  1. What happened when she submitted the Co-sponsor?

hey guys sorry for not updating. Our appointment date for submission is on the 18 of dec. but my wife submitted on the 7th hoping we can get an early review, but that didn't happened. So I called dhs often checking on the status and my wife also went in to ask about our case. Finally on the 18th I received an email from the consulate stating that my wife can come in on the 18th the receive the result. I stayed up the whole night waiting for my wife to call me back with the result. She was the last one out and we finally got our pink slip. She just picked up her visa today and ready to come home to me! I'm so excited and I feel a tons of pounds lighter...thankyou god and everyone in here!!! good luck to all and a merry christmas and happy new years!!! thanks :star: if you need any help from me feel free to leave me a message.

  2. Hey guys. I just got back from vietnam, and checked on my case. Right now they are asking for a joint-sponsor. The date to submit is the 18th of dec. I am hoping this is good news, i've already sent her the joint-sponsor papersworks. Can we submit it before the appointment date? Will it cause any inconvienience or should we wait until the 18th to submit?

  3. hey guys, i emailed the consulate asking if my wife can come in and give additional evidence, this is what they told me.....

    Dear Sir,

Thank you for your inquiry. As we do not ask the beneficiary to submit additional information at this time, she will not be allowed to enter the Consulate. The beneficiary is asked to wait for our review on her case. If the beneficiary wishes to submit additional evidence in support of her case, she may do so by send it to us via mail. We will have It filed in her case file once we have received it.

If you have further inquiries, please do not delete your original email and please include the complete case number (HCM XXXX-XXX-XXX) in all correspondence.

    Sincerely,

----so how did some of the vjers spouse got in and ask for case status??

  4. I'm just worried that we might got denied and they haven't inform us. Thats what making me go nuts. I want to come back before they make any decision and submit more evidence...If we got denied it better be a really good reason. I can't imagine what the reason would be...It's giving me the chills. Everyone after me has gotten a decision, but not us yet....That's what's really driving me crazy. :help:

Call Department fo State and ask the status of the case.. 202-663-1225.. they will know if the consuate has decided yet...

thanks scott, i just called them, wow i was so nervous asking for case status, i'm still shaking...my case is still under review they haven't gotten a decision yet...wheewwwwwwwww glad we still have hope..

Not trying to keep you down, when I went in, they told me that they HAD not even looked at it since resubmission, then all at once we got denied and they said I had only made one trip. I think it was already denied while I was there, and they just did not want to tell be because they knew with me there it would be hard to argue their bs. I HOPE what they say to you is true, and hopefully if they are not telling the truth or the person you talked to did not really "LOOK" into it and it is sitting there approved waiting for someone to sign off and send the notice out. There are hundreds of positives if you just called and they said nothing new, just be ready if something changes over night, they might have been telling me the truth, and me going there made them think "Ohh sht" he is almost past his 90 days we better get on it, and then decide to make the wrong decision and deny us. Good luck. Jerome

That would really sucks, if they treat everyone's case like that. I'm praying everyday and night. Its has only been over a month since my wife and i are together, it's been hard seems like a long time. I just can't imagine having to do a rebuttal and waiting again. Regardless i'm gonna keep my heads up and fight to the end. I really feel bad for all of those who just got denied, I keep on imagining how i would be if we got denied, and how my wife would be. Thanks all.

    Toan

They didn't tell me or my wife anything about the final decision. I email them every week and today my wife received all of the evidence back already. I guess it's being done awhile back but some how they all of the documents are back at the house.

Good luck man. I'm coming back to see my wife on the 1st of January along with my parents.

Thanks phung, hey how did you exactly found out? did you call the department of State? Or did your congressman called you? I called the number scott gave, but don't know if they are up to date.

  10. I'm going back to vietnam on the 4th. My wife spoke with lytrinh and she told me he got denied. :wow::help: This is getting crazy guys. I dont'' know what's going on at the consulate. I just got back from vietnam on the 23rd of september now i'm going back again next week, i hope this will let them know that i'm no fraud. I'll update if anything goes.

  11. Thanks jerome and jonh and everyone in vj. This site has been very helpful. Good luck with your wife coming to america john. I wish you guys have a wonderful loving life together with a baby a the beginning of the year and the end of the year. Jerome after reading about your case, I see there is a lot of red flags that made them denied your visa. It sucks, they only look at facts of whats on paper, they can never really understand our true relationship with our love ones. I think the best way to prove a relationship is real or not, is to use a lie detector test. I rather put my hopes on a lie detector test than on the judgement of a human being. I'm really sorry and I can feel the pain of denial, just like the time my wife walks out with the blue, it really hurts, but I had to be strong and let her know that regardless I will not give up hope...good luck!

  12. after hearing about these denials i'm really scared. I just bought tickets to vietnam. I'm leaving next week. I'm goiing in at every possibilities to the consulate. Really sad to hear huong and phung and jeromebinh. Keep your heads up and keep on going.

  14. Ly should be out next week... She went to the consulate last night and they said not done... we will notify you.. likely Tuesday or so before they are done if the timeframe after Johns call is the same as Ly's....

I got the call from DoS yesterday and I am out of NVC AP today.. so that scheming call is for sure an indicator that something is about to happen... with luck I will fax and email the DS230 and DS 2001 on Tuesday as they will get the file on Monday and I could get an interview as early as Dec 21 or 22... fingers crossed... if all goes well she could be here b4 the end of the year and married b4 Jan 1.... woo hoo on that tax deduction!!!!

If anyone else gets a call from HCMC let us know.. this is a good sign and we can count from that day how long it takes...

So she'll travel as soon as she gets the approval?? I think you're being too hopeful if you think she'll get her visa by the 31st though...lol. Unless you can get Thuy to explain to the consulate officers that she needs her visa that same day because ya'll wanna take advantage of the filing status!! LOL.... :) (It's possible though...I guess.)

Fingers crossed...i had my wife fly to saigon in a couple of weeks to check out the status, hopefully good news. If the case is not done yet then I'll have her submit more evidence of us after being in AP, hopefully this will let them know that we are legitimate. I will let you guys know what's up. :innocent:

  15. COngrats to JOHN good to hear you got approve bro! I just got a boost of hope hehe. Anyways do they notify us by email if we get approve or denied?

Please add yourself if you are currently in Administrative Processing "AP" (2nd blue slip).

LindaL24 has a copy of the Blue AP slip, Pink Approval Slip, and US Visa issued by HCMC Consulate under "My Photos"

  16. ****IMPORTANT NOTE: Processing wait time DOES NOT include the time required for administrative processing. These procedures require additional time. Most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of application. When administrative processing is required, the timing will vary based on individual circumstances of each case. Therefore, before making inquiries about status of administrative processing, applicants or their representatives will need to wait at least 90 days from the date of interview or submission of supplemental documents, whichever is later. Processing wait time also does not include the time required to return the passport to applicants, by either courier services or the local mail system.

    http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/wait/tem...p;x=72&y=13

Linda's was 91 days... The site says wait 90 days before you inquire about the status of the case in AP.... one must wonder if they have a new goal of 90 days or less... there have been others in for a long time.. Fred, Kevin... and others waited twice as long as Linda or longer to get out of AP....

"AT LEAST 90 days?......................." ouch

  17. So my husband will be picking up his visa tomorrow (10/14) and I know the visa is good for 6 months after it is issued, but after that point, does it expire for good and we just have to reapply all over again? Is there a waiver or an extension that we can file to change the date on the visa?

Is he planning to stay in vietnam more than 6 months? If not then you don't have to worry about it. CONGRATS!!!:star::thumbs::dance:

And to answer that question, yea it does expire and you'll have to start all over again, so tell your husband to GET OUT OF THERE! hehe

Not totally correct.. It expires after 6 months.. but an extension can be granted by the consulate. We all know how friendly they are there so not a good idea to risk it...

MY HUSBAND PICKED UP HIS PASSPORT WITH VISA on 10/14/2009. And then went to get purchase his airline ticket for ~$600!!! He's flying Delta from HCMC --> Tokyo, JP --> Detroit, MI --> Houston, TX on 10/31/2009!!! :) We're so excited!! :)

I forgot to mention this: The expiration date stated on the visa is a month after issuance--not 6 months as I was expecting!

hey lindal i have a question for you. Did your Ly lich tu phap expired? was it good for 6 months. IF we got approval after the ly lich tu phap expire do they request a updated one?

We did not have an problem with the police certificate. I believe that the police certificate does expire after 6 months, but I don't think it matters once NVC receives it. If the COs want to delay your visa, they may or may not ask you to request it and resubmit it. This would give them another 2-3 weeks as that is how long it took us to get our certificate.

wow, really? only 1 month? thats wierd... I thought it was 6months. They must have changed the rules. But did your police cert. expired?

  18. Well, I send my warmest welcome from an HTowner. Hope Houston will cool down a bit by the time your husband lands in Houston. So you guys drive back to San Antonio right away or you plan on spending sometime in Houston?

Almost all of our family lives in Houston so we will stay there for the weekend, and then drive back to San Antonio Sunday night. I want to take him Trick or Treating for sure and then I'll probably take him around HK and stuff so he will see what he'll miss in Saigon and Houston 'cause San Antonio ain't got none of that stuff... :P hahaa...poor guy...doesn't know what he's got coming...lol...

  20. I have my paperwork in order the I-864 should I send that in now or should I wait until my wife gives me her paperwork and send them in together? I assume we wont get our interview date from the NVC until they get all the paperwork but I was thinking if I send mine in now that might go threw it early and it will save a few days so we might get the itnerview sooner.

you should send in your i864 now, so they can review it. In case there is something wrong with your i864 you can fix it while waiting for your spouse's paperworks. It takes about 2 weeks for your case to be completed after you send in all your paperworks, and you'll get an interview date within 2 weeks.
