Oooh! Finally getting more approvals after the December holiday hiatus, hehe ^^. Congrats to everyone else who has gotten their NOA2s ..
-
Interview date received! January 12, 2010!!! Case was completed on December 4th. Sweet!!!
-
We just got a case complete yesterday on December 4, 2009! I really hope we can get a January interview assigned, but based on the dates of everyone else, we might barely make a January interview, maybe on the 30th or 31st =P...
-
Just got off the NVC voice response system a few minutes ago...case complete for me as of yesterday, December 4. I really hope we get a January interview date as well. Guess I'll talk to an NVC operator after two weeks to find out =D..

I'm still here =D!! Just wanna greet everyone a great Happy Thanksgiving ^^.
Looking at Igor's List, it seems like some are getting their NOA2 within a month while others up to 3-4 months. I'm trying to find a trend but still don't seem to understand how some people get their approvals faster than others regardless of who filed first. I guess some adjudicators at the service centers simply process faster than others, or end up with more simpler (no red flags) cases than others.
I still consider myself simply "lucky". Hope everyone else here in the September filers club get their approvals at least before Christmas. I'm sure that would be a really great gift for all =D..

Technically there really isn't any logon page to check on the status of your case while in the NVC process. What they have is the automated voice message wherein you call the NVC phone number (1-603-334-0700), give your case number, and follow the prompts.
This logon page https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx is basically the online payment system wherein you can pay the immigration visa application fee and the affidavit of support fee bills. However, other members here who have submitted all their documents and are awaiting for their case to be complete still logon to the page until they get a "login failed" message, and once that happens it would mean that the billing info has been cleared from their systems and their case may have been completed and pending transfer to the respective embassy/consulate.

Quick question for a quick answer =D!! Unless things have changed, I've been aware that the usual validity of issued visas are 6 months, meaning you have to leave for the US within 6 months or else it'll become invalid. But I've been hearing from other people that they've considerably shortened it to 2 months. Just need to hear from others here who have recently gotten their visas or have knowledge of others who have. Thanks!!

I called NVC today and got a "information missing or incomplete" message, GAH!!! So I called again and talked to a rep and he said the documents I sent (Affidavit of Support) are all good and that the RFE was just asking for me to take action on the next steps, since the IV bill hasn't been paid yet. WHew!
My wife got an email from NVC that they have received her DS-3032 Choice of Agent email and that the bill will be sent to the agent (me )...I haven't received any email yet, but the Online Payment page clearly states "NOT PAID" on the IV bill, so I just went ahead and paid! It should be ok, right? I mean, last week it was marked as "NOT INVOICED" and there was no way the system would allow it to be paid since you can't click on the check mark next to the fee.
-
Regarding the IV bill, I actually had my wife email her DS-3032 about a week ago, but the NVC voice message still doesnt state it has been accepted. I noticed also that when I paid the AoS bill online a few days ago, the fee for the Immigrant Visa is marked as "NOT INVOICED". Do you think it would be ok to go ahead and pay for it once it becomes marked as "NOT PAID"? This is just in case the voice message doesn't update to state that they received the DS-3032 (I mean, if it changes to "NOT PAID", it must mean that the IV fee bill has been generated and the site is allowing you to go ahead and pay the bill...)
-
Just hang in there . It's very possible you could get an approval before the end of the month. Compared to previous months, it seems like things have actually been going faster at CSC, just give it a bit more time ^^.
-
Congratulations =D!!!!!!
-
Finally got my case number today after days of calling NVC!! How long does it usually take for the DS-3032 and AoS bill to be generated and sent after getting your NVC case number?
-
Same here as well, NOA2 on September 30. It's been almost 2 weeks and they still don't have an NVC number for my case yet. The operator I talked to also said it can take up to 90 days, completely offsetting what short time it took for me to get my I-130 approval (21 days) ...*sigh*... hope it enters the NVC system soon!
-
Just got the NOA2 hard copy in the mail today. I'm starting to be trigger happy on the NVC hotline now trying to get a case number, haha! Yeah I know it's a bit early to start calling but I'm really pumped up now, wah!!

Hello friends.
I am not complaining , but how come CSC approves applications out of order, like ppl are still waiting who filed in august or july and some of september filers are getting approval.???
By the way i got my NOA1 on september 4 th, and waiting.
I think they approve cases depending on embassy/consulate workload. If the USEM is going fast then you will get approved fast at service center, maybe, i could be wrong.
I filed CR-1 for my wife and I have 3 months old daughter in pakistan , who i havent seen in person.
I am planning a trip in JAN 2010 to go there and file her CBRA or CRBA whatever that is. By the way anyone knows how that process works and how long it takes? is it like really time consuming process??
thanks.
Hey there! This article should provide some insight about the wait period. I read this a couple of weeks before, pretty informative.

Thanks everyone ^^. I wasn't expecting it to be that fast myself. I would have been real grateful if I got approved before Christmas, but hey 21 days? I ain't complaining, haha! I'm sure everyone else who filed in August and September should have their NOA2's as well pretty soon =).
-
Congrats to all approvals!! Just comes to show that the service center people are really getting a lot of work done! Wait time on average now is 4-5 weeks for most people, so everyone waiting just hang in there ^^.

We sent in our packets on Sept. 3 -- never got our NOA1, check was pending for a while. Now when my husband called the USCIS, they said MI filers have to file in Detroit. Even though the instruction package says Chicago. Can someone help me? We followed the instructions and mailed the I-130 to the correct Chicago Lock Box address. Because we still hadn't received our NOA1s, my husband called to ask what was going on? The woman on the other end of the line said our petition was cancelled because we filed it in Chicago and not in Detroit. She said to call some toll-free number where, when prompted for the zip code, the automatic machine message read out an address for Detroit. Our check was pending for a while, so my husband had called a week or so ago too. The guy on the line said there was some mix-up with about 2000 applications. And that we should have our NOAs by the end of the following week (which was last week). Today when we saw the check was no longer pending but money hadn't been withdrawn, my husband called the USCIS office again. And then we hear that the petition has been cancelled due to incorrect filing -- that we should've filed in Detroit, not Chicago. I have no idea what the heck is going on. I feel sick to my stomach. It's basically the same customer service number -- 1-800-375-5283. And the zip code thing is an option on the automated system. Now because I am outside the U.S., I can't access it, but my husband can. Once he punches in the zip code, it says that the local USCIS office that serves his zip code is Detroit. And gives him an address for that office. I looked it up. It basically processes N-300, N-400 etc -- intention to declare U.S. citizenship. Different forms altogether. Now I don't know if this woman is completely incompetent or not.
Really sorry to hear about that, especially when you do everything as per I-130 form instructions. As far as I know, all I-130 Petitions for Alien Relatives go to the Chicago Lockbox address, just a different PO box depending on which state you reside in. I have never heard about MI filers needing to file at Detroit, unless it was for another type of form. There must have been a big screw up on their side. Man that would really piss me off big time, having your petition cancelled for incorrect filing which was not your fault!! So unfair. I suggest you look into it, call again and state how it specifically says in the I-130 instructions that you're supposed to mail them to the Chicago Lockbox.

Another one gets their NOA2, congratz abbie ^^. Looks like things are getting a bit speedy lately. I hope we all get our NOA2s before Christmas =D.
Yeah I also know touches can be pretty meaningless, but I'd be pretty excited if mine got touched again. Only one touch 2 days after NOA1, nothing new yet, just more waiting, haha ......

September Fillers very quite compare to August, I considered myself on both. Sent I-130 on Aug 28, They received Sept. 02. But Guess what, Its approved now. I was hoping maybe in next 2 weeks if I am lucky, but sooner the better. Hopefully NYC journey be smooth like USCIS.
9/2/09 received I-130
9/4- NOA 1
9/4- Check Cashed
9/9- Touch
9/21-Touch
9/22 Approved email, best email I have recieved in my life.
Wow! If I am as lucky as you then I should have my NOA2 by the end of the month or first week of OCTOBER, haha!!
*wishful thinking* ....
-
Wow, definitely big congrats to you! I wish my I-130 could get approved that fast!!
