I just have a simple question. My wife and I just sent our Report of Marriage to the embassy of the philippines in Washington, DC. We were a bit in a hurry when sending it at the post office; we sent it Certified mail and had our prestamped, self-addressed return envelope regular mail. It says in the instructions to have the return envelope as express mail. Should we be concerned ? or is regular mail ok ?

Her field of study was Chemical Engineering. Is the ECE the best way to go ? or should we consider another organization ? Her purpose is to maybe use it to get a certain job and to also further her education.
-
My wife has a Bachelor of Science degree in the philippines. I am just wondering if we did a full evaluation with ECE if she would be able to use that degree to get a job here in the state of Kentucky ?

Ok, so my wife and I just got her Biometrics taken care of on Friday, April 30, 2010. We are just wondering around when she would recieve her EAD approval and original EAD Card ?
-
I 551 is the green card itself. Why they couldn't just say that, I'll never know...!
You could have gotten the SSN for her before you got married (see the SSN guide on this site), but, water under the bridge at this point!
Well, we already have her social security card. The problem is, it doesn't have her married name on it; that's why we have to get it changed to her married name. Which is the name we used to file for AOS and EAD concurrently. Is there any hope to get it changed anytime soon ?

My wife and I went to our local SSN Office, which is in Madison, IN. They told us that they need a form I-551 or atleast a stamp would work to obtain her social security card with her correct name on it now that we are married. I am just wondering how to obtain this form I-551?

Do i need to submit all my original reports from my institution/school? If I do; would I get them back for sure? Furthermore, should I get original copies like my diploma/degree certificate, transcript of records, etc. just incase I do not get them back ?

I am just wondering if the form I-864a ,Contract Between Sponsor and Household Member, needs to be notorized ?
-
The others may be right but it doesn't hurt to get a few papers notorized. Such as your intent to marry ( both of you), and your bank statement, etc. It's nothing major at all, just if you want to do a little something extra to impress the USCIS.

On form I-864a in part 2. "Sponsors Promise". Line 13 states I, the sponsor, promise to complete and file an affidavit of support on behalf of the following (Indicate Number) named inmmigrant. What are we suppose to put for (Indicate Number) ?
-
For the tax return copies. Do you have to include every page ? or can you just have a copy of the summary page and the w-2 ?
-
On the Form I-864 it states that it is required to send a form I-864a if your using the income of a relative who lives in the same household. My wife and I are just recently living with my mother. How do we prove that we are living there ?
-
On the Visa itself, which number exactly is the Nonimmigrant Visa Number ? There is one with an "A" in front of the number just below Annotation. Another one that is in red numbers. Also, a coulpe more within the "XX" area at the bottom of the Visa.
-
What is Nonimmigrant Visa Number? Is this number can be found in my Visa?
-
I'm confusing of filling up the form, what should i put in Form I-485, Part 3. Prosessing Information A. Is Nonimmigrant Visa Number is same with A # (Alien Registration Number)? Any reply here is well appreaciated. Thanks!

My wife is filling out the EAD. On the first page, number 1; There is a question that states: Which USCIS Office ? Also on number 2, "Results(Granted or Denied - attach all documentation)". I looked at the example form and read through the instructions and didn't find anything about that. Are those 2 questions suppose to be left blank ?
-
My wife and I are putting together the AOS. Which forms do I, the petitioner, fill out? and what forms does my wife, the beneficiary, fill out ?
-
I wont know till around 4-6 weeks from now. They are investigating.
-
Ok, so for the AOS it is stated that I have to yet fill up another Affidavit of Support. But this time I was just recently laid off from my job(2 weeks ago). So what should I do in this case ?
-
My wife and I are in the process of putting together her AOS, EAD, and AP. Today is March 19, 2010. Her K1 Visa will expire on April 1, 2010. Should we be concerned ? or will it be ok not to worry about it ?

So basically I am no longer in a financial state to fully sponsor for my wife alone. I will be using my mother and step father for sponsors. Which form should they fill out ?
-
I was thinking I would use my mom, She is married and we are currently living with her. She makes roughly 39,000 a year anually. But has 5 children including me, that all live with her. So that would be 6 if you include my wife. If we included her husband that would be 7 but I don't think we would include him ? If we do then she does not meet the requirments but if we don't then she meets them alone. Furthermore, she is in the middle of getting a divorce with her husband .. so I'm not sure if we could use him as a sponsor too ? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated here.

Report of Marriage

No, we didn't called the embassy. what we did, we sent again an express mail w/ a prestamped self returned address envelope on it express mail too, enclosed w/ a letter stated that when they mail us the report of marriage kindly disregard the other envelope that originally sent and used this envelope(prestamped self returned address envelope)express mail. I think, sounds more secured and we can track the no. whenever they send the mail. hopefully, they would do it :-)
