  1. Imperial Fez? I love that place. The carrot salad is to die for.

Yep I love it too It is kinda expensive but good food, I worked there when I first came to the US for a week or so, The owner is a friend of mine before I even moved from Morocco, so It worked out well and gave some chance to get out of the house .

Glad U got your stuff shipped through poste office.

  2. Thank you for your response. Yes I will provide a letter from my employer, pay stubs, and tax transcripts. But my concern is the fact that I did not earn enough in 2010. Will this be an issue if my CURRENT earnings are enough?

Most of the times they don't ask for the affidavit,I had it with me during my interview but they never asked for it ,that was back in 2006 .

    Good luck .

  3. I haven't logged on to Visa Journey in a while. Hope everyone is doing well.

I live in the United States (Alabama) and am engaged to a man in Morocco. I've been there 5 times. It's a beautiful country and I love the people there. As a lot of you know, people in the United States can be very prejudiced. I am white as well as my family. Some members of my family are prejudiced again black people. One of my sisters has recently said some things that leads me to believe that my family thinks that all people in Morocco are black because Morocco is in Africa. During all my visits to Morocco, I have seen people that are very white, a few that are very black and a lot that have an olive completion. Sounds very much like the people in the United States to me; however, when filling out forms that ask for race, most just have "black", "white". My fiancee has an olive completion, brown eyes, dark brown hair that has soft curls on top. I'm the type person that doesn't really see colors.....I'm not like some of my family members, but I don't think my sister is going to leave this alone. I was wondering if some of you have come across this with family and/or friends and if so how did you handle it?

I'd also appreciate it if someone could tell me if the people in Morocco are considered either black or white? Is there some background that makes them neither one? I've looked at some things on the internet, but it all just confuses me. Could someone please give me a simple answer as to the ethnics of the people in Morocco?

    Thank you.

Yep most of the repliers covered the point, I'd go with caucasian :) I was the same way Kinda alittle dark with an olive completion-like you said- due to sun exposure allllll the time, to find out that I am actually White when I moved to the US :). Btw I libe in Birmingham, AL too .

    Good luck .

    Thanks all in advacnce..:D

    Cheers

I am from Marrakech, I used to work as salesman in a bazzar, I know MOST of businesses and craftsmen. If you want ask for SAMMARINE SOUK by JAMAA LAFNA , Then ask for ABDALLAH LAFROUGUI's in FANDAQ AL MIZAN, once you make it there, find Khalid that works for Lafrougui tell him that you were sent by his friend Mohamed from USA and just tell him what you are looking for and he will be your best help. I know everybody there and I know their tricks and I dont trust alot of them .

    bonne chance.

If you're talking a lot of furniture, I would check into how much you'll have to pay in customs and how you'll get it from the coast to your home town. Furniture is beautiful and cheap in Morocco, but getting it here is pricey.

Good luck--and BTW, where will the restaurant be?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    The restaurant will be in the Iowa City, Iowa area. <img src="http://www.visajourney.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/star_smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":star:" border="0" alt="star_smile.gif" />

The cheapest and only way is shop for logistics (ALOT of them in Morocco) see if there is somone else that would want to ship furnitures to their house or business or what not, cut a deal with the logistics office you picked up they usually have about 2 sizes of ''contenaires'' 20 pieds and 40 pieds. I had a very trusted logistics agent when I used to work for a Swiss/french company. let me know if you would like her Phone# .

  6. From your timeline it looks like your interview was June 21st. Not knowing for sure what language he did his interview in seems like an issue.

You need to know exactly what was said, what was asked, what language, etc. to ensure you know what conclusion the consulate has come to. Also, you should have your fiance scan the denial letter to you, so you know exactly what it says. You won't get anywhere unless you know the exact details.

Also, any red flags in your relationship that the consulate would have wanted addressed, and how did you address them - i.e. - age difference, religious differences, small amount of visits to Morocco and/or overall time spent together.

You mention his brother - did his brother come to the US on a K1? Did the consulate ask your fiance about that?

well said, you touched alot of points and yes they can Red flag you easily if they find out that his brother got his visa through the same way .

Good luck and I have heard some Spouses actually got their Congressman or state representative involved.

  7. I dont have any idea as i used to send just packages. I dont think the matter of sending it from an airport to another is true.

Yes you can do it through Logistics located at the airport, I used to send boxes and suitcases for a business in Australia with no problems, It is kinda pricy alittle bit .

Before I came to USA I sent a bunch of stuff to my Finacee back then, carpets, blankets, Henna lamps, Mejmar, raboz. I stuck all that in a friend's HUGE container who ships stuff from Morocco to his restaurant in Atlanta, GA where I used to live.

    Good luck. thalla

    Simo.
