  1. Hello everyone!! I finally get to go home for three weeks and I would like to know when do I need to use my Residency card.

When i check in with the airline do i show my passport and my green card? or just my passport, when I get to Mexico's airport do I show my passport and my green card at the immigration place?

and one last question, when I come back do I still get in the same immigration line ? foreign travelers? My husband was telling me I might have to go to the other line but I'm not a citizen so i just want to make sure if the other line is for residents and citizens or just citizens.

Thank you so much and happy holidays!!!

Use ur pr card when asked for it...

+ WHen u Leave the us: just PASSPORT( u know as soon u show ur mexican passport they will let u go, u know why..they dont want you here cause they think u are ilegal SO u dont need ur green card )

+ Comming BACK to the US : PASSPORT AND GREENCARD ( they ask u for these IDs , so they wont allow any ilegal mexican in the US, dont get me wrong, I Know u are not ilegal)

+ About the LINES: The are 2 lines : ( 1 for the gringos and green card holder) and ( 1 for the tourists) IF u dont fit in these categories , there are more lines in the BORDER between mexico and US, get some COYOTES to get u in line, but be careful its very risky out there.

wow Really? ----> bout the LINES: The are 2 lines : ( 1 for the gringos and green card holder) and ( 1 for the tourists) IF u dont fit in these categories , there are more lines in the BORDER between mexico and US, get some COYOTES to get u in line, but be careful its very risky out there

First of all, there is no need for you to even say that, there are people dying for doing that and it's not even funny. Second of all, I won't have any problem because I'm a Resident, I was just requesting information about traveling with a green card.

on return to USA, go to the citizen's line - PRs go into that line.

If your passport name does not match your green card name, carry an official marriage certificate with you.

Thank you that was very helpful!! :)

  3. what is some good standing proof of a bona fide marriage??

is letters and pictures good?.. letters over many months.. pictures together.. wedding pictures..

me and my wife well.. we dont have a house in both our names, or bills together.. ect.. im in the military.

just need to know.. what is some good proof of a bona fide marriage?

enough to at least get me an interview.. and not *DENIED*

    help?

Hello :) when we sent my paperwork we sent our checking account banks statements of 4 months, apartment leases, we didn't send any bills because all of them are on his name, we sent a copy of our car title, and a letter from his mom.. if you don't have enough proof of bona fide marriage ask people you know to write letters. your boss, friends, family etc pictures always help but we didn't send pictures we just brought them to the interview i hope this helped :D

  4. Hey Pink,

You should be fine judging by what I've read from most interview goers here.

I also have my interview bright and early tomorrow with my wife and I'm bringing the following:

Passport, ID's and documents from USCIS,

Joint bank account with receipts of various purchases together,

Joint phone account with copy of every text message for past 30 days,

Pictures (about 70 of us together, the wedding and trips),

    Congratulatory wedding cards from friends

Also bringing just in case but probably wont need is:

Charity care documents from the hospital which lists her as my wife,

Phone bills from our time in Europe with phone calls to me and her parents,

Class and registration documents from the language school in which we met,

Letters, emails and text messages from our time in Europe,

Also: If anybody can answer this I'd appreciate it...

Is a copy of the entire packet we sent in to USCIS neccesary? (i.e. - G325, I765, etc.)

On the interview form it does not ask to bring a copy on the original forms submitted but rather the supporting documents instead (i.e. - marriage cert, taxes, etc.) Or am I misreading?

Thanks and Good Luck! Will let you all know how it turns out.

Thank you so much for posting this it helped a lot. I'm going to start getting together my interview paperwork good luck tomorrow I'm sure everything will go great!

  5. I got the letter last weekend for an interview on october 21 2009... we never got the approval for the petition form... is this normal?

What did you bring to your interview?

I'm planning on bringing our pictures ( we have tons! of pics)

    Bills

I'm going to add my name to the power, cable and phone

    Copy of bank statements

Copy of our leases for 6 years

Letters from hubby's mom and boss

    Letters from friends

All the paperwork i got from USCIS

Copy of all the forms we filed

    passports and ID's

    Am i missing something?

  6. My wife is here on a K-1 Visa. We have her biometrics appointment next week. What is she supposed to receive so that she can legally stay here? I hear that it takes a while after the biometrics to get a green card?

What things can she do? We filed for EAD and a travel permit. How long do those take to get,

Also (unrelated) but we want to open a joint account at Chase. What will we need to do this?

Hello! i went to my biometrics appointment august 27, i already got my advance parole in the mail check my timeline below for more information. i got a letter stating that i will receive my work permit within a month. some places take longer than others i hope i get it soon.

after she gets her work permit and the advance parole she can work and leave the country with no problem.

  7. When my fiance goes to his interview he will leave his home in Merida. How can he ship things cheaply ahead of time so that he doesn't need to move everything with him to Juarez and then to the US?

Hello, he can use multipack their prices are good, most bus stations have multipack. fedex is too expensive and its the same thing.

If he is sending his things to Juarez he can use that and multipack sends things to the US too :)

  8. Its a recipe for a bread and this is the part that i don't understand

***Do not place product in proof box.

someone explained me that is a temperature and humidity controlled compartment or cabinet that the dough is placed in to rise or ferment. but do any of you know the name in spanish?

Sounds like a bad Chinese translation. Is this a pre-mixed product. If it is and the product was made somewhere else and the instructions have been translated, I'm guessing a microwave. I don't remember specifics, but I would sometimes buy frozen dumplings in China that had English instructions, but they didn't help at all. I just had to figure it out by myself. This sounds sort of familiar to me.

Or maybe, as it is bread you are making, this refers to some sort of box to make the bread rise faster. I don't know. I've never heard of a proof box.

thank you so much!!you're right, it was like an oven lol i ended up not doing it, i was so upset i couldn't understand the intructions hahaha thank youuu :)

    http://www.sourdoughbreads.com/SourdoughSt...ProofingBox.htm

I guess you would use one of these if there wasn't a warm place for you to put your dough to rise, although I have lived in hot and cold climates and never needed a man made "proof box" I have used my oven on warm setting or my airing cupboard and now the back porch

I have never needed a proofbox either. I just leave it out on top of the oven or in an oven that has been warmed and then turned off. It sounds like they don't want you to use one, so I would just make it according to the directions and leave it on top of the stove to rise.

    thank you so much :)

90 days is not bad at all i thought it would take 6 months or so, i miss my mom a lot :( and the only time i get to see her is christmas and when i was in school i would go see her when i had breaks, with our advance parole you won't be as worried because you will be able to go see you mom more often :) I'll let you know when i get mine and please do the same :) have a great day and thank you so much for answering !
