  1. Hi Folks! When getting married through the K1 process do I have to file for the AOS or can I just go straight to filing for Citizenship? I've read all the rules over and over so I'm not looking for a 'Copy & Paste' of the Guides, I'm looking for people who have been married and for any reason NOT filed for the AOS. People like me who are wondering whether to just file a couple of years late or seek a Lawyers advice on other options? Thanks Guys and enjoy the fireworks!

  2. Have been looking at what/ how to go about getting our vaccinations up to date. I'll need boosters for all my childhood immunisations. But my 10 year old will need Hep B. Because it's not a national immunisation requirement, most GPs charge you for it. The surgery I work at charges £100 for the full course when it's needed for travel vaccination. However, I've noticed looking at the Kensington price list, they're only charging £35...

My question is, will she need to complete the course in the US in order to satisfy the I-693 requirements before we file our AOS or is it enough if we just get the one for £35 at the medical?

I also don't know about my MMR, since I had measles and rubella as a kid, but never mumps. There isn't a stand alone vaccine for mumps as far as I know, and I reckon I'll have a battle on my hands to get the MMR on the NHS, at the ripe ol' age of 33! lol...

i was also unsure like you, i went to the medical in london without any medical records because i've never really been to the dr's much in my life and wasn't sure what i've had done? and the dr said not to worry i can get my dr to do the shots, she was right my surgery nurse did my mmr and tetnus it only cost me a tenner. but you can wait until your in the u.s if you like, the only requirement at this stage is for you to pass the hiv test and have an all clear on the chest xray, the rest can wait. i only went to my dr to do it because i was going to get my swine flu jab anyway so i asked nurse to do it....

  7. The visa is 131 USD. The courier fee will be in sterling.

so i guess if i'm paying in pound sterling on the day they just go by the current exchange rate at that given time?? and that's why they don't give a fixed pound sterling price?? is that the case Muffin??

  8. hi guys, just a quick question......is the fee at London embassy for k-1 visa 131 us dollars or 131 pound sterling?? i know we read it somewhere but cant find it now, we know the delivery charge is 14.50 but brain not working lol nerves i think

  9. Traveling to London tomorrow - interview 9am on wednesday morning :S i'm so nervous! and all the traveling sucks too :(

i read that you can't take in mobile phones, ipods, or large backpack type bags, etc - but there are lockers available? does anyone know how much money has to be coughed up for one???

Hi buddy, 1st off best of luck from me and Terri for wednesday  i copied this for you 'Since many items are not allowed to be carried into the Embassy, you may want to make use of a pharmacy just up the street to stow your mobile phone, electronic devices, etc while you are at your interview. They should be open by 7:30am, they charge about £5, and they have a good reputation.

    Gould's Pharmacy

    37 North Audley Street

    Mayfair

    London W1K 6ZL

    Telephone: 0207 495 6298

hope this helps you, come back and tell us all how it went in London........ Jay'n'Terri
