My fiance sent me his passport photo and with him being from the Philippines, the background is blue. The requirements on the immigration website says it needs to have a light colored background. Is the blue background going to be a problem?

You would be issued an RFE for the missing photo and processing would stop until the required item(s) is submitted.
That's what I figured. The mail system there is awful. I sent my Fiance a birthday card the year we met, he got it last month (November) a full year almost two since I sent it.

If your condo is close to Ermita, there are dozens of money changers there. My personal favorite is Edzen, but there are so many there, and most have the dollar/Peso rate in the window . It changes every time the runner does a bank run. Going pesos to dollars is obviously not going to get you that rate, but its a pointer to how small a margin the shop is taking. In my experience it is a better rate by far than the banks will give you, and certainly much better than the rate you get at the air terminal.
If you are in Makati, my preference is to go to Burgos/MakatiAve (yes, the red light district...), the changers there tend to give a tad better than the places where the rich folks go to shop (Greenbelt/Glorietta).
In the end though its pretty much down to chance. Make sure to count your money before you leave the shop. In 5 years of changing, I have only been ripped off one time and it was fixed immediately I caught it inside the shop.
You can call your credit card company and tell them you are abroad and you need to use the card while you are out of the country and they will usually charge something like 1% of the total charged. They will activate the international pruchasing ability usually immediately. Then you shouldn't have any problems.

I have a question that I haven't been able to find the answer to. What if you don't or can't get your fiance's passport photo? Is it ok for me to send in the app and have him provide the picture at the interview?

Hello VJ friends,
I just bought airline ticket for my husband to come to US. My question is, will the airport people ask for anything from my husband (like credit card info) other than his passport and e-ticket? I vaguely remember running into some issue at airport when my brother-in-law bought ticket for us in the past, just can't remember what exactly was the issue. Of course, I did travel back and did not run into the same issue.. Just being overcautious and preparing for everything ahead of time :-)
They may ask for a copy of the front of the credit card and the front of your dl. I have purchased airline tickets for my fiance in the past and they asked for that info as well as his id just to prevent id theft.

I'm getting ready to start the whole process. What I am concern with are the fees. How much will my fiance need to bring with him to the USEM and anyone that has already been through this, what is the total amount spent for the visa?
I suggest you read the guides and then ask.

I've read over and over all of those things and really get nowhere with it. I would like to be as prepared as possible before we start this so there are no surprises. Also, if my fiance has already had the vaccinations and a recent medical exam by his personal doc, will he still have to have the exam?

I've been reading the requirements for applying for the visa. Do I really have to have my fiance's passport photo to include with the forms?
Credit checks for employment

If you're looking for work, stay away from sites like Craigslist. Try Careerbuilders.com or Snagajob.com. Some companys will ask for a credit check but any reputable company will let know that it is being done as part of a background check but there should be a disclaimer stating that. Just be weary of those that want you to provide that info.
