  1. Just a quick up date on our visa darama.

    Timeline:

10/30 - Visa Interview (missing long form bc)

11/4 - Courier delivered all info to embassy

11/16 - Embassy acknowledged our case and said it was approved pending the printing of the visa (aka sitting in another pile)

11/30 - Embassy call center finally gave us an email address with code so that they will actually answer the email

12/1 - Embassy emailed back saying visa has been printed and sent to DX courier

No word from DX as of yet.

    That's our story so far.

  2. When FI called the embassy call center and told them what type of visa we were waiting on and gave them our file # and told them it had been 14 days since sending in the information, they finally looked it up in their system. That's when they told us 5-10 working days after it's been approved (code word for sitting in a pile).... and not to be confused with it the visa being issued/printed. Eventually they will also give you the embassy email address with a case reference for the embassy. We tried that yesterday and got this today!!

Thank you for your email correspondence.

According to our records, your passport and visa package were passed to the Embassy’s courier service, DX Secure, today, 1st December 2009. You should receive your passport and visa package in the next 3-5 working days. You may wish to contact the courier service directly if you require your documents more quickly.

    Sincerely,

    Consular Information Unit

Working day 10 is today. I miscalculated yesterday.

No word from DX yet, but this news is better than anything else. Maybe you'll hear something by next week??? Any MAYBE I'll see the FI by the weekend.....if only.

  3. I feel sick........really. I gotta stop reading posts here, the one in the UK forum about approved pending additional thread, one person's been waiting 21 or so days since sending in a long form birth certificate and still waiting for their dang visa...then me with his subject access? OMG........I feel like getting on the next plane to England right now...Nigel made me call the DOS today, and they just received the item and opened it up the 23rd and so still sitting there as of today.....there isnt a cuss word that I haven't said about them about now..............we had a bit of a breakdown today both of us....

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, that's me (the 21 days b/c of a silly birth cert), and we are still waiting. One thing to note is that even though we sent everything back to the embassy on Nov 4th, the approval and move into the last visa process pile came on Nov 16th. The embassy says '5 to 10' working days after that. We are on working day 7 (thanks Thanksgiving - grr!). I can only stew and look on here for any hope that other people are getting visas in the mail and maybe we will too.

We also have wedding plans for the end of December. Hind sight: not the best decision we ever made. *sigh* Ditto Allie on the AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! My hopes are with you guys too for a visa asap.

  4. ok - question you guys.. for those of you who had your interview, you are waiting on your visa - because something was missing? John did his interview today.. is this to say we could be 3-4 more weeks for the visa to arrive? They said his visa was approved, but he needs to send them his original birth certificate. will he get that original back? This is scary!

    Thanks for input!

Original? You just have to get the long form birth certificate from either the local registry where he was born or you can order it from the main registry. The London Embassy link on here gives you the best website to use:

    http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...&cty=London

You should send the original and the copy. Not sure what you get back from London, but you can always order another if it doesn't get returned.

I am sooooo sorry you didn't see my post before he went to learn from our mistakes. It is SO frustrating. Seriously!! :(

  5. How long has everyone had to wait to get their visa back after sending in their passport and long form birth certificate? I just had no idea that when you get a birth certificate it would be the wrong type, so we're stuck with more waiting. We sent everything back to the Embassy on the 4th and the DOS said the Embasey didn't recieve it until the 10th. Now we wait with again no end in sight. Thanks for anyone's input with their situation. MC

  6. Lets hope I get out of this AP this month!

Dr. EOTR prescribes you to a daily dosage of dialing 202-663-1225 press 1 then 0 :star:

All DOS will say is, "The NVC is just waiting for the queue in London to clear up a bit and then they will send your packet". I believe this is untrue, because while I was waiting, several London-bound petitions came through and left long before I did.

You know, maybe they're only allowed a certain amount at certain times... I donno....its #######, thats just how it is!! Like I said, i'm giving it till the end of the month, then i'm gonna freak! lol.

So this is what we have to look forward to? AH! Just when we get done waiting for one thing....we just got our NOA2 in the mail today and fiancee is sleeping in UK having no clue what we are in for next!! I was so surprised. I didn't get an email approval or any change on the USCIS website. *sigh* Time to get that paperwork ready. Good luck to everyone!!! :star:

  7. So - 2 touches last week. No email update as of yet. USCIS website says case pending......................and then today in the mail NOA2!!!! I am so very very happy, relieved and privileged to have it in hand.:dance::dance::dance:

Next I will update my timeline, but you won't see it on the top 15 because the date on the NOA2 is August 31! Like hello!! How unorganized it this whole process.

More are on the way for us April'ers.

  8. OMG OMG OMG guysss we got the approval !!!!!! My hands are shaking I cant type but OMG I cant believe it!!!!

Yours are comingggg too guys hang on

That is just fabulous news. Congrats John&Desi!!!

I didn't post much either until I got 2 'touches' this week. I was hoping that meant news of an approval or at least a RFE, but nothing since Tuesday. I think I'm going more batty now that that happened. Do they not have my email correct? Is there an RFE coming? Did they forget to update the file? Is this just standard torture for USCIS?

Congrats to all the recent approvals!!!

  9. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH I got a touch today after nothing since April 24th. I know it isn't the NOA2 approval, but at least they know we exist!!

I haven't posted before on this board, but reading your stories and updates has kept me sane (so far). THANKS!! I just had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Oh AND we hired a lawyer who is zero help. I wish we would have read everything on this website before hiring her. Oh well.

Anyways, good luck to all of you and hopefully we'll all have good news soon :)
