  1. My husband filed I130 last April 2009 and I129F last December 2009 for K3 visa. Husband receive biometric appointment last Feb 2010, after that we received a text message saying they transferred our application from CSC to VSC. They received our application at vermont last April 22 2010, and the last update that I just read was Still processing. Husband called USCIS for some information about our case but unfortunately he just got answer machine. They said, we must wait 180 days before asking some questions. I just wondering we waited results from California Service Center for over a year and happen nothing. And now its transferred to Vermont and wait for 180 days again. Its like we're getting started again. Is this normal? please, I need some information. thanks for advance. God bless you

  2. I have been getting the same error since 11-MAY-2010. At first I really did think I was checking the status of my case way too much. Surely I don't need to check it every couple of hours. But I have been for whatever tranquility it provides to me. You know what would be wonderful: When the site comes back, the status of my case changes from "Initial Review" to "Approved." Now that would be a feat (which won't happen.) I can dream, can't it?

    Me either!!

    Godluck guys, Godbless

  3. Quick question...

I have begun to see that people with similar timelines are receiving NOA2s and interview dates, all seem to be very similar cases as mine. Vermont Service Center... Manila Consulate ect...

When did anyone see the date change for a "touch" when they checked their case status on USCIS web site?

When you finally saw a "touch" how long did it take to get NOA2?

I ask just to plan ahead I want to go and be there for my Liv when she goes thru this and timing is everything.

Also this is my first real post and I want to say thanks to the creators of this site and everyone here, if not for this site this process would have seemed much more daunting than it really is, so Thanks to all.

HI, My husband filed I130 last april 2009 and no "touch" till we file I129F last Dec 2009. Then we got mail from them for biometrics last feb 2010, after that they transferred our case from CSC to VSC last april 2010. They said they transferred our case because they have already a jurisdiction..blah blah.. Now at May, they checking/updating our case ever now and then. No NOA2 for almost a year.

    Goodluck!

  4. did he show up for the biometrics appointment? was his fingerprints taken? (Usually this is done at an ASC office, fwiw).

I was serious to contact NVC. Suggest yer USC husband do it, give them the case #'s, see if any status at NVC - USE THE TELEPHONE.

Of course he went to USCIS office for biometrics. Our petition is not yet at NVC. I believe that if they approved thats the time they will sent to NVC. Our petition is still at VSC for processing. Yeah really need to contact them.

  5. My husband received a mail from embassy saying he has an appointment for background check

I have to assume this was not the embassy, since he is USC.

I have to assume was notice of biometrics to be taken at local USCIS office , on the USCitizen.

This is not normal at all, but does happen - it's rare, but it happens.

Your husband filed 2 petitions - please check case status on BOTH petitions - and have him call NVC hotline, check status on that K-3 petition, as well.

    Good Luck !

My mistake.. It should be USCIS office. I just check our case status...The I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. and the other one is... The I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you.

When Our case was in the CSC, they never update for almost a year but Since they transferred both our application to VSC, we can see they always updating every now and then. I wish someone will tell me when they going to approved our application. anyways, thanks

    Godbless!!

  6. Is your husband a citizen or a permenant residient? Your husband may want to consider consulting his Congressman

I was only pointing out, using my personal experiences, that cases are often transferred from CSC to VSC and vice versa

    Good luck

My husband is an American citizen. I don't know if consulting a Congressman is helpful. Well, transferring of petition is already known but CSC to VSC is very rare. Im so much worried. I don't know what to do.. anyway, thanks,

  7. When we petitioned, our case was moved from VSC to CSC. We were approved a few weeks later.

Hopefully this is good news for you.

Often service centers will transfer files to even the work load, it is common.

    Good luck

Hello, But mine was moved from CSC to VSC. Its kindda annoying because everybody says CSC is more quicker than others. One more thing, I just open my portfolio at USCIS... Our petition is still initial review. It's been a year for that status and still no action. My husband and I are drifted apart for almost 2 years now since we got married. Very sad! Hoping to hear a good news soon. By the way, thanks for the reply. Godbless!

  8. Neither you or your husband would have been contacted by any Embassy or Consulate in connection with those petitions until after the petitions were approved. The petitions were transferred for processing at another service center. This in a fairly infrequent occurance but neither good or bad.

Now is the time to start learning the rest of the CR1 visa process, as your I-129F petition will most likely be administratively closed shortly after USCIS approves it. Lots to read about that right here in this forum.

Greetings! Thanks for the reply. Actually we hired an attorney before we start our application. She's the one who filed our petition. Anyways, Both our application are active and they process as one. Hoping to hear a good news soon coz Im starting to freak out.! I've been waiting for long time.

  9. My husband filed I130 last april 2009 and he received the NOA1 a month after. We never received the NOA2 yet. We decided to file I129F last dec 2009,and received the NOA1 a month after. Later on, My husband received a mail from embassy saying he has an appointment for background check. The next news we had heard was, Husband received a text message from embassy saying.. On April 16, 2010, we transferred this ...( Our two application) to our VERMONT SERVICE CENTER location for processing because they now have jurisdiction over the case........ The question is, What does it mean? What do I exepct now? Do you think its going to be more faster than CSC? I dont think so that VSC is more faster than CSC. Think of it, We waited for almost a year from now but still we never approved...

  10. To all those who got their NOA2s, PLEASE RESPOND!

My I-130 and I-129F cases were "touched" for the 2nd time on Jan 27th 2010 (California Service Center), according to the USCIS case status website. The initial touch was after the 2 cases were "married" on Oct 27th 2009 (I-130 NOA1 date 10-13-09; I-129F NOA1 date 10-22-09). One of our VJers got his text/email NOA2 approval notice THE SAME DAY that they were updated on the case status website. So I'm sort of freaking out here as to why it is taking them so long to approve mine. So while I know that my cases are finally being looked at or got looked at (after 3 long months of sitting in a pile in Laguna Niguel), it has been over a week and a half. How long do FBI and security checks take???? Obviously I have no criminal records.

To those who have recently received their NOA2s, how long did it take you from getting the 2nd touch ie when they looked at your cases to receiving approval??!?! Please respond, as I'm starting to wonder if something is wrong with my case. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I read your thoughts about your application you filed. I have the same problem regarding my application. My husband and I filed I130 last april 2009 and received the receipt number to access the track online. Since then we never heard any news about we filed so we decided to file I129 to be attached in I130.We filed I129 last dec 2009 and received the receipt number. Imagine how long I waited for any action regarding our application. Its ridiculous, indeed! Last Feb 2010, my husband received a call saying they need him for background check( fingerprints, etc).Till now no result yet.I'm freaking out here! How long it will take again for new result. It would be a year again? Oh no!! My husband and I had been apart for almost two years! I've been so much patient of waiting. But its too unfair why other people got their visa for just a month.anyways, just keep praying!

Congrats... that's so quick. I'm still waiting my I-130 NOA2 for almost 5 months.

  12. Congrats on your approval!

I know you're an advocate for the K-3, I'm surprised the I-129F and the I-130 weren't approved together

If you want to follow the Cr-1 (which is the superior visa in my opinion) the follow the shortcuts.

    Good luck!

Hey there, I wanted to ask you about I-130. My husband filed a petition for me last April 28 2009 and no NOA2 on hand yet!. It's I-130 (IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN.. Is this also called CR-1-IR1? I am so anxious about my NOA2. How long it should take? No mail, no emails since we received NOA1 last April 28 2009. Do I need to call customer service? Thanks

    Godbless
