  1. Hi there,

I was just wondering what everyone has or is doing for medical insurance.

My fiancee can put me on hers once we are married but not before, so this leaves me uncovered from POE to the Wedding. I was reading a few posts, but none really from a UK perspective. I guess that travel insurance is out, as I would no longer be a resident of the UK once I enter. So what has everyone done? Temporary Medical Insurance through a US insurance firm, or something through a UK insurance form.

Just really interested to see what everyone has done, as I really do not want to be without cover in the US!

    Thanks!

  2. Hi. Just seems like this i-134 is the most important form at London.

Just wanted to ask what everyone has put for q.10 (i have submitted a visa petition for the following persons.....) and q.11 (I intend or 'do not intend')

From what I have read on this site there is a little discrepancy. Some people say n/a in both cases, but I can veering towards putting my fiancees name for q.10, and "I Intend" and a brief description for q.11.

I am sure this has been asked a million times, but I just wanted to get the London point of view on it, as the embassy seems more concerned with this form than any other.

    Thanks.

  3. Hi Everyone,

Thank you so much for your advice. It is really appreciated. We are now going in fully armed with all the financial info for back-up, and just handing over what seems to be necessary according to everyone's replies. Thanks again, this forum really should be recommended for some kind of stress relief award, and I am not even the stressed type!

  4. Thanks everyone. Just incase anyone else has this the IRS number is 800 829 1040. Free and call 24/7. They sent us the last 3 years Tax Return Transcripts via fax in 10 minutes, and it was free.

I have another 2 questions regarding this. Firstly, what is the i-864 that people talk about. This is just for family, like parents, brothers etc.

Also, on the section on the i-134 that asks for value of posessions : I am leaving this blank as although all the personal possetions probably do amount to a significant amount, we have not got receipts or valuations, and I guess this is what they are looking for? What has everyone else done?

Thanks so much everyone for the help.

  5. Hi all,

I have my interview literally next week. And thought I had everything covered until I looked here and saw some post on the Affidavit of Support.

My fiancee is sponsoring me, and we are filling out the i-134. This is right? Some people mention i-864? But guessing it is just the i-134.

Now her wage is above the poverty line etc, so that is not a worry.

However, what I am worried about is that we do not have a tax transcript from the IRS or Form 1040.

What we do have is w2s for the past 3 years; all payslips this year; letter from employer confirming salary and permanency; and letter from bank confirming savings. So will this be ok? Nothing is mentioned on the http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/visa/iv/faffidavit.html page about needing the tax transcript if you have 2 of the others?

Can someone please confirm? Am driving myself crazy now!

  6. Hi All,

Ok called Dos yesterday, and finally got an interview for the 26th November! Very excited. However, apparently the letter was sent over a week and a half ago and I still have not got it. Just got two questions from those who have got it.

    1) Do you need the letter to get into the embassy?

    2) Is there any additional information on the letter i.e. additional forms to fill out? We never filled out the Part 2 of the d-230, guess I should fill this out just incase? Is there anything else apart from the other forms listed on the website (i.e. affadivit, police cert, birth cert, evidence_

    Thanks for everyones help!

  7. Hi,

Good to hear that someone else is in the same boat. Well not good, but well at least it offers reassurance to the both of us. I am guessing from your timeline that the "Packet 3 Received by Embassy" dates are from your courier and not the DoS?

Seems like there must be a backlog, but we are hoping for a Nov interview, and POE in December. So fingers crossed. Will update as well as soon as we hear anything. Thanks.

  8. Hi. Yes trying not to worry. Just see some people get packet 4 like 2 weeks after sending packet 3, so just wondering if anyone else has had this. Just wondering if the DoS phone service are not completely up-to-date as well. Just a very frustrating process, with very little transparency, which is the problem I guess we are all up against.

  9. Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else is tracking along the same timeline, and what the wait between sending packet 3 and receiving an interview is.

We sent our packet 3 on the 13th Oct (got to the embassy on the 14th signed for etc via courier). We rang the DoS today but they say it is still not on their system that we sent Packet 3 back. Is this normal? It has been over 2 weeks now, just starting to get worried.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks.

  10. Hi. Really need some advice on the d-230. I am just filling out the "have you ever had been issued a US visa" question. I was an L2 when a child on my fathers passport. I was an additional child on this passport, as I did not have my own passport as I was only 8.

On the d-230 it asks you to state the visa type. Now should I just put L2 down OR should I put L2 and include a copy of my fathers passport (it does not ask for any proof?). Just worried if I do include proof that this it will confuse the hell out of them and lead to additional processing.

Anyway have experience or similar of this, and any advice?

    Thanks.

  12. Hi,

A little advice needed, if anyone could help.

We are thinking of sending the police certificate form in next week on the 2 day priority processing, and also sending back the packet 3 next week, before we get the certificate back. From everything I have heard the embassy is taking around a month to get back with an interview date, so I really cannot see this way of doing things being a problem, as I have had not criminal records etc.

Would anyone advise against doing this, or have any information as to why not?

    Thanks for all advice.

  13. Hi All,

Just wanted a little advice. Apparently the embassy sent my Packet 3 (DOS told me this) on the 18th Sept. Still not got it (posties strike I am sure!). So am just wondering if literally all is in the packet is the link to the embassy site (http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/visa/iv/iv_15.html)

If so, can I not just complete all the papers and get them in the post, without receiving the actually Packet 3? Has anyone else done this? Is there anything else in the Packet 3 I should be aware of?

    Thanks for all your help.

  14. Hi can anyway please offer some advice. I have moved from the UK to France in the last few weeks, but have got assigned London as my embassy. It is not a problem to travel back for the interviews etc.

I am just worried that my address is France now, so would I have to change embassy. It is also no problem to use my old UK address on the forms, as my friend still lives there, so can forward me all the packet 3 and 4 no problem.

Has anyway got any advice, as we are worrying about this a lot now! Thanks
