my husband went to UK embassy for interview today. we fall under F2-2 category. after the interview consulate gave him letter saying you application require additional processing. we will contact you , when the processing is finish. should we worry? or is this stander letter?

Hi - I had a Nikah ceremony in Dec last year in Pakistan. Currently I am going through divorce with my wife in the US. We had been separated for a little while, but just filed divorce last month. I have couple of questions:

1) Will it be smart to apply for K1 visa since its faster? Can the Embassy figure out that we already had nikah and deny k1?

2) Should i just go down the route of applying visa for spouse? What is a rough timeline?

Any help will be appreciated.

if I understand your case, 'granted relief' in this context means the asylum case was approved.

I could be wrong, of course - have you contacted the free immigration advice line in your area ?

i didn't contact free lawyer yet. his asylum was denied and withholding was granted. IO confused us.

i want to know that what does Granted Relief means? little info . my husband filed for asylum and granted for withholding removal. reason he filed asylum late. ( 2 years after he came here) i made info pass last month went to see why his i 130 i applied for him taking so long. IO asked me what is his status i told him withholding, but she said, He was granted Relief. after the stroke interview passed monday we got our approval notice already. I'm asking this question out of curiosity.

i have filed i 130 for my husband. we had to go for stoke interview because he is withholding of removal. our stoke interview was yesterday in Federal plaza. interview wasn't so bad, she didn't ask us lots of questions ( i think because we have 3 kids together.) IO asked us name , date birth, and lots of questions about kids. how they were born, hospital name, who were present, what type of insurance i had, things like that. she also ask us about our joint bank account details. we were there for less than 30 min. i also took my kid with me. she told us we have very minor mismatches which also very common ones. i got my age wrong lol i told her i'm 26 actually i'm 25. i told my husband is 27 actually he is 28. she told me sign 3 times, to tell that i was present at the interview. she will send the decision in mail withing 30 dayz.

we can't afford a lawyer to do our case, bcuz we just brought a house. we have spent all our savings towards the house. lawyer is asking us $ 7000 to further steps. Since my husband is proceeding ( withholding of removal) he was granted relief in 2006. we were told to apply his i485 with the IJ. does any know how to do that? also how to dismiss his with holding of removal?

most of us are immigrant here. our English is not perfect. every day we learn new things . thanks anyway

On Valentines day we have stroke Interview. passing this interview is the best gift he can give it to me. my husband has withholding of removal status. that is y we r in Stroke interview. our interview is in Federal Plaza NY. please feel free to share u r experience with me. we had only 14 days to prepare our documents. please pray for us. i will share my experience once the interview is done.

i was green card holder that time. my husband has status of withholding of removal. she told me i have to file I130 for him. once i become USC i have to upgrade I I130.then send out the adjustment of status. it is bit confusing that's y i wanted lawyer to file for it.

i have filed I130 for my husband which went to Interview in Federal plaza. Notice date is September 23rd 2010. since i was on process becoming USC. i waited to make an info till January. December i wasn't able to make info pass, so i called the customer service and upgrade my case. meanwhile our i130 is outside the processing time. to see what is going on with my case i made an info pass. the officer who was helping me federal plaza was Indian lady. she confuse us to hell. she told us our file is never came to federal plaza. then she said, asked my A number said, then told me it's Garden city where i went to Citizenship interview. then she asked 4 my husband status i told her Withholding of removal. then she told me No his status is relief granted. my husband gave me signal said, lets go. because talking to her was waste of time and not helpful.

came home called the 800 number i asked them where the heck is my file? explained everything to her, it was nice lady she told me she will transfer me to some on who can help. she transfer me to IO. he was nice as well. he told me missing file is in Federal plaza. where other lady told me it s in garden city. he told me u r citizen ship file is there. there is mix up. since i have requested upgrade in case Dec 16 i have to wait 60 days for decision to be mailed. what a waste of time going to info pass. all she was telling us was get lawyer get lawyer.

isn't it too early? it has been only 2 day.

today i had my interview in Garden State NY. my appointment was @ 7.30 AM. we left the house @ 6 AM. i reached there around 7.15AM. the customer service is bad. i stood in line for 10 min. then guy said, wait in section B till some one call u to go up stairs. around 7.45 AM. lady came took us to second floor. there were around 10 people waiting. i thought i will long day. but Chinese IO called my day, i was shocked that they call my right less then 10 min. As soon as we go inside the room he told me give me u r passport and green card. so i gave it him. before i put my bag on the chair he asked me

Who were brought to America and sold as slaves? i thought he will ask me to raise my hand instead he ask me the questions. i answer the 6 questions he told me read and write. IO did't even ask my name or date of birth. only thing he ask me was how many children do u have? have u ever been arrested? he asked me 3 year tax. then he said, u passed n gave a paper stating that. bye bye the process took less than 10 min.

be sharp and bold, u will be fine. i hate those ppl who work in the embassy. very jealous ppl, u might have a different experiences. i had tough time with getting along with those ppl.

you can't send the i485 since your only a LPR, he will go through consular process. he'll probably need the waiver depending on how long he has been here.

tell us more about your husband's status, how many times has been in the US and for how long?

can u tell me more about pro active and consular process. he is been here for 10 years

he applied for asylum but got granted for withholding of removal. his father is very sick wanting to see him, that's y i applied for him , i was surprised to see fast reply from uscis. hope fully every thing else will go faster so he can go see his dad

letter is case has been forward to local office for interview. it doesn't say approved.

i have question regarding my I 130 . I have sent i 130 for my husband in April. My husband live with my in US. Today i check my status it's says application was sent to NY for interview. Since i'm LPR i sent only i 130. can i send i 485 package for my husband now or do i have to wait until interview is over?

uncle has won the green card lottery. embassy need a letter from some one who live in us. embassy wants to know where they will live in USA. i want to know how to write that sponser letter.

The big question would be is he eligible for a visa since he is in removal proceedings. This would involve what he is being removed for and how long he was here illegally. Certainly a waiver will be required if he is eligible for a visa at all.

I would suggest consulting an attorney before spending the money on filing.

he is granted for withholding of removal. he has social, work permit, ID.. only thing he can't travel. my father in law wants to see our kids. so i want to apply papers for him then he can travel..
