My Wife and I met 'on-line' early in 1999. I visited her in Michigan in June 1999, and in September 1999 she visited me in Scotland. In December 1999 I traveled to Michigan and we were married there. We then went to the British consulate in Chicago where we obtained a wife visa for the UK and returned to Scotland together. We continued to live in Scotland for the next 6.5 years, but during that time we visited Colorado where we bought some land as a 'retirement plan'. We decided not to wait until we retired, so we sold our property in Scotland and moved to Colorado. At that time I was working in the US on an L1 visa (due to work, I actually spent more time in the US than my American wife!) In late December 2008 we decided to apply for my green card, and filed the I-130 and I-485 in January 2009. Biometrics followed shortly after, and final interview was on August 14 2009. Application was granted that day, and I-551 stamped in passport, and Green Card received by mail 2 weeks later.
