      Did they tell you outright that it's a denial or did they give you a paper? Ghani was given a paper that when you read it looks like a denial but it wasn't. Send me a message with exactly what happened and I'll try to help you if I can.

    Was told this morning by the Embassy that his passport will be returned with the visa in it next week! YAY!

      Hopefully! I don't trust anything they say especially about time frames. It's been over 2 weeks already that they've had his visa. We'll have to see what flight prices are once he has the visa in his hand. Still hopeful though. :)

    Got a call from the Algerian Embassy in DC today telling me that my visitation visa is approved and that I will be receiving a 2 year family visa! :) Now, if Ghani can just get HIS visa approval! :)

      No. The invitation doesn't say anything about Ghani. The invitation is from his father because he is the head of household. However, I had to write a letter of intent telling my travel plans and a general idea of where I'd be and what I'd be doing there during my visit. That letter named Ghani as my fiance and said that I was making the trip to meet my future family and to spend time with my fiance. So maybe from that they do it. My application asked for a 1 time entrance. ...

      My experience with DOS is that they won't tell you anything anyway. They told me that the Embassy in Algeria hadn't even received Ghani's package yet AFTER we got the Packet 3 call. LOL

    My invitation arrived today! Tomorrow I will send off for my visa!!!! Bring on November 19th!

    Other VJers with interview dates around Ghani's getting a phone call from the Algerian Embassy has me all excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe there IS an end to this! :)

      I didn't know they would call to interview me! What did they ask? Did they give any indication of when things would be done? Did you hear back from your Congressman's office about your inquiry?

      I have 2 layovers each way... but I chose that flight on purpose because it leaves me overnight in Paris on the way home! :) I go Dallas-Minneapolis-Paris-Algiers going and Algiers-Paris (overnight)-Amsterdam-Dallas on the way back. :) Now if his invitation will just get here so I can apply for the visa!
