Hi all, my wife and I filed the AOS paperwork in February, she
had her biometrics taken in late March, and we haven't heard
anything since. Our case was transfered to the CSC. Should we
be worried, or just keep waiting patiently? Thanks,

Hi, my wife is from Taiwan, she just arrived in January and we got married using the K1 visa.
I'm wondering if there's any other young couple here in the Raleigh, NC area from the VJ community
from either Taiwan or China going through the same process as us now of getting used to a new life
in the US. I think it might help my wife to have someone to share experiences with.
Thanks,

So happy!!!
After 5 months and an RFE due to an absurdly stupid mistake on the form, I just got the e-mail tonight that they
sent the approval letter out today. Can't wait to receive it!!
Thanks everyone for all the help I've gotten from visiting this site. Now comes the next part, I have to put
the affadavit of support package together.. good project for this weekend
On a side note, I just read a thread where the poster asked if they could have a religious ceremony without having it count
against their K1 visa. My fiancee is from Taiwan, and it's customary there to have both an engagement ceremony and a wedding.
We were planning on doing the engagement ceremony at the end of this year, regardless of whether the visa is approved by then
or not (although hopefully it will be now!).
The thing is, we were kind of going to count it as our wedding celebration also though, considering that it's expensive and we don't want to have a seperate wedding later. Is there anything wrong with this? there's no religion involved in Chinese weddings, and we're not going to get any kind of certificate. And really it's just the engagement ceremony..
Thanks for the help!

Thanks all, I'll wait for the actual letter to arrive and see what it says.

I just got an e-mail today that they're mailing me an RFE... I'm hugely disappointed, I really thought I put enough evidence into the packet. I had plane tickets, e-mail transcripts, several pictures of us
together in different parts of the world... what else could they want? this is killing me, it's gonna be delayed another month now

This seems too good to be true...
I received my NOA1 just on 5/26/09, and today I already received the NOA2, dated 6/17/09! It says that it's an Approval Notice, has the validity of four months, and even has the A number on it like the sample NOA2 I've seen here on the website. The only thing that looks different is that in the text of the letter, it doesn't say it's been sent to the NVC, it says it's been sent to "the listed consulate." I am nervous to start rejoicing just yet because this seems to have gone through so quickly, and I'm wondering if this difference in text is some kind of indicator or something having gone wrong? Thank you so much for any help!
I thought applications were processed on a first-come-first-serve basis? I'm really glad for you, but it's kind of depressing at the same time because I got my NOA1 on about 3/25 and am still waiting for the NOA2

Thanks for the info, it's reassuring. Guess we have another month until the 180 day mark, so we'll hang on until then.
