  1. Hi everyone. Congrats on all the approvals.

We are traveling for the holidays and have sporatic Internet access, so the updates to the spreadsheet have been delayed. (right now using someones open WiFi...but very weak signal)

I think I've caught up on the spreadsheet updates. Let me know if anyone's data is incorrect.

Merry Christmas to all the October filers. Have a great holiday season.

Congrats on all approvals. Merry Christmas to all.

  2. but i was wonderin i got an email about card production ordered both on my EAD and AP, status written on USCIS said card production ordered as well but NO approval email recieved....

    Any ideas guys?

For EAD it's normal to first get a card production email...meaning you were approved and they ordered the card from the EAD factory. Within the next week or so you should get another EAD card production email and an approval email, but some have received the card without receiving the approval email.

For AP we only received one email: approval notice sent.

@ minnew: Our best wishes out to you for your approvals.

    Greg,

Please update my info as follows, we just received this email and text notice: AOS Approved

On December 17, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later.

  3. WOW sooooo many approvals already!! Congrats to those who got their GCs and interview letters!!!!   This is so exciting!

I should stop checking our case status online everyday since it seems like they hardly ever update it!! The I-130 hasn't been touched in a month but maybe they actually have looked it

EAD card Received in mail today, now waiting for AOS

    Congrats Shenan, Anisa, Heatdeath..

I got an email stating that my EAD has been approved and they sent me a notice for that..

So what's next? Can I now apply for a SSN?!?!

RichelMichael, I know I shouldn't worry too much. I'll try not to. I know everyone else is waiting for a good news. We will patiently because god is good!

I think we October filers has the best gift for christmas this year. We all filed in October and look what's coming to us. a nice present throughout December!

Don't worry guys.. It will come soon.. I know how you feel..

congrats. By all means apply for SSN

received email notification today..EAD is approved..card production ordered..thank you Lord..now i can start to look for a job

djohn, hang on..anytime soon you will have yours

    Congrats on card approvals.

  4. Another question (which has kept me awake at nights!) to the pros here - as this is the only place I know!!

The GC we get now is conditional, right? I read somewhere that it is conditional for 2 years and then you renew it! What is the condition based on - marriage and location? I ask this question because of the scarcity of jobs in the US now... do we have to maintain US as a primary residence during these 2 years?

    Some one please enlighten me...

    Thank you :)

My understanding is it is conditional for 2 years because you have been married for less than 2 years. You then reapply 90 days before the 2 year expiration and receive a 10 year card. I have a friend who came here already married and she had been married less than 2 years to her husband. She came here on a spousal visa and her GC is only valid for 2 years. She will also have to reapply at the 2 year mark.

  5. guys this is what i think?

  7. Hi! I just received my hard copy of transfer notice today too but I am so confused because only the I-485 was transfered to CSC, how about my I-765 and 131? Anyway, I had a biometrics appointment this morning.

Hi abbynorm1, congrats on your transfer and completing your bio today. BTW, what is the notice date on your transfer notice?

Maybe someone else who was transferred to CSC can comment on the transfer on only the I-485. Maybe only the I-485's are transferred to CSC?

    Greg

    Greg,

We received the following email this morning for our EAD:

On November 23, 2009, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you.

In other news, we also found out were are expecting a baby

  8. Hey Greg good luck on your Biometric appointment today!!!! Let us know how it goes...

Thanks Djohn. We're off to Honolulu this morning. Spending the day there shopping, eating, touring around. Taking advantage of the opportunity. B)

Good luck to everyone today. Hopefully more bio letters and approvals today after yesterdays holiday.

Have a great flight! I hope it goes smooth :)

    Thanks Rebecca.

We just returned home from a full day.

Here's our biometrics experience. We drove directly to the ASC from the airport and got there at 8:20AM. Our appointment was at 3PM, but we hoped to get it over with early. No problem. Just one family of 4 was there before us. They asked for the bio appt letter and ID (passport). There was one page of information to fill out: name, address, phone, SSN, A#, application numbers, parents first names, and height and weight (??). Waited a bit and then was called for the fingerprints and photo. The stamped the bio letter and returned it and the passport. On the way out we asked if they allow walk ins. They said they would take you anytime as long as you have an appointment letter.

To our suprise and shock, at 4PM we received 2 messages on the mobile phone from USCIS:

Application Type: I765 , APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION

    Current Status: Card production ordered

Application Type: I131 , APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT

    Current Status: Approval notice sent

    :wow:

Less than 8 hours after biometrics we had EAD and AP approval! We were not even home yet. We are so happy.

It does make me wonder about the variations in approval times we have been seeing. I wonder if the approval trigger for EAD and AP are done locally.

@ Desi4ever, congrats on your walk in bio today.

@ savalenta, Djohn, good luck on your bio tomorrow.

To everyone else, we hope you get your appointments and approvals soon.

Congratulations Greg. We have seen touches on both applications every day this week. My mobile phone has received alerts 3 times already today

  9. Some updates:

    - 11/03/2009: Transfer Notice Letter Received (Notice Date: 10/27/2009)

    - 11/10/2009: Biometrics done at USCIS York, Pennsylvania - The lady who took care of my Bio was very nice and friendly. It took me less than 20 minutes !

Congratulations to" "rpt1020" and "simbafuzz" for the approved EAD & AP" !! Excellent news !!!

    Cheers,

Thanks Mrs.Mountville for the updates. Congrats on completing the bio and receiving the transfer notice.

@ shenan, congrats on the bio.

I765 showing online and a touch after the biometrics appt yesterday. Also another touch on AOS.

  10. I dont know how to add the timeline.. can you please guide me. We have the same timeline like both of you, still waiting for biometric appt :( i see a lot of people already got theirs for October filers. We dont even get a letter stating our case has been transfer, i wonder if we should call the INS....

Welcome ranchomesa. I added you to the spreadsheet (see link below to access the spreadsheet). One additional question, did you file the I693 with your AOS package? You have an almost identical timeline to km24. Not all cases are transfered to CSC. So far, less than 25% of our October filers.

@ simbafuzz, rpt1020 congrats on the EAD and AP. First in the group. We should start seeing a flood of approvals now. :dancing:

@ monicaolivo I'm holding off entering your EAD date in the spreadsheet since you haven't had the bio yet. If you get it in the mail, let us know.

    Greg001,

Mark me down as Bio completed today. Completed at Alexandria, VA center. Staff was very friendly and very helpful.

  11. Boohoo. Seems like some of us dont have a bright Monday this week. Just got RFE as well.

Its say : In order to process your application further, the petiotioner/sponsor on Form I-864 Affidavit of Support must submit all supporting tax documentation (W2's, 1099s etc) submitted to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for the most recent tax year.

We submitted 2008 W2, 1040 and Tax Return Summary from H&R Block.

What else do we have to send to USCIS now?

Any input on what should we do guys?

    Thank you in advance.

Sorry to hear about that. You gotta wonder sometimes. Maybe they lost your tax documents?

Anyway, just submit what they are asking for. Did you submit the full 1040 with all schedules and 1099s? You could also get a tax transcript from the IRS. It takes a week or two by mail, but you can walk into an IRS office and get one immediatly. It you do submit a tax transcript, you should also submit the W2 and 1099 even though it says they are not needed when you use the transcript.

BTW, what's the date on the RFE?

    Greg001,

Mark me down on the spreadsheet for receiving the notice of transfer letter in the mail today. It says "In order to speed up processing, we have transferred your case to our California Service Center. I485 is showing status online, but I765 not online yet. Biometrics tomorrow.

  12. For those who already received their bio letter.. Do the USCIS update your portfolio online? Do they send you notices that they already sent the letter?

I just recently am able to view the info for I485 online. I have only received the letter for biometrics appointment and no original or other NOA's. I tried entering the information for the biometrics receipt number and it is still not found online.

  13. What is the exact meaning of "Touch"? I'm not sure what that is, but i always see it on peoples timeline. Is that an email from USCIS?

& How will i know if my case is transferred? Do all cases gets transferred?

Still not available online and still no original NOAs. I called and they said sometimes the biometrics letter goes out quick because they are able to schedule an appointment. They said there is nothing wrong with my case and I should receive the original NOAs soon and not to worry if they are not received. I asked about the case and where it is located and I am guessing it is still at the Missouri Service Center, not transferred yet.

Hey shenan, I think you're okay. You already have your biometric appointment right? I hope you receive your NOA's soon though. :)

Hey Djohn. Yes we have the biometrics letter and appointment. It is set for November 10. Hopefully, it will all show up online around that time. No transfer yet that I know of. I am praying for luck and a smooth process for everyone.

I just checked online again and the case for I485 is now showing online as follows:

On November 3, 2009, we transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action.

We have been transferred, now biometrics next week.

  16. Congrats everyone who received letters today. I've updated the spreadsheet.

Now we need to see bios for the following, next day or two: nikki-1980, km24, monicaolivo, hudons, luckykaren and RebeccaAndPhil.

Lots of folks scheduled this week to take their bio. Let us know when you do.

@ shenan, did you every get your NOA?

greg, I haven't even received my NOA'S I'm so sad. When I called I was told it was mailed on October 20

We were told our original NOAs were mailed on October 20 as well. We still have not received them. The only mail so far is the biometrics letter.

    Hey Greg001,

Still no NOA in the mail. The only thing received so far is the biometrics appointment letter. The is set for November 10. I called the other day and they needed to find our information using a last name search because it is still not showing up in the online database. They said nothing is wrong with the application and it appears to still be at the National benefits center. No other notifications by mail. We will just have to be patient and wait to see when the next update comes along. I will keep you updated.

  18. Anyone here from SoCal?! I haven't receive my bio letter yet.. I'm starting to get worried.. Seems everyone received theirs on time..

I checked the USCIS website and it says the application is still on initial review..

Did some of you called USCIS regarding your bio letter? I'm trying to call the 1-800 but I can't reach someone who can talk to me about this.. i pressed the option 2 for the USCIS case status and there's no option for the operator.. hate it!

I called them today and I chose option 2 (case) and then option 3 (lost case number). That took me to customer service within a few minutes.

    I hope this helps

  19. Hi, Everybody !

I want to thank everybody for sharing your own experience and thoughts about the "AOS". I've learned a lot in this helpful forum that I decided to get ride of my immigration attorney (since the second NOA/ Interview for K1 Visa while I was still in Brazil) and fill all the immigration paperwork out by myself.

I also want to share my timeline with this group:

    Background:

    - K1 Interview in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: April 26, 2009

    - K1 Visa Approved: April 28, 2009

    - Arrived in USA (Washington DC) on July 13, 2009 as K1 Visa Holder

    - Applied for Social Security Card on August 31, 2009

    - Married on Sep 26, 2009

    AOS Timeline:

    - 10/05/2009: Package (Form I-485 and I-693/Vaccination Sheet, Form I-131, Form I-765) sent to Chicago PO BOX

    - 10/06/2009: Package delivered and signed by R.Mercado

    - 10/14/2009: Notice Date for I-485, I-131, I-765

    - 10/20/2009: NOA for I-485, I-797, I-131 Letters Received (Initial Review)

    - 10/20/2009: Notice Date for ASC Appoitment Notice (Biometrics for I-485 and I-765)

    - 10/27/2009: Case transfered to CSC (Information available on USCIS website)

    - 10/27/2009: Biometrics Letter Received

    - 11/10/2009: Biometrics Appoitment at 12:00 PM at USCIS YORK

Good luck to all of us !!

    Have a great weekend !!

Welcome Mrs.Mountville!! We share the similar timeline!! And I'm in DC area:) Good luck to your case and all of us!!

    ReeRee,

We are in the DC area also. I still have not received the original NOA's and called USCIS today. They could not pull up the case on their online database, but had to search for it using last name. They could not tell me why we have not received the original NOA's because they show that they were mailed on October 19. I explained that we have only received the NOA for the biometrics appt and they verified the date and time is correct. I asked where the case is currently and they said there is nothing wrong with the case and they are guessing it is still in the National Benefits Center. They could offer no further information. The case number is still not showing up online, but they verified the case number I have is correct. They said wait a little while and it should show up online.
