  3. Done deal. Interview Complete! Already back from my interview. Here is the report.

Arrived at the facility in West Kendall at 8:15-8:20. Appointment at 8:55 AM.

Checked in and was given a number. I sat in the waiting room for people to be called (not in order, each person is assigned to an IO).

While I was waiting I spoke to the guy who checked me in and asked about the frequency of the Oaths, and he said they occur very often, sometimes multiple ones a day, He said they do 10+ a month. I asked if there was a 'backlog' after interview, and he said no, its very streamlined. I was excited, went back to sit...

Was called in about 8:40 by my IO. Nice guy, younger (early 30's), had every football helmet (mini) in the NFL, Kobe Bryant and Joker (McFarlane figures), seemed very relaxed.

We went over all of the questions to confirm they were the same (N-400 Questions, ie: Have you ever been a part of a communist party, have you ever smuggled drugs into the country, smuggled immigrants, etc...)

Once that was done we began the test....

I got the first 6 right, and we were done, my questions were:

Who is the Governer of your State?

What is one promise you make when you become a U.S Citizen?

Where is the Statue of Liberty?

What was the Movement to end slavery?

who was the first president of the United States?

    Name 2 Federal Holidays?

Got those 6 questions right, moved to the written/oral.

I had to read "Who lives in the White House?"

and had to write "The President lives in the White House."

After that I handed him $500 and he took out of his drawer the APPROVED stamp. (Just kidding, I didn't hand him $500 ;) lol.... So after the sentance he stamped approved on my case and handed me a N-652 With Congratulations and you have been approved checked off.

He had me sign my pictures, and sign that my information was correct. In the silence of him processing my stuff and scanning, he asked me if I still work at my job. I immediately thought great, I can build some rapport to ask him some questions later, so we talked about that, then talked about marriage (I am getting married soon) so he said "Congratulations, or sorry to hear that, whichever is the case, and laughed)... So I laughed and then I knew he was comfortable with me, and I asked the situation of Oath's here....

He said they just got done with a a few the last week, and I will be done by the end of the month for sure, earliest next week or the week after I should be in for one, he doesn't know the exact date, they set dates based on how many people they have approved waiting for Oath.

Interview Appt at 8:55, back in the office writing this at 9:25

    The End!

    congratulations!

  4. Hi all!

    I really need your advice.

After the AOS, the NVC informed me that I should submit all the necessary documents needed to further process my application. One o those documents is the NBI certificate. However, when I got a copy of my NBI certificate, it showed that I have a pending case. I do have a pending case - Malicious Mischief filed as a harassment due to a land dispute, its still ongoing and it's on its 6th year and I honestly don't know how much longer it will take to finish. This is the only thing that is keeping me from sending my documents to the NVC.

My question is this. If I send my NBI certificate as is, will it guarantee a denial of my visa application? What can I do to prevent this from happening? I know this is a legal matter but I'm hoping that someone here has been through this kind of situation or perhaps currently going through the same ordeal.

Your inputs are very much appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

Hi my cousin's husband had his interview last may 26 2009, IR 5 visa category their daughter filed a petition for them. 9 years ago he had a dismissed case coz of physical injury. When the NVC asked them for the aos package he filed for his NBI and found out he has still a record there eventhough it was dismissed already many years ago. What he did was he went to NBI office in Mindanao and showed them the dismissal letter or somehting like that. After that his NBI was clear already, then during the medical at st. lukes he was asked by the doctor if he has a previous case then he said yes and submitted them the evidence that it was dismissed many years ago.

During his iterview at the USEM Manila the Consul denied him and gave him a form I-601 waiver for inadmissibility. Right now they're preparing his waiver and will submit it to the usem manila once its ready. BUt I don't really know how long it would take to approve. My cousin is now in the US a week ago but her husband left behind.

About your case I would suggest to ask for a Lawyer's help. Im just sharing my cousin's husband experienced. But don't lose your hope things will be fine.

  5. That's fast! congratulations!!!

Yeah, Tuesday is the printing of visa at USEM Manila and they sent yours right away. So probably, they printed it after your interview or yesterday. Wow! Wish I could get mine after 2 days as well. mine is on the 28th, Tuesday. Can't wait to fly!

Hi pinayAmerican, actually I got a text monday afternoon at around 3pm from Air21 that they got my documents frm US embassy and that I have to prepare valid ID I was surprised to think that it was only monday and my visa was ready for delivery. But we're happy.:dance::dance::dance:

  6. I had a similar annotation. When I had my medical, some vaccinations where not medically appropriate and the annotation on my visa was my waiver for not having those vaccinations.

I entered last week with no worries.

    Good luck.

Thank you canadian_wife for the quick reply. Yes I only got two vaccinations and i need to have another shot when I get to the US thats what the medical staff told me.

  9. Wohoooo! I got a pink slip for my June 26 Interview.

Thanks to my VJ family, you made me confident in facing the interview. I didn’t broke a sweat at all

I came across Visa Journey long after I got NOA2 hardcopy and had scheduled an interview already but the posts/queries/concerns and testimonials of the Vjers made me feel secured.

It was truly a journey with you all

Hi congrats! we had the same date of interview glad to hear you passed I did also cr1.:dance::dance:

  10. hello everyone, please, someone who can explain well.

My wife and I knows each other from 2003, she was intruduced to me by my auntie who is her co-worker and I am working in Saudi Arabia since January 2001. We spent almost 5 years of our relationship without seeing each other. We had the plan to meet each other by 2007 but we didn't because it's hard for her to get a replacement in the Hospital but we made it on June 2008 when I resigned to my previous job in Saudi and that was the first time we saw each other. Due to the time limit for she has only 31 days to stay in the Philippines, we made everything rushed just to get married and also I got my new job in Saudi once again and anytime soon I will be leaving to Saudi. We got married on July 11,2008. July 27 was her return to the States and the date that I will be leaving to Saudi Arabia.

We didn't spend much time with each other during our stay in the Philippines, do you think it will be a problem during the application of my petition?

Hi don't worry you'll be fine at the interview. In my case we've known each other for 1 year and 1 month then he came to visit me spent 19 days on the third day he proposed to me and got married after we got our marriage licensed. Three days after our civil wedding he left back to the US, just last june 26 had my interview for cr1 had no problem and got approved. Good luck!

  11. Hello Guys. I was told by the travel agent last year that those with an Immigrant Visa ( CR-1 and IR-1) can get a discount under air fare if it is the first time that they are flying to the US. Does anyone know anything about this?

    Thank You Guys!

    sweet_wifey22 (L)

Thats true yesterday I called a travel agency and asked about the discount for first time immigrant. She recommended me the PAL.

She don't need to worry as I know people who passed their medical with the same condition as hers :)

    You did?

How does this topic come up in conversation?

This is the first time I have ever heard or seen the topic about ####### Skin Tags. You must have some strange friends.......

Hello Jack..this is Pinks husband..you havent been in here for long then because I have seen this subject in here several times..admittedly mostly referring to YOU lately..stop harassing my wife..(admin. why do you let this man continually harass these ladies when he obviously has no purpose in here but to bother others and try to make them feel bad? is this not a help forum?) Get a life Jack..Life is too short to waste trying to be mean and hurtful to others..then of course we all have to meet our maker and explain our actions..Good luck with that.

I am gonna be judge upon what I post here on VJ?

Is that a new scripture callled VJ, is it before or after Romans?

    it makes me laugh

  14. Hello all! After all the months of stress, paperwork, fees, etc. I am very pleased to share the fact that our K1 has been approved.:dance:

The interview was far from "automatic". We were first in line at the Montreal Consulate at 6:30 am. At about 7:50, the guard showed up to open the door. He checked our appointment letter and sent us down stairs.

Downstairs, we went through a very thorough security check. It was very professionally done. Don't even try to bring in a cell phone, ipod or anything else electronic!

After a short wait we were sent up the elevator to the 19th floor. There we had to wait again (get used to waiting - bring a small book or magazine, it will help) until we were called to the Window. At the window, the woman checking us was EXTREMELY thorough. She sounded a bit negative and picky, but I realized that what she was doing was a good thing. She organized every document and looked for missing items, details etc. She found some - but fortunately we were able to correct them. It was a demanding but useful review. (Note - our package was a bit complex due to the accompanying children, custody documents, etc.)

Then we waited again for the interview. The officer interviewed my fiancee and her daughter without me, asking them the usual "where did you meet?" and "how many times have you been to the US?" questions. He was very polite and friendly. I was then called in and asked a few simple questions, and he concluded with a big smile and handed us the Welcome to the United States letter! :D

It was almost noon at that point, but we were done! Now we wait for the Visas to come in the mail. We are hoping to work it all out to cross on July 5th - to be followed by our wedding, and then, of course, start the AOS process... LOL.

For anyone reading this - the Visa Journey website is GREAT. It has been and continues to be a great help to us. This would have been much more difficult without VJ!!

Thanks again to the organizers of this website! You guys are GREAT

    congratulations :dance::dance::dance::dance:
