out with LeoFeng’s case sooner than later). Thank you Davechel and Winfred for being our AOS June 2009 class coordinators. Hope to see all of you back here in June 2011!

All the best to every June filer. May your process be speedy and RFE-free.
I just booked a vacation to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Is it a nice place and any recommendation what to do there?

I got another e-mail from CRIS: EAD card production ordered. How many times do they have to order it?I got another e-mail from CRIS: EAD card production ordered. How many times do they have to order it?
I was waiting to get it in the mail not to be ordered again and again and again!!
In a few days you will receive another email saying that the EAD was approved and mailed to you.
-
I just got an email from CRIS saying "we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I765 Application for EAD. Please follow any instructions on the notice"
Are they mailing the EAD card already or just a notice?!
I've received a couple of emails earlier saying they have order production of my card, so im assuming they are mailing the card already?
Anybody got similar emials?!
Thanks!
I received the same email on 7/31 and received the EAD card on 8/6.
-
I finally received the EAD card after 8 days of waiting (the envelope was stamped for 7/30 but i received it on 8/6).
Anyways, I went to apply for replacement of my SS card but found out I have to wait TWO WEEKS for it to be mailed to me?!?!?!?!?
How long did it take for you guys to receive your SS cards?
-
CONGRATS~! to everyone who received good news.
I have one worry though. I received CRIS email on 7/31 stating that my EAD was approved and mailed on 7/30.
Today is 8/5/09 and I have yet to receive my notice or card.
For those of you who received EAD, did you receive separate mail including EAD card and approval notice?
-
Yeah!! Interviewed today in Newark. GC coming in the mail.
Hi, I am a June AOS filer preparing for September 10 interview in Newark.
Did the interview officer stamp your passport afterwards?
How was your experience there?
-
Hi, I am a June AOS filer preparing for September interview date now.
For those of you who had interviews already, did the interview officer stamp your passport afterwards? If so, what city/state was your interview held?
If not, how do you travel until you get your GC if you didn't have AP filed?
-
Does anyone know why USCIS sends two separate CRIS email including same content? I received a CRIS email on 7/24 stating they ordered production of EAD card then same email on 7/29?
Congratulations on everyone who have recently received notifications/approvals!!!
-
Congratulations on the first approval for June 2009!
I have a quick q;
What are the chances of getting transfered if you had your paperwork completed by an attorney?
I WILL fill my timeline in a few moments (before I get prompted!)
I don't think using an attorney would increase your chance of getting transferred or case expedited. Your visa status is more important element. If you are on K-1 visa, you have a high chance of getting your case transferred and receive GC without an interview. If you hold any other visa or out of status, you will most certainly be interviewed.

Last night at 7pm Pacific Time I got the following 2 emails:
1. EAD card production ordered
2. AP approved
Then I checked the mailbox and found a letter for the interview appointment on August 24.
How's that for one day?
Congrats~
I still haven't heard anything about my EAD card yet...
Anyways, do you need to bring USC's birth certificate to the interview? That's what it says in the interview letter...

Had biometrics yesterday, It was not quite the quickie that most people experience. We were there about an hour and a half for 3 biometrics.
A clerk for the contractor that does the biometrics scolded me for the name I used on Bella's applications. I had used her married name where she took her maiden name as her middle name (since she originally had no middle name) and my last name as her new last name. The clerk implied that it was going to cause problems. Oh well, nothing to do now but wait and see I guess.
Received touches yesterday for all the 485's & 765's. I was surprised to see the touches and assumed they were related to the biometrics.
Sorry for the mishap. I had to wait for over an hour even though I was the only one getting fingerprinted. The clerk that was doing my finger printing was talking to me as if I was a criminal being taken to a jail.
I had touches the day after fingerprints as well. Good luck-

I was about to get into a deep depression mode because I was not getting EAD approval then a strange thing happened:
I received I-797 notifying the interview date on 9/10/09.
Is it ok that I receive interview notification prior to receiving EAD approval notice?
Btw, no updates on USCIS site.
-
Just received an email that my case was transferred to California...on 06/26....the email came and website showed the change on 07/01
Great news, your GC will be approved within 2 months without the interview based on the past month's blogs' timelines.
-
Does anyone know if the following statements are true?
1) If you get a AOS transfer, you get your GC without an interview.
2) Only K-1 visa holders get AOS transfers.

I think they just tell you when you have an appointment.
I'm confused too, Leo. I got that you call anything from them a NOA, and I'm glad you feel it's good news but it still hasn't consolidated anything for you. I hope your infopass appt straightens things out for you and that you don't have to pay double. Lawyers suck.
Anything on my end would be nice I sent the package on 6/9 and I just got the green certified mail card back on 6/18; check is cashed but still no NOAs . It took longer than expected to arrive and then there was a weekend right after arrival...hopefully I'll get something next week!
Have a great weekend everybody!
I got my check cashed on 6/11 with NOA date of 6/10 but it didn't arrive in mail until 6/15 even though I live 10 mins from Manhattan. So it seems that their mails take a while. You should receive yours either today or tomorrow.
