  1. The process seems entirely random to me--I think that's what so frustrating about it to many of us. We're told that applications are processed in the order in which they're received, but this site is clear proof that they are not. And there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it--some Western European and Canadian applications (whom I think those of us with Middle-Eastern/South Asian/African beneficiaries think would get preferential treatment) get approved in 2 months, others take much, much longer. And there's never any communication as to why, so we're all just left scratching our heads as some of us get approved in record time, and others take much longer.

I have a Canadian application pending for almost 2 months now, no touches and I hope its true what they say about faster approvals for us. However, I tend to be one of those people who gets hit by every Murphy's Law so with my luck, it will take years! LOL. This process is driving me crazy- if I at least get some touches I'd feel better but the fact that its been sitting around with no touches makes me nervous!

Ah well! Ok, but here's to hoping it comes in sooner rather than later!

Congrats to everyone who has gotten NOA2!!! Now we just need the rest of 'em.

Malrothien, I LOVE your signature line. Now I think Im gonna have to go out to Timmys tonight. LOL.

  2. Hey everyone. Hope you all are coping well. Did anyone get any touches or any updates lately? I'm still untouched since June 8th. I hope they didn't forget about me. I feel like an obsessive compulsive freak checking the USCIS site 24/7 to see if there are any updates....I also worry they somehow forgot about me, but its just paranoia I think, lol.

  3. I've been living in Canada for 3 years, and since my husband and I got married in Niagara Falls(NY side), we obviously have to file in the USA. I have everything filled out, but I can't seem to find anything on this!

Once my husband gets his visa, we want to move to MA as I have a house there. My question is, when it comes times to filling out the I-864, how do I prove my residence in MA? I file all my taxes there since I'm self employed and that is the last place I lived before coming to Canada. Yes, my house in MA is also a residence, but I haven't physically lived there, I'm renting it out for the time being, and I don't want any mail from USCIS to go there(nosy tenants, and yes, they will open it if it goes there). So do I write my address in Canada? The VisaJourney guide states:

Petitioners who reside in AL, AR, CT, DL, FL, GA, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NC, OK, PA, Puerto Rico, RI, SC, TN, TX, VT, VA, U.S. Virgin Islands, WV, or District of Columbia are encouraged to file their stand-alone Form I-130 with the Lockbox using the following address: USCIS P.O. Box 804616 Chicago, IL 60680-1029

I don't exactly "reside" there for the time being. So what lockbox would I use to mail it in? If I have to "reside" in one of the above states, I'm worried I will get my application rejected or told to go through the embassy(which I can't since I was married in the US). Would they be willing to send it to Canada?
