  1. Also, my cover letter clearly stated that I am residing overseas and I used an APO address.

My application did get accepted by leaving it blank and I am waiting in line for the interview at the moment.

In my opinion, you can leave it blank OR just put the date you left the USA with the return date blank for now... just update it when you enter the US for the interview :D

Thanks! That is such a great idea..i will leave it blank then. However, my hubby's contract here is less than year now, like 10 months left but he applied for another year extension but is still pending although he is fully eligible. Can i still go ahead and apply??? HOw much time in your contract u have left when u submit the application?

  2. OK mad me look it up, N-470 and I-131 not a requirement.

However, N-400 needs to be filed before your leave the USA.

I have read a post here who has applied 319(b) from overseas the only thing is, he has to go back to the states to for the oath taking.

The reason why i wanna try this route is because we are due for removal of status in june and i will have to fly back to the states with all 3 kids and my husband for the interview so it really is such a pain in the pocket..;)

  3. Not sure if this is required but did you file an N-470 prior to leaving the USA to preserve residency?

Also an I-131 if out of the USA for longer than 1 year.

Also I think Residency time stops while away and then continues when you return, as well as still requiring you to be physically in the USA for 18 months of the 3 years.

do i need that? i think time of residency is waived under 319 (b).

  4. I got a problem filing PART 7© of N400 form.

I am currently in S.Korea with my husband who is a military. We came here non-command sponsored although we have been acknowledge by his command to legally stay here under SOFA/a-3 visa.

Since I am still here, I dould not fill up the part "Date returned to the United States". Should I leave it blank?

pleas help. Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

  5. My fiancee just had her medical exam in Manila. She was completely honest and said she had a one-time experimentation with drugs eight years ago to the interviewing physician. She asked the interviewing physician if this would be recorded in her file. The physician stated it would not.

Now I am worried. Will this automatically be reason for denial? delay? She has had a previous clean drug test and records to prove (by sheer happenestance) for one of her employments. She is in no way an abuser or addict and has never shown behavior consistent with that. She was just being completely honest.

I really wonder if the physician is good to her word in confidence or is this gonna be a problem?

Does anyone have instances where this was not a problem?

As you can tell, I am a bit worried. Never figured that telling the truth about a teenage indiscretion would be the wrong thing to do.

Thanks in advance. Any advice moving forward is also appreciated.

If you would consider 6-12 months wait for AR a problem, then d answer is yes. She will pass her medical but most likely be placed under AR by CO and worse is, she might have to apply for a certain waiver that's going to cost you extra.

  6. To All VJers Daghang Salamat Thank You for your support & the infos you've shared throughout the whole process of all our US Visas...from me & our USC child to our to lovely kids (CRBA & Immigrant Visas). As promised, I am going to share how it all went @the embassy during my kids' interview.

We got to the Embassy grounds at around 5:30am. I went there with 3 kids. I intentionally brought our USC child as additional proof. ;) just in case.

Filipino Interviewer: Window 23. He looks nice and is nice. You can never be tensed when this guy will handle your pre-interview. Questions asked were: (he never asked any questions to the kids)

    1. Who the petitioner?

    2. How is he related to you?

    3. Where did I met him?

    4. When did we got married?

    5. What kind of job he has?

    6. How old is he & me?

    7. Where is the biological father?

    8. Do they have the same father?

    9. What happened to our relationship with the father?

(Note: When he was asking me those questions, we were just like having a normal conversation. He talks to me like he's my uncle...so, no chills)

American Interviewer. Window 21. THE BEST! The young white guy who speaks tagalog. Oh I wish him Merry Merry Xmas and a Happy prosperous NEW YEAR!

    Here's how it all went...

"Magandang Umaga!" and my kids went "Hello, Good Morning!". Can u raise your right hand and swear...blah blah blah... "Yes" the kids said. funny thing is, my kids were still raising their right hand even after the 1st question..hihihi...

    So here are the questions:

    1. Who is your petitioner? My son said : R........

    2. What is his Job? They both said : US Army

    3. Who is she(referring to me)? They both hugged me tight and said : My mommy! My mommy!

    4. And he referred to me and asked me, so your husband is in the Army? I said yes & he's in Afghanistan right now. Our next duty station will be in S.Korea. It's the reason why we rushed on the kids' visa documentation.

CO: Well, everything seems to be ok. Your visa is approved.

My kids' were ecstatic. They jumped and said oh, thank you sir! (my kids are only 4 & 6). We went out the embassy very very happy.

If there's any information I could give to help those who are on this kind of process, I will be very greatful to share my knowledge. My yahoo is sazei79@yahoo.co.uk

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE AND HAVE A BLESSED NEW YEAR!!!

  7. my two kids will be having their interview later. 7am. i wonder if they'd ask CENOMAR from me. their biological father's name didnt appear on their BC's and I was never married to him. Pls help...thanks

also if u could advice what are possible questions they'll ask my kids. i hope somebody who went through the same situation could help me. i can't sleep, i'm too tensed.

are they applying for K4 visas? since you were not married to their father, it's ok that his name does not appear on their BCs. what's important is your name on the BCs. a CENOMAR for you is not applicable since you already got married and your NSO record will show this if you reported this.

wow! i'm impressed! i got the quickest response ever. thank you so much. but anyways, they're on CR2 category. i just got home from NY to assist them with their medical and interview. also in DS230 form where u got to write in the father's name, should i write the petitioner's name (stepfather)? or write unknown like what it is on their BC's? salamat jud ha!

Hey good luck sa imo kid's interview. Makes me miss my kids so much. We just got the approval so i still have a long way to go. Share your experience ha for my future reference..

oi. did u know that their paper's didnt went through NVC? so after 1 month, they forwarded the papers to USEM. Send lng ug expedite request sa NVC as soon as the petition is approved. Thanks for wishing me luck! I do appreciate it! Dili ko katulog!!!!

  9. Hello again. My daughter had her interview today at the US Embassy in the Philippines, after failing her medical test in August. Everything went well today except for one item, the AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT. When I applied for the I-864, it was stated that it covered the whole family. And the US EMBASSY and the Counselor knew this, but apparent since the original copy is stored in the archives, they can no longer pull the documents out. And my daughter was told that a NEW I-864 is needed. My wife and I checked the form and this was stated]Often a spouse or minor children obtain visas or adjust statusas dependents of a relative, based on the same visa petition. Ifyou are sponsoring such dependents, you only need to providea photocopy of the original Form I-864, as long as thesedependents are immigrating at the same time as the principalimmigrant or within six months of the time he or sheimmigrates to the United States. You do not need to providecopies of the supporting documents for each of thephotocopied Forms I-864[/font]..What step should we take, please help!! Thanks for taking the time and reading our concern...God Bless

  10. I suggest a brand new I-864 packet - perhaps consisting of a copy of the original one, then the supporting documents.

Seriously, I thought since is two I-130 petitions, must have totally seperate NVC document set also.

Thanks... but where should we apply? Our case is already done at NVC, NVC no longer have our case. Does this mean we have to start all over again?

hi! I suppose you will re-submit your I-864 to the embassy. Our I-864 didn't went through NVC (actually the NVC didnt process our papers at all, our military expedite requested was granted so they forwaRd it directly to USEM), we will be submitting our I-864 to the USEM tomorrow.

  11. what does really a white slips and blue slip stands for.. i got one during my interview that have a checked marked on Police clearance. although i submitted what they wanted additional document. I dont have a visa yet.

A white paper and a blue paper given to you after your interview are just the same. They are both checklists of the lacking documents you have to submit. The difference is that the white paper contains the Consul's signature, while the blue paper is where you will fill up your basic information.

I was given both and got my visa 3 working days after submitting the required document.

Tell your fiance to follow-up on your case and call the embassy at least 2x a week.

hi! i also got the same set of papers from USEM after my interview last July 13. I was asked to submit my singapore police clearance which I got & submitted on the 20th of July. Been calling USEM and DOS everyday but to no avail. No updates yet. What is the typical timeframe to get the VISA issued since I was told by the CO after the interview that everything else aside from my Singapore Police Clearance is ok. Please give me some advice. My husband needs me to be there as soon as I get it, he's about to be deployed to Afghanistan. Salamat!
