I guess it was a bad sign. Our waiver was denied.
-
We filed for a fiance visa which was denied due to an overstay and then submitted the waiver. Thankfully I'm not at work today, I'm a mess!
-
I just checked the USCIS London Waiver Spreadsheet and our case was completed! It went from pending to completed within a month, is that a good sign or a bad sign? Of course I had to see this on a Friday afternoon when everything in London/Dublin is closed. Anyone have any thoughts?

OMG I just checked the USCIS London Office Waiver Status and it looks like our case was completed. It was only under review for a couple of weeks. Is it a good sign or a bad sign that it was completed so quickly?

That's what I thought, that it would have been mentioned verbally or on the letter. But since it hasn't I'm not going to add to my stress by worrying about it. Thanks!

Nothing was mentioned about the duis, they were a few years ago. On the denial letter it said he's banned due to his overstay.
He overstayed by around 300 days.

My Fiance had his visa interview in Dublin just over a month ago and was denied due to an overstay (under a year) and now has the 3 year ban. My question is, he has 2 dui convictions which were clearly on the police record. Now that we have submitted the I-601 waiver to London for the overstay, can London now deny the waiver because of the 2 dui's even though that's not the reason for the ban? Thanks in advance for your reply.

A month ago I flew to Dublin for his interview for fiance visa at the embassy. He got the 3 year ban for an overstay which we were expecting. I had the I-601 waiver prepared to hand in that day. Since then I have emailed the embassy in Dublin to find out the status of the waiver, if it had been sent to London yet but I've received no reply. Today, I emailed them this message:
"As you can see from the emails below, the embassy in Dublin have had our waiver for nearly a month now. Any questions I have about the status have been ignored. Is this standard for this particular embassy? Do you think I should stop payment on the bank draft and just send another one along with another I-601 (I have copies of everything) directly to London? I am at my wits end, any light you can shed will be greatly appreciated."
It turns out the embassy in Dublin review the waiver and make a recommendation before sending it to London. Now I'm thinking they'll want to give it a bad rec because of the snotty email I sent. I never would have sent it had I known they review it in Dublin. I thought they just make sure everything on the checklist is there and then forward it on. Did I blow it?

Sorry, right, a hardship letter. My Dad is really old and sick so I'm wondering if I can type it out for him and have him sign it? Or should it be hand-written?
-
Does anyone know where I can see examples of letters written by a USC's friends / relatives for their HSL?
TIA!
-
Thanks for your replies. I contacted the embassy and requested a date anytime in July so I'm still waiting for a reply. I really expected more time to arrange travel, etc. 2 weeks seems very sudden.
-
I submitted my HSL draft on immigrate2us. It's a really long story but he overstayed (by just under a year) and has a couple of dwis so we're expecting 3 year ban at least. Have most of the waiver compiled (letters, evidence, etc.). I just never even imagined not being there for the interview. I mean, I know they won't speak to me but I just want to be there for him. 2 weeks is not a lot of notice. I can go in July, I'm just afraid to even ask! I might wind up waiting months for another appointment. :-(

I really feel like I need to be there. We are expecting a ban and I want to submit the waiver and HSL, etc. that day.
-
I just received an email from the embassy in Dublin stating our interview is June 23. I can't get time off work to go that week. If I ask to postpone does anyone know how long it will be? I can go anytime in July.

Thanks afisher. Thanks everyone and wishing you all lots of luck!

Proof of ongoing relationship I can prove. I've been to Dublin 3 times since September, I have my boarding passes and I also have my astronomical phone bills. I hope that will do.
-
We went out to dinner just the two of us but never saved a receipt. I'm confused. We lived together for almost a year, I have bills in both our names and pictures and all that kind of stuff. I thought when the I129F was approved here in the States that it meant they recognize our relationship is valid. Now I have to worry about the fact that we didn't spend a fortune unneccesarily (sp?)? I'm really frustated with all these ridiculous hoops we have to jump through.
-
No receipts. We weren't going to do anything fancy at all, nothing that would take more than 2 weeks to plan. We were really just thinking of something like city hall and a restaurant afterwards, nothing that takes much planning. I never thought being low maintenance would bite me in the a**.

Hi Everyone,
The I129F I filed for my fiance has been processed here in the US and they sent my fiance T the packet requesting all the docs, info they need before he has his interview at the embassy in Dublin. He said one of the things they are requesting is "proof of engagement". What kind of proof? I didn't want an engagement ring, so there's no receipt. I just planned on a plain gold band when we're married. I was never a jewelry person. What else could be proof?
TIA

Well, not good. Waiver denied. Don't really know what to do right now.
