Ok understood. However, what happens if nothing is received by the expiry date?
-
Hi,
My parents arrived in the US on a IR5 visa on 5/5/16. They both have SSN, and my mothers green card arrived a couple of weeks later. They also did their driving test a couple of weeks ago and again my mothers arrived in the mail. However, my Dad has not received either. The passport stamp runs out in October so i'm eager to be proactive before it becomes too late. Any suggestions?
Thank you in advance.
Sean.

I just received an response stating the NVC were reviewing the case for my mother. We are originally from the UK but lived in Germany for a short time since my father was in the military. They have requested a police certificate from Germany. Is it possibly to get this from the German Embassy on the day?
This is all so frustrating - They have delayed this case for over 6 months now due to issues with them entering incorrect information. And now this :-{
Thank you in advance.

I have been waiting for 2 weeks now for the invoice to come so I can pay my IV Application online. Still nothing.
What forms do I need to send if I just send of my AOS paperwork?
-
So I don't add the other parent on either of the two forms?
-
Hi,
I am filing for both my mother and father and currently completing the AOS. Do I need to file 2 separate AOS for each case? I'm a little confused on whether I add one of them in addition to the principal immigrant under part 3 also. It says above that I should not if I have 2 separate cases - But I am not sure if I am understanding this correctly.
I ask since I would assume I would have to include both on the household size section?
Thanks,
Sean

Thank you.
So do I have to send in the AOS paperwork before getting this further invoice, or do I send in all the paperwork with the IV application?
-
Hi - I just want to clarify what you have said. Are you saying there is a separate invoice for the IV Visa Processing and that I need to wait for that?
-
Hi,
We had a our NVC letter after our I130 application was approved for an IR5 application. It states that we have to pick a sponsor and pay the fees. We completed this and paid the AOS fee. However when I log in using our case and invoice ID, there is no option to pay the IV application processing fee?
When should this become available? I assume this has to be paid before we complete the DS260 application online?
Thanks,
Sean.

Ok - I guess I was just checking if they were eligible to go with a US company or would need to get insurance elsewhere.
-
Just a quick question. My parents are currently undergoing the IR5 visa process and are currently out here visiting for 3 months during the process since they are retired. The want to purchase a car to use while they are here and to use once the process is finally completed further down the line.
Can they purchase now and insure it to use? I'm not sure how they go about this?
Thank you,
Sean.

I got the letters through today. It seems like i forgot to send my birth certificate fpr my fathers which is easily rectified. However, I am very confused and frustrated about the RFE for my mother.
It says the birth certificate i submitted does not state my mothers name. It clearly does!!! As well as her signature and the section completed stating she is my mother on it.
I'm wondering if this is a way of saying I forgot to send it with that application too? Although it talks about the birth certificate I submitted.
Any thoughts? I guess I am going to resend it with the names highlighted along with 2 sworn declarations from persons who were present when I was born.
Do you think this is sufficient?
-
Thank you. When you say a few months... what is the norm?
-
Got RFE for both of my applications for my parents. Still waiting for letter to find out what they need. I did notice on my receipt that it says the place of birth is unknown. I'm not sure what I didn't send. I sent the I-130, along with my birth certificate, copy of my naturalization cert, parents marriage cert for my dad's. I don't think I was required to send anything else???
Any ideas? I'm sending a letter to ask to update the place of birth in advance of this RFE.
My NOA1 was Nov 26th.

Thank you for the quick response. I guess I have another question. Exactly what visa will my parents be going for once we get the I130 approval? I'm trying to work out processing times etc. I assume once the it goes to the service center they will process and give my parents a medical and embassy interview date? Just a little unsure what the actual steps are.

Hi, I am a US Citizen applying for my parents to come to the USA. I got a notification online that there is a further request for evidence which was updated on April 27th. How long does it usually take to get this letter through to find out what it is?
Thanks,
Sean.

Hi,
I filed a I130 for both parents back in November 2014 and I live in FL. I'm pretty sure I filed at the correct place, but now I am seeing that the correct filing place is in no Nebraska. I think it is showing I should be filing at AZ. Has this changed recently, or have I filed at the incorrect place?
I noticed Nebraska is no longer showing waiting times for I130 for parents? I have checked several times before and i'm pretty sure it showed times for I130 for parents of spouses before??

Hi all,
Apologies if there are other threads on this but i struggled to find the information I am looking for. I'd like to fully understand the steps to bring my parents over to the US from the UK. I have submitted the I-130 application. However, what are the next steps after the I-130 approval notification? Do they attend an interview, medical etc? If so what is the usual time period for this after I-130 approval?
Thank you all so much in advance. I used this site for the K1 visa steps and it was so helpful. I'm not sure what i'd have done without it. However - I am stuggling to find the same in depth steps for this.

Hi. I'm sure this question has been asked many times but I am struggling to find the answer.
I am a US citizen and I am sending off my I130 applications for both of my parents this week. I understand the approval time is approx 6 months. What is the step for them then? Does this allow them to travel to the US and then apply for residence? They will initally be staying with me until they purchase a home.
I'm trying to fully understand the process for them coming here.
Thank you in advance.

Pretty sure I didn't give all mine when I had my interview. I had one that got damaged and never presented that one. You should be fine.

Sorry guys... I know this has probably been asked a hundred times. I did do I quick search but didn't quite get the answer I was looking for.
If I apply to bring my parents here.. how long on average is the process? Was planning to bring them over to retire in 2 years so just wondering when the best time to start this would be.
Thank you so much in advance.

I probably would wait until you have the new address and file then to the correct service center. USCIS is not really the best with keeping track when you move. I would not want them to have my file move around! Too much getting lost.
You can get everything ready to file, when you have your new address, fill it in the forms and off the envelope goes!
It is ROC so it really doesn't matter whether you file 90 day ahead of time or 10 days before your GC experation date. You will get the letter of extension for 1 year and all will go its way.
There is no advantage of filing as early as possible.
Have fun in FL, it is really warm already (we live in the northern part of FL).
Wishing you luck.
Sib
Perfect - Will take your advice! Thank you again so much.

Hi all,
It's finally time for me to remove my conditions on my green card. It expires 16/Aug/12. I have a dilemma however...
We currently live in Seattle and are moving to Orlando mid June/July. Therefore the office I need to send my documents to will change from CA to VT. I obviously want to send my application in ASAP, but wondering if it is worth waiting until we move. We do not have a house as yet in FL (my wife leaves on 5th June to sort that.) Is it possible to use her parents address in FL for now to save waiting a month or so? Or should I just send in now to CA from my Seattle address and change address when we get it? Would they just transfer to VT sorting office?
Obviously I want to to this correctly and a little unsure if using my parents address would cause any issues? Thank you again for any help. It's always very useful on here.

I found this about the Delayed Birth Certificate
Delayed Birth Certificate
If you were born in the United States and cannot present primary evidence of U.S. citizenship because your U.S. Birth Certificate was not filed within the first year of your birth, you may submit a Delayed U.S. Birth Certificate. A Delayed U.S. Birth Certificate filed more than one year after your birth may be acceptable if:
It lists the documentation used to create it (preferably early public records) and
It is signed by the birth attendant or lists an affidavit signed by the parents
If your Delayed U.S. Birth Certificate does not include these items, it should be submitted together with Early Public Records.
Let him check for the contents.
It always asks for the parents. You only state about the mother. What about the father?
Maybe it is also helpful to bring a birth certificate of the mother showing she is US citizen?
And I would go to a passport agency and have them handle it.
Sib
They have actually been to the passport agency in Seattle 4 times. This is where the issue is coming from. I'll be honest - I don't know the situation with the father. I do know he was terminally ill a few months back.
I think maybe the issues they have is that they can only get the items that was listed in my first post. i.e. they are struggling to prove he was born in the US.
I will forward on your suggestions. Thanks you.

Yes they paid both fees on entry. My mum tried called USCIS and they were not much help (however I don't know who she spoke to)
Currently although he did the driving test, they will not release his licence due to confirmation of eligibility of immigration status still pending. My father is wanting to work for uber to pass time (he's retired and already bored) but cannot since he does not have his licence. Very frustrating!!!
