  1. Hi

We have our interview in a little over 2 weeks, and I am frantically trying to get everything ready for it.

On the interview notice, it has a list of things we MUST bring. I understand most of them, but one of the items asks for:

"All documents establishing your elegibility for Lawful Permanent Resident status"

Any other tips on things we should bring would be great - I have everything they 'ask' for, plus photos, affidavits etc... the only thing we're short on is joint accounts, because I just yesterday got my social security card and some places wouldn't let me be on the account without a SS#

Thanks for your responses, I feel like I am not going to rest until the interview date!

  2. I have a similar question to you... I came here to the USA in March on a VWP, not knowing that my boyfriend at the time would propose to me. I had previously been here over winter for 3 months on another VWP, and was questioned very well upon entry to the USA.

We sent all our paperwork right away after the wedding and we got our NOA back before the VWP would have expired. We actually had a 'blessing' and reception the day after we received the NOA, which had been planned all along so my family and friends could travel to join us.

Mid week last week I received an email from CRIS saying that my EAD was approved and card production was ordered... So, I've been watching the mail for the letter from them.

Then early this week when the mail came a letter was there which I assumed was my EAD letter... but no, as I started reading it I realised that it was the interview appointment letter for the I-485... YIKES!

Our appointment is in a month! WOW! This is a little quicker than I expected (but awesome)

So, I am wondering if anyone has done their interview in Portland, Oregon... or if you wanted to share any tips or thoughts about the interview process... I am trying to find out how much documentation we should bring, I don't want to bring way too much and overwhelm myself, but I want to have more than I need!

The only joint docs we have are: bank account, garbage service, electric service and insurance documents... that, I think is all...

Will they make a big deal of the fact that I stayed after getting the NOA? We were told that if I left it would be considered of abandonment of case, and we didn't want to start the whole process again. I was also having some medical issues which I needed treatment for (and have now had treatment)...

Looking forward to hearing your interview experiences and advice from you!

  4. Hey everyone!

Tonight we received the email update from CRIS saying that the I765 card is in production... I didn't really know what this meant, and now I have looked it up it means we are on to the next step??? Right?

    :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

So, I will receive the employment authorisation card in the mail?? And then what happens? Is there a time scale for what the next step is?

Also, when are we called for interview?

Any info you guys have would be great, and good luck to you all with your experience too!

  5. Hi

I have a question for any of you that are doing the AOS process and have had your medical exam.

I was sent an RFE for my medical exam, which I couldn't get an appointment for before we sent the paperwork, so I sent the forms and all other evidence, and had to wait for an appointment for the medical exam... I am having it done this week and will send it right away.

The place I am taking my medical exam told me that I could get all my vaccinations and blood work done at my dr, since I have medical insurance that will cover a lot of it.

When I went for the vaccinations I couldn't prove I had back in the UK, I also found out that I have Hyperthyroidism... My thyroid is working over time... I am having treatment with my dr, and have been referred to a specialist... what isn't paid for by insurance, we will cover... So I am hoping this shouldn't cause any questions???

My first question is if this will cause a problem with my medical exam. Will the USCIS approved dr make a big deal of this or should I not be worried?

My other question is regarding the TB skin test. I have had this done at my dr, and am due to go and have it 'read' tomorrow. I have a feeling that it is positive (it;s raised and fairly red), and the nurse who did the test said that there is a chance this could happen since I had the BCG about 15-16 years ago when I was in my mid-teens (common practice there in the UK).

I have a feeling I will be sent for an x-ray...

Should I be panicking, or is there a good chance that my medical exam will be ok?

    ps - I had the following vaccinations/tests:

    MMR

    Tetanus

    Hep A

    Hep B

HIV & RPR blood test - both negative

    TB skin test (results tomorrow).

Thanks in advance for your advice and comments... I really like how much support this forum offers!

    :)

  6. Hi

I am new here, so please forgive me if I have posted this in the wrong place....

I am panicking, as we have to send our paperwork tomorrow morning!

I am in the USA on the WVP and got married last weekend to my hubbie who is a US citizen. We did not plan this marriage before I arrived, he proposed to me shortly after I got here and it was a total surprise, and we decided to get married while I was here and now we wish to apply to adjust my status.

So, I have had a small bit of advice, I was told to complete the I-130 form, and send it with our marriage licence, some notarized affitavits from third parties (cos we don't have much info for co-mingling of fianancial resourses except one bank statement) and other documentation as evidence.

I know that we each need to complete the G325A, so we are doing that too.

My question is if we need to do the I-484 right now, or do we wait until we have had some correspondence or approval on the I-130?

Also, does my husband need to complete anmd send the I-864 Affidavit of Support now or later.

Sorry for my ignorance, I have been reading and reading, and am becoming more confused rather than informed.

If you could help with some info and advice I would really appreciate it and it would put our mind at ease.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I think at first you send only the I-130 package with everything listed. I suppose you will get further instructions from USCIS once they receive your application, or later when it is approved, from NVC

Let's see what other members will say

Welcome to VJ, good luck and have a speedy journey :thumbs::thumbs:

This information is incorrect. You need to file both the I-130 and the AOS together to the chacago lockbox. Please read the guide it will help you.

I am sending the I-130 and I-485 today etc, but I haven't yet had a medical exam and it asks for the I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record.

I don't have this??? Do I need to get this before I can send the forms or does this come later???

I'm really stressing,I need to send the forms today! :(
