  1. Hello!

I tried to apply for a driver's license here in DMV CA but they did not allow me because my I-94 will be expired in 21 days and they were asking for my resident card. I just want to know what are the requirements for the application of drivers license because right now I dont have the residence card yet. We started filing for the EAD, travel permit and AOS since early december and we have our biometrics schedule next thurs. How long will it take for us to receive the travel permit, work permit and temporary green card?

    Thanks!!!

  2. Ok thanks! I`ll make a copy of that. Will take PAL. Goodluck on your trip!

Hi there! We're leaving on the same day. :)

Which airline will you be on? NWA kami.

Prepare also your CFO certificates (the blue and/or the green one), make photocopies of them also.

  4. Hello!

Iam planning to do my CFO Seminar at St. Mary (in Quezon City) tomorrow. I just want to know what are the requirements. How many copies of visa and passport they require? Do they limit the number of people who can attend per day or is it ok to go there as long as it is before the scheduled time for seminar (8a.m., 10a.m., 1p.m.)? How about some directions on how to locate the place easier by taking MRT? Iam from Alabang/Laguna?

    Thanks!

i think its less hassle for u to go straight by bus from alabang and get down to Cubao-farmers then go to gateway station to ride LRT going towards santolan and get down at katipunan station.

3 copies of passport and visa (if u have already)- it cost php 3.00/copy inside CFO campus

there arent much attendees. as long as u meet the schedules, no need to rush. u can be done in less than 3 hrs. best of luck

seminar is a breeze. just know ur SO by heart so u can answer the forms and administrator Q&A.

Thanks for the advice. I think I`ll take bus from Alabang to Mantrade, then MRT from Mantrade to Cubao, then take LRT to Katipunan Station :) I only had 2 copies :( for each because the instruction included in the visa package didn`t say how many copies...oh well...

Thanks for the goodluck! Just hope it will not rain so much tomorrow...

if you did your medical and interview already, you should've gotten directions and a list of requirements for that. but since it seems you didn't,

bring at least 4 photocopies of visa and passport ID page, only because photocopying is expensive at the CFO.

also make sure you know a lot about your USC fiance, you will need to fill out forms during the seminar.

fee is hopefully still P650 total (bring extra cash to be sure).

it's good to be early so you can get the sticker and certificate early too and go home early as well.

take MRT from baclaran, get off in cubao, take MRT going to katipunan, get off at katipunan stop...st mary's is right beside that station.

if you can, please request the staff to update themselves with the laws and procedures of USCIS and NVC, if they haven't done so yet. they gave completely wrong information to my batch last year.

good luck and god bless! :)

Thanks for the info.... BTW is it MRT or LRT going to Katipunan?

  7. Thanks for the fast reply. I was just a little worried lang because I don't want any delay during the interview if ever the USEM will not accept the form. My fiance will be here for my interview this September 22 ( he will stay for only a week) and I just want to be sure that we will be able to finish it on the scheduled date. Thanks a lot!

dont worry girl were just the same..i paid my 157 form at the BDO also and they dont have question on my form...sinend lang ng fiancee ko sya pa nga angfill up ung form online and he printed it wala naman silang question....the important is makita mo ung stamp sa likod ng form mo na ikaw ay nagbayad na sa BDO and the reciept
  8. I paid the visa application form in BDO (Filinvest-Alabang branch) today. The lady in the bank told me that it was their first time to have a client bringing completed DS-157 form and she insisted to provide me a blank form because they cannot guarantee me that the USEM will accept my form. I still asked her to just do machine validation on the DS-157 form that the attorney provided us. She validated the form I brought but she just asked me to sign a paper stating that I cannot refund my payment if the USEM refuse my DS-157 form.

Does anyone ever tried bringing completed DS-157 form in BDO for verification? Is it acceptable in the USEM?

I think it is just similar forms (downloaded online/form provided by BDO) and my fiance told me that it is better that I have my computer typed form validated rather then getting the blank form from BDO and filling-out the form by hand-writing because mine is more readable.

  9. Our attorney prepared our documents and he asked my fiance to make Letter of Intent to Marry but he didn`t ask me to prepare one. Iam not sure if it is really a requirement for the benficiary since it is not included on the list from the USEM website.

I am starting to freak out here... My interview will be in 2 days. I thought I have every document for judgement day till I read one post enumerating a letter of intent to marry, which i dont have.. .. Will they really ask for this??.. is this just a typed up letter stating I will marry my fiance??.. Is this just for additional proofs??... :help: Please help me, I dont wanna mess up things just because of one paper.. (Why didnt I know about this months ago..hehe)
  10. How about your Letter of Intent to Marry?

my fiance already passed his medical last august 25th, now we are just getting everything ready for his interview... here are the checklist of the documents that we gathered that he will be bringing in to the embassy for his interview. please PM/ message me if there's something missing, thanks.

    CHECKLIST:

    - receipt of the visa application from BDO

    - 2 completed copies of DS-156

    - 1 complete copy of DS-156K

    - 2 completed copies of DS-157 (form was given by BDO with the receipt & barcode behind the form)

    - Birth Certificate (beneficiary)

    - CENOMAR (beneficiary)

    - NBI Clearance (beneficiary)

    - Qatar Police Clearance (beneficiary)

    - Beneficiary Letter of Intent

    - I-134 Affidavit of Support with supporting documents

    - 2x2 passport/ visa photo

    - Beneficiary side form of evidence (proof of relationship & proof of meeting)

    - COPY OF THE APPLICATION packets sent to the USCIS by the petitioner

    did we miss anything??? thanks

    mark & ann

  11. Thanks for giving the exact fee but will bring PhP 6,600 just to make sure. Yes, I think I will just bring the completed DS-157 form

I paid my visa application fee thingy just few days ago.. Anyway, the rate during that day (the 25th of August) was Php 6,419.00.. I think they're basing it on the dollar exchange rate. I didnt have any DS-157, so the bank provided me with one with a stamp on the back along with the receipt.. The bank lady said, there's no problem with bringing our own filled-out DS-157 form, that means they wont be providing us with one anymore (of course..hehe)... since you'll be bringing your own, they'll just ask for it and stamp it on the back...well at least, that's what the bank lady told me.. :)
  12. Thanks again!

You could bring both but I think the bank would only need one for the payment verification.

Hello! Thanks for the fast reply. Anyway, the attorney prepared 2 copies of DS-157. Do I need to bring the 2 copies for payment verification?

    Hi Matt & Jovy.

The visa fee is US$ 131 per person. :-) On the Embassy website, they said you may bring either the DS-156 or the DS-157 with you for the bank to do payment verification.

I will have my interview on September 22. Iam planning to pay for the visa application on Tuesday since tomorrow (Monday) is holiday here. My friend told me that the BDO will give you DS-157 form when you pay for the visa. Our attorney already prepared all the DS forms and my fiance already sent me the copies. I have here the completed (2 copies) DS-157 and DS-156 (2 copies) /K forms. Can I just bring the completed form to BDO for payment verification and which form should I bring? How much is the current visa application fee?

  15. Thank you for all the replies. Tomorrow is the last day of my medical exam. Im (and my fiance) just a little worried about leaving my passport to St. Lukes but if it is their normal procedure then, I think I`ll leave it to them. I already made copies of it. Thanks for that advice
  16. I talked to one lady there and she doesn`t have interview appointment yet but she is already doing the medical exam so I think it`s ok but I think they need the NVC letter for the case number.

I only sent her copies of NOA 2.. also.. is the interview stuff required.. cause Im hesitent to schedule the interview until she has all the things she needs, such as this medical.
  17. I just finished the first part of my medical exam today and will do the immunization and results on Thursday. By the way, your fiancee doesn`t need to call for appointment. She can just go there anyday on weekdays. I went Tuesday because I thought there will be less people but I was wrong. But tell her to be there as early as possible..like maybe before 7a.m. I got to St. Lukes today around 7:30am and got no. 233 (anyway, the guard will give her a number for digital photo). Also, be sure that she doesn`t have her period so she can do the physical exam. Here are the things that I brought:

    1. Passport

    2. NVC letter (copy and original)

    3. NOA2 (copy and original)

    4. Letter of Appointment - email from USEM (Interview Schedule)

    5. 4 (2x2) picture (US Visa photo)

    6. Payment (PhP 10,454.15 depending on latest exchange rate)

    Information:

    1. Passport information (number, issuance date, expiration date and place of issuance)

    2. MNL Case Number

    3. First day of Last Menstruation

    4. Address and contact no of Petitioner

    5. Address and contact number of nearest relative in the US

    6. Point of Entry and planned date of arrival

Make sure she bring black ballpen, correction pen for erasures, bottled water and biscuits or any light snacks.

    For the steps:

    1. Present NVC and Interview schedule to guard

    2. Fill-up PDS form

    3. Digital picture taking (wait for the number to be called)

    4. Checking the form in the reception

    5. Payment (5th Floor)

    6. Laboratory Exam (Urine and Blood) (4th Floor)

    7. X-ray (3rd Floor)

    8. Weight, Height, Eye check, vital signs (5th)

    9. Physical Exam (5th)

    10. Immunization Interview (2nd Floor)

    2nd Day:

    1. Immunization vaccine

    2. Results

Note: Tell her that in every step, she needs to present her paper to the counter first.

    Goodluck to her!

  18. I had this in Teriyaki Boy months ago. I liked it so I tried it at home...yummy appetizer.

    Veggy Kakiage

    Ingredients:

    1 Carrot

    1 (White) Onion

    1 Sweet potato

    Batter:

2:3:1 cup ratio Flour:Cornstarch:Iced Cold Water

    1 Egg

    Dip:

1 tbsp teriyaki/noodle sauce or soy sauce

    2 tbsp vinegar

    1 tsp honey

    1 chili red pepper

    1. Slice onion, carrot, and sweet potato into thin stripes (1 1/2 inch length)

    2. Mix the flour, constarch, ice cold water and egg. Do not over mix. The lumpy parts will make it more crunchy.

(Use the batter as soon as possible. Do not prepare the batter before slicing the veggies.)

    3. Heat the oil in a frying pan.

    4. Coat the mixed veggies with batter just enough to make it stick together.

    5. Fry until golden brown.

    6. Drain fried veggies.

    7. Serve hot with dipping sauce.

    Picture I got from internet.
