  1. Hello,

I hope you guys can help me. The interview is coming up and on the list of documents to take, they mention USC passport to prove citizenship (that'd be my husband). Now, he just told me today his passport is expired =/ and there's no time to renew it since it takes 4-6 weeks (his parents have his passport, why? no idea.. i guess he decided not to take it with him when he moved out.. like 10 years ago, ridiculous, i know!) NEways, my question is, do we take the expired passport with us? or is it really optional to take it? (we have his birth certificate, which proves his citizenship just like the passport) Do they actually need the passport or would it be fine just to take his birth certificate to prove his citizenship?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Hello everyone,

This is probably a silly question but I've looked everywhere and all I've achieved so far is to get very confused.

We're moving in a couple of weeks (my husband is the USC and I'm the beneficiary) so I know we need to notify USCIS of our change of address. Would anybody be so kind as to list the steps to follow? I know I'm supposed to fill out a form AR-11 (within 10 days) but what about my husband? Does he need to fill out any forms? I read something about the sponsor on I-864 having to fill out a different form =/ (form I-865) Is that true? I'm confused because some websites say it's needed and others don't even mention it.

Also I know there's two ways to do it; to mail form AR-11 or to do it online.. I'm planning on doing it online so I just file form AR-11 and that's it? Or there's more steps to follow?

    Thanks in advance!!

  3. Here's what happened to me.

Went to my biometrics appointment yesterday and took my passport with me as my form of ID, together with the immigration biometrics letter.

Got there and they asked for my marriage license (since my passport has my maiden name on it) I didn't have it with me (I had no clue I was supposed to show it to them @ the biometrics appointment) and they told me they'd have to process me on my maiden name (even though the letter immigration sent has my married name on it) NEways, what they told me is, when the time for the interview comes, i should make sure to take my certified copy of my marriage license/certificate with me and tell them my biometrics show my maiden name because i didn't have my marriage license/certificate with me at the time and my passport had my maiden name on it so they had to process it like that but ask them to change it and issue the GC (if everything goes well of course, crossing fingers!!) on my married name.

So I'm a little bit worried, since as all of you, I want the interview to go smoothly and I don't know if it's going to be possible. Yesterday they told me there shouldn't be any problem and they should be able to change it; but I'd like to know if any of you has gone through that, something similar or know what's going to happen.

Thanks in advance =) and good luck to all of you! <3

  4. Hello everyone :)

I'm new to the forums and new to the whole process.

I have a question regarding the forms i need to send and the documents i'm sending with them. (Forms required to petition an alien relative through marriage).

I was planning on sending the I-130 all by itself (together with the documentation required of course) until i talked to a person that works with immigration lawyers and she told me to send the rest of the forms together (I-485 and I-864) all at once because it would be faster.

    Now my question is:

If i'm sending all of those forms at the same time, is it ok if i send them together with the documentation needed in the same envelope? Because, some documents are needed for 2 different forms.

For example, I need to fill out and send two forms G-325A (one for me, one for my husband) together with form I-130, they also require one G-325A with form I-485, as well as the passport-type photos included with each G-325A. Same thing happens with the certified copy of the marriage certificate and the birth certificates, they are both required by forms I-130 as well as I-485.

So i'm very confused because when i found out it would be better to send all the forms together, i was planning on sending each form with it's needed documentation in separate envelopes and those individual envelopes together in a big one. But now i don't know because some documents are required for more than one form and i don't think i should duplicate documents.

So, would it be ok to send all the forms plus documents in one big envelope? If so, what would be the right order? (like all forms together first and then documentation, etc) I don't want to mess up so i need some help.

Thanks guys!! My husband and I will really appreciate it!
