Green Card and SSN in General Immigration-Related Discussion Posted May 19, 2020 I entered the US on March 20th, received Greencard 3 weeks later and now as per May 19th, am still waiting for SSN card. Called SSA online and they said to wait for 4-6 weeks after receiving GC. Wondering if I need to apply for SSN directly to the SSA office here even I already clicked YES for SSN on the DS 260 form at the visa interview. Btw, Greencard was mailed by the USPS.
