  1. My wife is going through the green card process in Canada. I am American and the petitioner. She wants to go visit some friends is the U.S. now for a few weeks of the summer. Will she not be allowed over the border? We sent in the petition, and they deposited the check, but the NVC hasn't asked for the next check to be sent it.

Anybody gone through this and know the answer? Do you know anyone who has been denied entry to the US while applying for a green card from canada?

  2. Cornbread (or anyone else who knows)-

    1. your wife signs the g325 with her info

    2. we sent a western union money order and it was accepted and cashed, no problem.

    3. can't answer this, i didnt send in passport copy just birth cert.

    4. we sent the one with orig sigs to Chicago lockbox and made two copies of the entire package. I made one copy without signatures and one with signatures just incase i'd have to mail it in again and place new signatures on one.

    Good Luck.

Was the western union you purchased the money order at located in the United States, or abroad? Because the instructions says "issued by a bank or institution located in the US"...

Also, do you need to send in a copy of the beneficiary's passport or birth certificate?

  3. I got 2 different answers to question #1. Who needs to sign the g-325a with my wife's information, the petitioner or the one who is being petitioned for. And when it says at the bottom of the g-325a to type in the applicant's name, who's name should be there? Is the petitioner the applicant or is the one who is being petitioned for the applicant?

  4. I am an American citizen and my wife is Canadian.

I am trying to get my papers together, and I have 3 questions:

    1) Who signs the bottom of the g-325a with my wife's information, me (the petitioner) or my wife (who i am petitioning for)?

    2) The instructions for the i-130 says that the check or money order needs to be from an institution in the USA. Can i get a check for American Dollars from BMO or a money order from Western Union and send that, or is it only from a US bank or institution. (Please only answer this one if you know for a fact that you are right)

    3) If I am using a passport to prove I am a US citizen, do I need to photocopy all of the pages, or only the front title page with my name etc...?

    4) How many copies do I need to make of the forms (i-130 and g-325a) for the rest of the process? I saw somewhere 2 of each, but does that mean i need 2 copies of all 4 identical pages of the g-325a?

    Thanks
